We were on the way to Wales and had some time left. Since we are NT member, we thought Croome looks interesting and is dog-friendly.
We didn't expect it to be that big. But the huge parking lot was already a giveaway, that this is a major attraction. For good reason.
It was a bit of a cold, grey day and there weren't many visitors. Many came here for the RAF museum, which is also on site. Sadly we didn't have time for it that day. Maybe another time.
The park, the (walled) gardens, the whole site is very big and great for a nice walk. Some forest as well. There's also a shuttle to the court building, if you can't make it by foot.
The building is home of the Coventry family since the 16th century. In it's current form it was transformed in 1751. It has quite the colorful history. For visitors as it is today it opened only in 2009.
It's a fantastic place to be, to walk around, to spend time at. We really enjoyed it. And it was fun for our Bulldog as well. Don't miss out on the beautiful St. Mary Magdalene Church. A real stunner.
A restaurant, some shops, toilets. All in the entrance area. Lots of staff...and all very friendly.
A great visit. And surely a place to come back next time we're in the area. read more
