This bank showed up on my credit union account after deducting $500 for 9 months in a row. The purpose of the transaction was listed as "online services." I have received over $239 in over draft charges from the bank my paycheck was high jacked from I have made several calls to have my money return. I was introduced to the sites by a woman calling herself Wendy Cowper 213-791-4599 She has me wire money to Spike - spikefinancial.com Money in Spike uses this bank so I would be wired Trust Wallet - trustwallet.com The money was then sent from a wallet in Trust Wallet to Trust Short Trading - trustshortradiengtfz.com I tried to pull out all my capital and profit. Trust Short Trading said pay capital gains of $32,000 at 25%, I sent $36, to pay for any fees. Then they said I need to pay $22K as a margin I sent $22K but they said only $21,225 was sent for a margin. I asked them do I need to send any more then $22,000 they said no before I sent the $22K. Now they are asking for another $32k for a margin Now they want another $32,000. I have copies of all transactions and screen shots. SCAM read more

CrossRiver Bank has ruined my life! Never go with an institutional that is not reputable and has the infrastructure to support operations. I applied for the PPP Loan as a sole Proprietor. I was approved for PPE loan for $29 k and the loan was forgiven. I've been a frontline worker in the Native American Community since 2010. CrossRiver recalled my loan on Jan 21,2022 and reported it as an unauthorized wire transfer. They basically reported my loan as fraudulent. WellsFargo froze and closed all of my bank accounts, even all of my joint accounts with my husband, children and businesses. My 40th birthday trip was ruined because I had no access to funds. Wells Fargo stated that they would unfreeze my accounts if CrossRiver reached out to them. They didn't investigate or see anything fraudulent on my account. You can't speak to anyone to resolve issues with this bank! I have all of the supportive documents to prove that my loan was authorized and all the information submitted was legitimate. I've called the two branches that they have everyday for almost two weeks. I've emailed their support everyday, and I get automatic responses. I've sent them the documents, and in my portal it shows that I don't owe anything. My only option was to pay for an attorney to start the processing of filing a law suit. My record is completely clean without any evidence or investigations pending. I've reported this to the BBB. How in the world could a bank do this to someone?! I can't move forward with business deals because of my bank issues. This is humiliating and I've haven't slept since I was notified. STAY AWAY!!!! This bank should be taken to court for negligence in handling ppp loans. After taking in large (tens of thousands of not more) applications, they have NO systems and NO customer service and NOone will help you. I must have censored them half a dozen of time, only to get the same copy/paste response which was not even a response to any of my questions. The 888 number which I was able to find, connected me to people around the world who had no idea what they were saying or doing. Added so much unnecessary frustration to my life. We signed closing documents and have etran numbers in caweb. Only to find out that our applications were not approved! Contacted the SBA to find out CRB has the funds! Cannot even fathom how unprofessional my experience has been. I run a business that is the among the most affected by COVID - live events. I applied for PPP through them, filled out the application completely and uploaded the appropriate documents. Though the application was marked as completed on their site, I never even received a confirmation email (how hard is it to set up an auto-reply?) and then heard zero from them. Today, I logged in randomly and see my application was not approved with zero explanation. And of course, they never even gave the courtesy of letting me know this. There is only a limited time to re-apply somewhere competent so notifying me takes on additional importance. There is also no logical reason to have denied the application. Hey, Cross River, as least businesses, their employees and their families aren't relying on you during a pandemic! Oh. I'll note that the after I applied through them, I read their "poor" rating and reviews on TrustPilot. You should check that out, too. PS. Having read more reviews, this seems like some kind of PPP fraud / scam. Will be contacting the relevant Attorney General, consumer organizations including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and whomever else handles banking oversight. Had the same problem as all these people. Denied because "they couldn't transfer my funds", kept the $, collected interest, sent it back. No attempts were ever made to actually wire the $ which is provable btw (contact your bank) . I wasn't able to get any part of PPP funds because of them. read more

Cross River Bank/Affirm Payment Plan is the most unorganized, unresponsive and extremely slow to nonexistent at understanding issues with one's account. Received 2 letters from FreedomPlus/CrossRiver stating that they pulled my credit. I have not applied for any credit anywhere. The prompts on the phone kept asking for my social security number. I finally was able to get someone on the line without putting it in. The lady answering at FreedomPlus phone number, wanted my full social security number. I refused. She said they couldn't pull up information any other way. Then after threatening to go to the law, she tried my phone number, name and address and said she couldn't find any information. So, how did they get my information to send these letters? Sounds like a phishing scam to me. read more

SBA clarification states that "As long as a borrower submits its loan forgiveness application within ten months of the completion of the Covered Period (as defined below), the borrower is not required to make any payments until the forgiveness amount is remitted to the lender by SBA." I applied for a PPP with this place because Quickbooks recommended it. Over a month after my application, I got a random denial email with no explanation. I happened to check the application weeks ago and saw the no explanation denial. I applied through Smartbiz with the same information and was approved. Well I think all these one stars said it all. I'm just here to add my experience in 2021. They approved me & then said direct deposit was rejected. I called my bank. (After confirming all information was correct of course) my bank said there had never been any attempts. They said they had to create a ticket & someone would get back to me. No one ever got back to me. I got three different stories from three different reps. All saying someone would call me back. I never got a call back. You can not speak to any managers or supervisors. CPA's....AVOID AVOID AVOID!! If other companies make you do a few other steps go with them. This is an absolute nightmare & beginning to feel like a waste of time. read more

I have several companies. I applied for PPP round 2 at different banks for the different companies. I was solicited by CR and decided to do one with them. Total nightmare. I applied as soon as it opened. All others apps from the other banks were processed already. My app at CR has been "Application awaiting SBA approval" for 2+ weeks. BS. I tried reapplying at other banks and they all came back saying the SBA said it's being held by another lender - which is them. Going on 3 weeks now that I've called / emailed them many times. Zero response. My last call today I said I want to cancel the application, the barely English offshore speaking agent responded "A higher agent will call me in today". Right! Absolutely criminal. I'm also in the service industry. Zero communication? I'd be out of business a long time ago. They bit off more that they can chew. Applied for a PPP loan. They turned down my application but refused to tell me why for 30 days (though they could take the time to tell me I need to wait). After the 30 days I was told they couldn't verify my income and some ways to prove my income, INCLUDING a document that was already included in my paperwork! Despite this I was told I would have to reapply. So I waited 30 days for you to tell me you don't have something you already had... To boot the csr was not helpful and honestly kinda rude, just gave me canned responses. read more

applied for PPP, the bank not only used there own set of criteria but denied me after id already received round one. They pulled my credit, which is above 700 but its not supposed to be credit based so why is the bank pulling credit? I had to go an alternative rout to receive funding. After trying multiple lenders did i discover they are taking applications under a variety of different lends such as the following "BLUE VINE, 1 WEST, and god knows how many other broker companies they hide behind. Need less to say they held my application for 3 weeks only to get a SLOW NO, THANK GOD I was able to secure funding with someone else. STAY CLEAR OR CROSS RIVER BANK FOR PPP. I applied ppp for my business, and received a email said that the loan was approved by the SBA. Total amount of my ppp + eidl was $20835 with 1% flat interest annum for 24 months. But when this bank was sending me loan paper to sign, I realized they indicated that I need to make a payment of $1166.76 every month if my loan is not forgiven. So I did a little math my self $1166.76 X 24 = $28002.24 in total, which is more than 15% interest per year. I found it wired so I emailed to ppp.support@crossriver.com, asked them to give me a break down on the $1166.76 monthly payment, It has been more than 1 week now, no one call me or reply my email. literally the worst organization ive ever had the displeasure to do business with. they have an open ended help system that ensures that not only will you never receive help, but theres not even a way to complain to anyone about the lack of help you receive. They issued my ppp funds to some random account that belongs to God knows who. But guess where I can't get help from? Man did they stick it to us on the PPP application. 1st the wrong forms, then no review, eventually a statement saying something was wrong, then no response to repeated calls and emails. The PPP money gone now and I will shut down shortly, laying off my staff. I'm past being angry about it, while there is no real help for the self employeed, at least the unemployment benefits for the old employees will be good. PPP #2 applications were submitted to them as early as February 1st, yet after 90 days, they claim they "did not make it in time" to the SBA. And trying to communicate with them was almost impossible. It is truly unfortunate that the banks are no longer regulated, therefore becoming corporate America themselves, and no longer caring about small business, only their own bottom lines. Cross River should be ashamed of their handling of such important matters for the small businesses that are absolutely crucial to our country. If I could give zero stars I would in a heartbeat. I have contacted customer service multiple times and sent multiple emails. Customer service just gave me the run around and wont help me and i have had no response at all from anyone. I called today again 3 more times and i just got sent to some random persons voice mail who I still haven't heard back from. I am a customer of Cross River Bank, and I am writing regarding the second round of the Payroll Protection Program. I am posting here as a last resort because I have not been able to reach a human representative from Cross River Bank who could provide support. My second round PPP application was approved by CRB and SBA, and I successfully received my funding, but one week later, the funding was rescinded via a reversal initiated by CRB. So far, ppp.support@crossriver.com, as well as the PPP hotline have not been able to resolve my issues or offer an adequate explanation. Their response time is also several days long - sometimes weeks. I have been trying to get help from your support team for three weeks now to no avail. I am afraid that the PPP application deadline will come before this issue is resolved, and that I won't be able to receive my funding. This has been my timeline: 1/25/21: Applied for second round of PPP with Cross River Bank. 1/29/21: Received message that the application was approved by SBA. 1/31/21: Received closing documents. I noticed I had made a mistake regarding the PPP First Draw SBA Loan Number on the closing documents. I notified Cross River Bank immediately via email. 2/5/21: CRB asks for confirmation on the mistake. 2/7/21: I signed the closing documents via DocuSign. 2/9/21: I received the funding in my checking account. 2/16/21: My funding was rescinded and removed from my account with a reversal initiated by CRB. I contacted CRB via email immediately, who advised that the reversal took place and my application was canceled because of the mistake I had made on the PPP First Draw SBA Loan Number. TreQuincy at PPP Support advised me to reapply in a few business days. 2/23/21: I applied again with CRB but received this message: "Thank you for your application for business loan. Based on the information you have provided us, we already have an application for your business in our system." I contacted CRB via email but received no response. 2/26/21: I applied again with CRB and received the same message as above. Still no response from CRB. 3/2/21: I received the following message from CRB. It does not address the reversal that took place on my account. "Our records show that your application has been processed and your loan funding is completed. Please note that it may take several days for the deposit of your loan to show in your account." 3/3/21: I received a message from TreQuincy at PPP Support asking me to try reapplying again. I did, and I received the same message I had received on 2/23. 3/4/21: I reapplied again, and I received the same message as on 2/23. 3/5/21: I reapplied again, and I received the same message as on 2/23. read more

I had few hassles (I made several mistakes in my application) applying for a ppp loan with the bank that took a while to sort out. Getting a real person was time-consuming as the bank auto submits each application (the reason it's one of the leading lenders by volume). It all worked out in the end. My advice: check your application, check it again, and when you are sure it's right, check it again. Had I done this, I would have loved this bank from the beginning. read more

Applied for a PPP loan and was approved, but cannot get it forgiven because between Cross River and Quickbooks (where I did the application) they keep pointing the finger at each other and nobody will accept loan forgiveness applications. My ppp loan was approved and I signed the papers on 2/2. The loan should fund within 10 days, but has not funded. I have emailed customer service and receive only boilerplate responses that are pulled from their FAQ. I called customer service, but the agents just put me on hold, ask me repeated questions that they should have the answers to and then tell me I need to email customer service. read more

I never leave bad reviews. My application was in review for five weeks and It timed out of the system and was denied. It was denied because it got stuck in their system. I have an email from CrossRiver confirming it timed out after FIVE WEEKS. When I pressed further on how it could happen, they offered that it timed out because of an answer on my application. I verified that answer with their customer service before I applied. This company may be great with other things and I think PPP funding proved a huge task. My application timing out after 5 weeks, and after so many phone calls confirming it was fine and just in que, is frustrating and limited my options with 19 days before the program expires. Do not apply for PPP through them! It took 3 months for them to let me know that the application cannot be processed, while I was able to get funding from the other bank within a week. I kept asking Cross River about the status of the application and they told me that I must send the request from the email address I have on the application. And it took them 2 weeks to reply to that email saying that they can't verify the email address although it was the actual email address I used in the application. Very slow and ultimately incapable of both handling customer inquiries and getting funding that is actually easily available. Again, DO NOT APPLY THROUGH THEM! read more

My bank, Wells Fargo is saying that CRB sent over a letter to freeze my funds and to have them return my funds. WHAT???? This is ridiculous!!!!!! I don't know what's going on. I'm so fed up and pissed right now .. I just want to go on with my life and run my business. This is too stressful. When I called CRB the customer service rep said that my account has been fully funded and there's no issues. So where is this letter to Wells Fargo coming from and why? This is krazy! read more
