When…read morethe individual came to pick up our Yorkie puppy for training, we felt uncomfortable with the individual taking our puppy for 3-weeks and not allowing us to see him during the 3-weeks. We decided at that time not to proceed with the training. The individual did not tell us at that time that we would be charged the full amount of the training if we changed our mind. We can understand paying the individual for coming to our home and maybe even a small cancellation fee, but not the full price for three weeks of training that never took place. We were later told that the contract said no refund. So, our mistake for not seeing that, but what a ripoff to charge that much money for no service provided. We are seniors and loosing that much money just because we did not feel comfortable with letting our Yorkie puppy be taken for 3-weeks and not letting us see him is an extremely hard pill to swallow. This is just to let anyone else interested in doing business with this company to be aware that the company does not give refunds, and makes no allowance if you change your mind.

While our pups are not the doggie daycare type, they were stinky. I stopped in and spoke with the owner, Josh. I was impressed with his passion for his business and his knowledge of the Fort Walton Beach area. After talking with him, I completed an information sheet on the dogs. It was great to see the vaccine records checked before the dogs could be groomed. Kaylee, the groomer, called me and we scheduled the appointments. Over the phone, Kaylee was so personable. In person she was so professional and positive about our dogs. When we picked them up, the dogs both smell good and are SOOOO SOFT. If we lived here, Kaylee would be our groomer! When we arrived to drop them off, the staff wasn't friendly or inviting, which should have been our tell-all. Walking back to the kennel, it was dark, cold, uninviting, and sad. The worst part was picking them up. We arrived early, which gave us the true picture of their time there. They were so frantic to get out of there, they weren't happy to see us, but instead blazed past us for the front door like they were trying to escape. We've never seen them act this way. Despite having "outdoor access" their beds and blankets smelled so badly of pet waste we had to discard them, and they were having to lay in that filth and stink because they seemed to have had nowhere else to go. They also had never been given their toys or treats. The staff was as cold and unfriendly as when we left them, we should have run for our lives and never ever left our babies there. Expensive and horrible.

The second time we tried them for boarding and were in a total bind and needed last minute accommodations. They Took him with open arms and fit us into their schedule. Thank you Caitlin and Collin! We get a daily report card (typically the next morning very early) with photos to see how he did. They have enrichment activities too like a splash pad and sprinklers. Love it. Also the end of stay bath, a must for all those "I missed you so bad" cuddles that are incoming on pickup. The people here are incredibly nice and accommodating. We feel very, very good taking him here. No concerns whatsoever. all the photos we got of him had a happy tail position. this is his boarding place now. They have shown us they can give our fur munchkin plenty of love.

So instead of fitting my dog in since it was their mistake, they pushed my appointment. Thank goodness there was a cancellation a week later... Well that didn't go as planned either. My dog is not use to belong locked in a room with 20 other dogs jumping and barking so she was out of her comfort zone and probably terrified considering it was her first groom. so needless to say she did not respond well when a guy walked in to grab her. Well before I even pulled into my driveway which was less than 10 minutes away they called and said they won't groom her because she TRIED to bite their groomer. She's NEVER tried to bite anyone before so something wasn't right. Here's the deal, as groomers you should know how to ease up to a dog who is scared but instead of trying they just gave up. I ended up going to Pet Sense to get my dog groomed and they said she was as sweet as can be and was even snuggling with them. So is it my dog or is it the people at Paradise grooming?
