From panic to calm -- thanks to Rapid Response…read more The other night I spotted a bat hanging in our stairwell and was absolutely terrified. I called several places, but Rapid Response was the only one willing to come out right away. Lonnie came, safely removed the bat (while I was ducking and screaming as it flew around!), and then inspected our property. He discovered we needed work in the attic to get the bats out, keep them out, and sanitize the area. He provided a very reasonable estimate and said he could start the work right away. I felt a little foolish for being so scared of a tiny bat, but Lonnie was nothing but kind, patient, and courteous. In a moment when I was flustered and afraid, he helped me stay calm -- which was almost as valuable as getting the bat out! I highly recommend Rapid Response.

If you had an ant problem in your home, how would you feel if you called an exterminator who came…read moreto your home and offered you a $7,000 solution to include tearing out and replacing all of your attic insulation, and installing gutter guards on your home... all without any kind of photographic proof that the source of the infestation had been discovered and that the expensive solution offered was absolutely necessary to solve the problem? And if you rejected the $7, 000 solution because it was too expensive, and then you were immediately offered a $4,000 solution without the attic work, would you wonder why the attic work was ever suggested in the first place? Remember, this is a problem with ants in the house. Would you expect to pay $7,000, or even $4,000 to get rid of ants? Or would you perhaps expect a more conservative solution like spraying inside the home, spraying the perimeter outside, and setting some ant bait products around to see if those solutions which would cost maybe $300-$400 at most could potentially resolve the problem, before being offered a far more expensive option? This was the experience my elderly sister-in-law and her two elderly roommates had with this company, Rapid Response. I have previously written a more detailed review and received several responses from the business owner, but apparently Yelp has relegated that review to the "This review is not recommended" category, and it had no impact on the overall business rating (which is 5-star based on one review). I believe you can read much of the original review (though not all of it) if you scroll down to see reviews that are "not recommended". If you look up my profile, particularly on Google reviews, you will discover that I am not a "ranter". Every review there is a five-star review, because I believe in calling out businesses that provide outstanding service. Because of the experience my sister-in-law had with his company, I absolutely felt compelled to write this 1-star review for Rapid Response. During this review process, I had two phone calls with Andy T., the business owner. He defended the company's business practices outlined in my original review. I found him to be dishonest in his responses to my concerns. For instance, his written replies included an assertion that he performed only services that were "signed off on" in a contract. At my request, he provided copies of the contracts, none of which were signed by the customer. He also asserted that he had many photos, before and after, showing the source of the ant infestation, particularly the gutter. When requested, no such photos were provided. The two photos he sent show no insects, nor did they show the gutters at all. This is a small sample of the dishonesty I experienced with this company. Writing our original review had nothing to do with wanting or expecting any financial considerations. It was all about alerting people to what we believed were unethical business practices. We never once requested any kind of a financial solution. However, during our final conversation on May 29, 2026, Andy in fact DID offer a partial refund of the amount my sister-in-law paid him. However, the offer included the stipulation that we remove our negative review. We declined to remove the review, and Andy promptly WITHDREW his offer of a refund. My sister-in-law was adamant that I not remove the review, because she believed she had been taken advantage of as an elderly person, and it was more important to her to warn other elderly people to be careful not to make the mistakes she did in choosing a company with questionable (at best) business practices. Fortunately for Andy, Yelp's algorithm unexpectedly bumped my review into a "Not Recommended" category (for reasons that are unclear to me), making it less visible to those reading reviews. As a result, Andy's 5-Star rating (based on one review) remains unimpacted by my review. He got what he wanted without having to pay the refund he offered. I believe it was important and worth my time, (with my sister-in-law's blessing and encouragement) to write this subsequent review, hoping it will remain visible, in order to prevent other elderly people from being taken advantage of by businesses that would up-sell services to a population that is more easily taken advantage of. Elderly people are more prone to fear, they are more trusting of people who are friendly and convincing, and they are often less knowledgeable about how to investigate service providers online, prior to engaging them. We believe that Rapid Response clearly took advantage of my sister-in-law and her elderly roommates. We leave it to the readers of this review to determine if this is the kind of company they wish to do business with. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH RAPID RESPONSE.
