Last night they had entertainment outside and the weather was delightful and we were able to experience the Bourne River Morris Men. It added so much charm to our visit. This is a 400-year-old structure that has been updated so you have all the amenities that you need. Each room has its own name. We stayed in the Fossil Forest.

The decor may not be that modern or flash, but the food and the service was great. It's a Friday, so the pub was probably a bit busier than ususal, but it had a nice friendly atmosphere and there were lots of board games to keep us entertained too. We both had the fish pie and rated it very highly. It was full of fish (not sure if local, but tasty nonetheless), and piled high with creamy, cheesy mash - perfect! If you are staying in Lulworth Cove, I recommend this place. It's slightly further afield (away from the Cove itself), about a 10 min walk along the main road, but definitely worth heading in that direction for. There's accomodation too, but can't comment on that as we didn't stay.

We saw this nice looking pub in the tiny village and thought we'd give it a try. Was lovely inside, traditional pub like interior with plenty to look at inside. The food was exceptional, we both had Steak baguettes and they were amazing! Something so simple but the ingredients and the time spent to make the perfect lunch really showed! This is a true farm to table restaurant. We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch that included the 'piggy and fishies' tray, homemade warm bread, cauliflower soup and fish and pork chop mains. Absolutely fantastic meal with wine pairings. We then retired to the lounge for coffee and a bit of a rest before the journey home. A+! The ambiance is 'elegant countryside' and service was top notch. I absolutely must return here with my family in short order as they would love it. The place was empty when we visited and I was a little worried about the kind of food I was about to get. I was very pleased to find the hotel has free wifi for guests and the real ale in the bar was very well kept. I had a nice starter and a butternut squash and goats cheese risotto in the restaurant and enjoyed the food very much. As this Inn is right in the middle of Corfe it is ideal for exploring the beautiful castle which is just outside the pub and rises over the garden of the inn.

Vastly superior to Travelodges though sometimes almost as cheap, or even cheaper when they offer special deals (three nights for the price of two, etc). The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable, with plenty of storage and a superior standard of furniture and fittings. Our room had a telephone, large flat-screen TV, tea and coffee making facilities with lots of teabags, hot chocolate and fresh biscuits each day. In addition to the large bed was a plush two-seater settee. The en-suite had a large power shower and, again, the tiling and fittings were of a high standard for a budget hotel. There's a modern lift to rooms (very good disabled access), beautiful carpets and curtains, and a foyer with local information and a sweets and chocolate machine. Breakfast came free with the room rate and was served across a short walkway in the Jack Rabbit pub. It consisted of a continental-style buffet with an excellent choice of cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, breads, toast, preserves and croissants. A machine provided good quality teas or coffees. You can eat as much as you wish and there are helpful staff on hand to assist if need be. A free newspaper (Daily Mail) was also available each day. All in all, a superb value package at only £89 for 3 nights (the special offer this month)! Certainly a chain to watch - there are 200 branches around the country and more planned.
