If you are staying at beautiful St James Bay and don't want to drive to Carrabelle or Panacea for food, this is a good option. Service is friendly and food is good. There is something for everybody on the menus. I have visited the restaurant several times and have always had a good experience. Most recently, I really enjoyed the Chicken Picatta. The desserts are pretty good too. The best thing about Crooked River Grill is the location. It's a great place for drinks and snacks with friends after a round of golf or pickleball.

Food is made to order and fresh. Hearty breakfast sandwichs and giant hamburgers. Great experience to a wonderful server named Jersey. She was very polite and made sure we had quick service to get back out on the golf course.

We were searching for lunch via Yelp on a roadtrip. Honestly we were disappointed that we could only find a golf course restaurant in the area. The wife was getting "hangry" so we thought we were surrendering to a mediocre meal. But alas, this grouper sandwich was the best we'd had on our roadtrip around the gulf from Tampa to New Orleans. Perfectly prepared, mouth watering, tasty fries & friendly service. Thanks for the pleasant surprise & wonderful meal.

Delicious grilled seafood and great hospitality! We were staying at the resort so we decided to eat in the restaurant. There were lots of seafood options on the menu and on the recommendation of Jessica, we tried the Ochlockonee Bay Sampler - a platter with grouper, shrimp, scallops and crab cake that we had cooked blackened style. The seafood was super tasty and there was enough to feed both of us (we'd had a good lunch). The staff were super friendly - and I loved the Margaritas!!

Shrimp and grits! Look close for the texture...my mouth is watering!

Food was very good. Service was good but very slow. TVs and Bars restraint is pretty big.

The food was horrible. The Mashed potatoes were extremely too creamy and the salmon was over seasoned.

While the service is good, the food has recently become mediocre and the prices exorbitant.

We were looking for a seafood place on our first night in Carrabelle Beach. The Red Pirate was…read morehighly recommended by several we asked and they he menu looked good so we drove over. It was quite crowded so there was a 30 minute wait. We didn't mind because there was a lot to explore and plenty of seating outside. There was a mini golf course, a gift shop and two more dining rooms. Both of those had a bar, dimmer lighting and live music plus one had outdoor seating. We didn't know they had other dining rooms so I told the hostess First Available. We ended up in the family dining room. Not complaining; just informing you that you do have a choice. You can get drinks in there but it doesn't have the atmosphere of the two bars. We were seated and ordered a Coke and a Coke Zero. I tasted mine and it had this awful muddy flavor that lingered. I looked at Jenn and she had the same look on her face. I don't know what was wrong with those drinks but they were so so bad. We told the server and she swapped both for ice tea. Sadly the tea had the same dirty disgusting taste. I don't know what's in the water there but it almost made me retch. We didn't order anything else to drink. We both ordered appetizers next- I got coconut shrimp and Jenn got the Buffalo Skins, basically loaded tater skins. Both were delicious!!! The appetizers were generous portions and quite filling. Jenn didn't want an entree after that but I ordered one - the southern fried chicken sandwich with a loaded baked potato. I should've followed Jenn's lead and skipped the entree. By the time it arrived (which wasn't an unreasonable wait) I was full, quite thirsty and ready to go. The sandwich looked very good, as did the tater but I couldn't eat it. I asked for a box and took it all back to our AirBnB. I did nibble to taste the fried chicken and it was quite good. I'm a fried chicken snob and quite picky. It was hot, not too much breading, well seasoned and the fillet was juicy. The only down side was the sauce on it. It was awful! I used a napkin to try to wipe it off. The server did ask me if I wanted it and I said yes (it was listed on the menu with the sandwich). I should've asked for it on the side. If you order the chicken sandwich you might consider asking for the special sauce on the side. I'm sure many people like it but for me it ruined the sandwich. I did bring the sandwich and baked tater back and will eat it later if I can. The baked potato looked very good, not too small and very well loaded. I didn't taste it though so I can't tell you much about it. They brought the sour cream separately too. Smart! Now I can reheat the tater. I didn't try any of the seafood except the coconut shrimp. I have to say it was excellent-large shrimps and a generous portion. I didn't need the entree at all. The place seems very popular and I will suggest giving it a try. I didn't notice anyone else complaining about the drinks so I don't know how to explain our experience with the Cokes and the tea. Neither of us could drink even one drink of them. I read reviews after we left and one even mentioned the delicious water. Maybe tuck a bottle of Aquafina in your bag or pocket, just in case.

A great place to go for a cocktail in a comfortable environment. The bartenders know their craft…read moreand mix some wonderful drinks. The pictures are from a recent event they did to showcase Monkey Shoulder whisky. They also now offer charcuterie boards from Little Paris, a restaurant nearby. A nice addition! But here's what's really great about the Lounge: if you aren't sure what brand or type of liquor you might want to buy or try, ask for a flight. We wanted to explore various toed of gin and they poured us a flight of different brands. But more than that, they poured it for us straight up and with tonic so we could try then both ways. Then, since they are part of and connected to the liquor store, we could go next door and buy the gins we liked. Pretty cool and very convenient.

Spirit availability was impressive for the size lounge. I was interested in Redbreast Irish Whiskey and they had 12, 15, and wow 21!!! The lounge inside was what I consider small, bar seating, and some table and comfortable chairs. The outside area was covered. Comfortable chairs with tables and ashtrays to handle about 25+/-. Two TV's. There are standing fans and heaters. There was no service to the outside area, so you picked-up your choice of spirit and got comfortable outside. We enjoyed our spirit and cigars with no one complaining about the smoke. It happened to be a very rainy night and the north area was a bit flooded, but no leaks from above. Pro Great selection of spirits. Cigar and I think cigarettes, evidence by butts in the ashtrays, are allowed outside. The inside lounge was very clean, as well as the two unisex bathrooms. Con The flooded area was unfortunate, but there was only three of us, and it didn't cause an issue. The Ashtrays had been mostly emptied, but not wiped down. Really not inviting to rest your cigar on a dirty ashtray. An easy wipe with a microfiber goes a long way. Not really a Con, but there was no Service outside on the Tuesday night we visited. Overall a nice experience for a dreary night. My friends and I will return, hopefully on a nicer evening. Note: If you don't bring your own cigar, the liquor store has a small selection available right next door.

And I think this might be our favorite of the week. Definitely off the grid and what you might call a hole in the wall, looks like a local's favorite as well.
