The name alone is so cute and whimsical - who WOULDN'T want to visit a 'Pie Bar'!? This review will focus on some savory and dessert pies we ordered as takeout to serve at a party. Tofu Pot Pie - I love that this was an option - it's so hard to find a tofu pot pie anywhere, let alone in a cute little empanada style shape! One was pretty filling and could easily be a full lunch portion for some. The crust was buttery and flaky and perfectly golden, as was the crust on everything. Spanakopita Hand Pie - very tasty and flavorful. The darkness of the spinach threw me off at first, but this was really yummy and I could've eaten multiple. Street Corn Hand Pie - great flavors and unique combination Blackberry Tangerine Pie with crumble on top (I think this was the fruit combo?) - I'm not normally a huge fan of fruit pies as they just don't excite me as much, but this one had such a phenomenal sugary crumble on top that I ate it right up. The fruit wasn't too hard or too mushy and blended well together. Key Lime Pie - a very rich, creamy, decadent pie. This seems higher in cream content than some other key lime pies and filled me up quickly so I could only have a little bit in one sitting, but it's phenomenal. Many at the party went back for seconds of this one. Service - we called to place an order ahead of time. Day of, the Pie Bar called to say the tofu option was running low, but they could secure us some extras if we wanted since we only ordered one. We really only needed the one for the lone vegetarian, but this thoughtfulness was so appreciated! This place is a slam dunk and I always look forward to seeing what will be next on their rotating menu. I wish some of my favorites stayed around longer - I really loved their Mac n Cheese hand pie that I had once years ago - it was flaky and incredible, I dream of it!

The menu is nicely divided between sweet and savory. I got two specials. one savory pie, Moroccan inspired with lentils. There was only one dessert item left (3: o'clock or so) a brown butter pie. Wouldn't be my first choice but, like I said the only sweet left. Both about $6.00 and delicious! Service was excellent. They have it down to a science! The savory pie was warmed to perfection!

The ice cream is one size but it usually ends up being a delicious monstrosity- as I like to call it. So many toppings allowed to already great Thai Rolled Ice Cream! I can't pick a favorite flavor and it's great that they have staples and seasonal favorites. I usually go for the ice cream, but the Japanese (gf if you don't get the ones with cookies or pocky in it) crepes that come sweet or savory, drinks (especially if you go for their special light up, reusable, refillable, lightbulb receptacle that comes with a travel cap when not in use) and their specialty "Dragon's Breath" are so fun and tasty! Absolutely worth the stop into this little shop! The guy who is behind the counter is always friendly and quick. The inside is quaint and has nice music going on. When I got my light up drink, they had slight (not obnoxious) rave cover music and it went with the light show in my drink! I take all my out of town friends, and honestly local ones too, here and it's always a great experience!

The tea was wonderful and our lunch items came quickly and were tasty. We asked to keep a menu, explaining we would like to get dessert after. Once we we received our lunch food, it quickly went downhill. We never saw our waitress again after that. My son finished his Boba tea and wanted another, but our waitress never came over to check on us. We sat for over 40 minutes after we recieved our initial order and not one waitstaff came over to ask if we wanted anything else, nor did they come over to give us the check. After giving up hope of dessert and more tea, we eventually went to the front counter to pay since we realized no one was coming to give us the bill. Normally, I would understand if it was understaffed or busy- yet the two parties next to us had waitstaff come over numerous times. We were literally ignored. We won't be back and I do not recommend.

The tender moist beef slices on a roll were very good. The Ginger dressing on the salad was flavorful, and I wish I could buy it to elevate salads at home. An absolute hidden gem in New Lebanon!…read more OMG, what an adorable little cafe! We were in New Lebanon and looking for somewhere to eat around 7:30 PM. Being a small town, there weren't many options still open, so we called to see if they were still serving dinner. The sweetest lady answered and told us their kitchen closed at 8:00 PM, but they would still be happy to take us. We're SO glad we called! The moment we walked in, we loved the place. It was beautifully decorated, with fresh wildflowers they had picked themselves, the tables were set so nicely, and everything had such a warm, cozy, welcoming feel. We were seated immediately and had ice water at the table right away. The service from beginning to end was seriously top-notch. Then the wonderful lady helping us, and I'm so sorry we didn't get her name, brought out freshly baked mini blueberry muffins. OH. MY. GOODNESS. They were DELICIOUS. That was the moment we looked at each other and knew dinner was going to be good. And it absolutely was! Our daughter ordered an omelette, my wife had the steak frites, and I ordered the chicken piccata. Every single dish was delicious. My wife also ordered a blueberry cosmo, which she loved! At this point we were completely stuffed, but there was no way we were leaving without trying dessert. We ordered the red velvet cake AND the chocolate croissant bread pudding with vanilla ice cream. Did we need both? Absolutely not. Did we finish them anyway? Pretty much! The food was just THAT good. We kept telling ourselves we were full and somehow kept taking another bite. What really made this place special, though, was the hospitality. We came in close to closing time, and instead of ever making us feel rushed or like an inconvenience, they welcomed us with kindness and gave us a wonderful dinner experience. That says a lot about a place. 5 stars all the way. If you're anywhere near New Lebanon, do yourself a favor and stop here. Places like this deserve all the support and business they can get. Great food, beautiful atmosphere, and genuinely wonderful people. We will DEFINITELY be back, and next time we're coming for breakfast!

I picked up a matcha latte here, and my friend catered a delicious brunch from this spot!…read more I appreciated that the matcha didn't come pre-sweetened. It could've been whisked/blended a bit better (separated a bit), but I was happy with it overall. Regarding the catering, I was a big fan of the avocado toast (super fresh and creamy and nice flavor) and tasty muffins (I enjoyed the blueberry muffin.) It takes a bit to make drinks / food, so be sure to allocate some time--this isn't one of the factory-like cafes that churn out drinks / whip out ready-made food. The interior is cute and has assorted offerings of general foods/supplies that were fun to peruse.
