This local apothecary is a great place! For a small space, they really have a huge selection of…read moreherbs, teas, tinctures and so many natural options. The two ladies that own the shop are very knowledgeable, friendly, and down to earth! They make a lot of their own tea blends and tinctures but also source out really well-made items too. They won't always direct you one or another on your own personal health journey, but they will guide you to resources to help you along the way. I recently purchased a bunch of loose leaf teas, their own jarred castor oil and their own magnesium rub - all of which are great quality. They also have various workshops and events at the shop throughout the year that promote different kinds and levels of health and wellness. Examples are sourdough workshops, fire cider workshops, holy fire reiki, and so much more. The parking is on the street and can be hard to get a space super close by, but a quick walk will be worth it. The prices are fair for what you are getting. There is a small seating area in the front to look thru some of the resources and books they have in the store. There is also a small room off to the side where they sell natural alternatives for things like soap and candles.

The owner is very friendly and helpful. Parking can be tough, so I always park at the Dunkin Donuts parking lot that's on the road right after Thyme.

Artemisia Botanicals - So many jars!

The herbal shops category can be really wide-ranging. It can refer to many things. But when I think…read moreof my dream herbal shop, I'm pretty sure its Artemisia Botanicals. It's no coincidence that Artemisia Botanicals was named to a recent Yelp blog of the top 25 herbal shops in the USA! I was immediately captivated by the walls and walls of teas, oils, essences, candles, herbs, spices, incense, tinctures, salves, soaps and more. Whatever you need to enhance your spiritual practice, they carry here. One of the things that surprised me was how deep commercialization of witchcraft had hit Salem. However, Artemisia is the real deal and fully unaffected by the deep capitalism otherwise running rampant through the city. They in no way are sacrificing their authenticity, quality or commitment to the community. One of my main goals while visiting Salem was to have a tea leaf reading...and I was absolutely blown away by the tea leaf reading I received here! It really empowered my desire to want to learn more about it. Tea leaf readings seem to have reduced in commonality in the young witch community, but they had a fantastic young guy here who was trained by elders. You have to stop here and check this store out. It's Salem and its finest.

He gets extra bonus points for taking my name and information when the store may carry this herb. When I sulked at some prices, AJ kindly elaborated on the reasons behind the prices. Someone else mentioned how this store has a strong rating and I AGREE!

There's probably something for every kind of cuisine out there. I was quite happy to find that they had a special flavor of Japanese rice seasoning I couldn't find at Hmart and other Asian stores. I also ended up getting lavender flowers and yuzu marmalade to enhance and go with my matcha tea. Prices were very reasonable, and the staff were very friendly. I'll definitely be back for some specialty items!

There are specialty spreads, sauces, nuts, beans, teas, etc. you can purchase as well. Speaking to the owner's son, he mentioned spices are purchased in the USA (that have been imported from other countries) and purchased directly from other countries as well. I visited this shop when it first opened maybe about 7-8 years ago. It was located near Christina's Homemade Icecream shop and didn't have as much stock. I'm so glad this establishment blossomed into a full spice library! One suggestion for the owners would be to label sections with spices by maybe country or curries vs marinades etc. I bought so many spices since we are never in the area. My purchases ranged from Thai green curry spice mix to goghugaru chilli flakes. What a delightful visit I had and I even picked up a few gifts for friends too!
