The receptionist was very nice and I was thrilled to be able to schedule a same day appointment with Ashley, their groomer. Dropped my pup off at 10:00am. I met with Ashley and we talked about the cut I wanted. She was sweet and seemed very attentive and qualified. They called to say my pup was ready by 2:00. His cut was beautifully smooth and short just as I'd discussed with Ashley. His nails were trimmed and gently rounded and he was pretty and clean. Most importantly, he was HAPPY as they led him to the lobby! Compared to other groomers we've used, See Spot's prices were comparable and the service was superior. I do not find the receipt "add tip" line offensive, in fact, I find it much easier to add a tip to my credit card receipt rather than coming up with cash. The dogs in the daycare seemed very happy and well cared for, as was was my sweet pup when I picked him up! OverallI, I am very impressed with my puppy's and will be back!

My 80 pound dog is a big baby and has screamed as if he's being murdered at every other groomer. Not at Woof's. He loves them. Today he refused to be groomed until the ladies all petted him! They do exceptional grooming work. My little dog always looks like a little princess when they're done. And since they get my big boy to cooperate, they're able to give him a full deshedding treatment. I have never seen a dog's coat so shiny! He sheds like, well, a big dog! They're pros at removing his undercoat and making him glossy-looking and much less prone to shedding. We love Woof's!

This is one of very few places, that I could find, who will work with the certain quirks of a husky, especially my stubborn, but sweet husky. Our appointments have always been kept as they were booked and completed in the appropriate time frame for 2 dogs to be groomed. The owner is very sweet and caring! She really puts a lot of attention to detail in the work that she does and you can tell she loves all animals! In my experience she has been very responsive and prompt to texts and other means of communication. I love being able to support small businesses in my local community and this is one of my favorites!

My husband and I were extremely pleased with Linda's Beginner Obedience classes. We enrolled our…read morerescue into the 7 week program and I truly think it has changed our bond with him. Linda has a lot of insight and years of experience with training and the level of confidence she has with these dogs is remarkable. Our rescue knew very little commands, was horrible on a leash, and would get so excited around dogs he would bark like crazy. After speaking with Linda and finishing the course, I can walk him by myself safely and he is no longer chasing after every animal and barking. She also takes time to speak with you each class if needed and allows you to make up a class if you already have a prior commitment during that time of day. My caution to people who decide to sign up is the effectiveness of the classes are entirely dependent on the owner. Linda will teach you everything you need to know each week as we progress but it is very evident the owners that do not take the time to train their dog at home. They end up not continuing because it requires the owner to enforce what they've learned and continue it at home. It does not happen overnight but I guarantee if you continue to work with them you will have the same success we have had with our dog!

After a few seconds he brought my little female dog out and said give me a second your other one doesn't seem to be fond of me - I don't think he likes men so I'll let my wife get him. I didn't even have to say anything! That is when you know you're around people who really care about dogs. True dog lovers have an intuition and an understanding of pet body language! I have never used any one else in Louisville since that day. We love it there!

To say that we take daycare and boarding for CJ, our golden retriever mix, seriously is a major…read moreunderstatement! We arrived in Louisville just over three years ago and we tried MANY other places around town. Some were ok, some I would never take her back to, but NONE of them compare to Barks on Bauer! The first time we met the owners, Lynda and Bill, we felt immediately at ease. It's just so obvious how much they love animals! Moreover, they actually live on the second floor of the building, meaning that there's always someone on site when we leave our girl there overnight. Their space is clean, modern, and the dogs clearly love it! CJ knows the route from our house to Barks and once it's clear that's where we're heading she actually starts squeaking with anticipation and can't wait to get in the door. If there's any question that she loves it, when we come to pick her up, she runs to greet us, but then runs back to say "goodbye" to Bill before we can leave! The location itself is very convenient and the on-site parking makes drop off and pick up a breeze. There's also a peace of mind that comes with knowing that there's an animal hospital adjacent to Barks and that the two businesses have a great relationship. When it comes to cost and convenience, we've never found a better place! We've had family emergencies arise and they have been able to take CJ for a few nights with very little notice, something we still deeply appreciate. Finally, I'd be remiss not to mention how much CJ loves daycare there! After being so excited to get there, she spends a day playing and then comes home absolutely exhausted. If it's true that a tired dog is a happy dog, then we have one happy girl on Barks days! Not only that, but it really takes her a couple days to recover completely from a day of daycare. Of course, I think she gets extra excited when someone has a birthday and they have a party. Yep, that's right, dog birthday parties at dog day care. And the pictures they post online are even better than you'd imagine! We have have only had wonderful experiences with Barks on Bauer and, if it isn't obvious, we take caring for CJ pretty seriously! I absolutely recommend Barks to any dog owner who's looking for socialization, a caring team, and a wonderful experience for their dog!

I appreciate that Bill and Lynda are crazy-dog friendly. Winnie is an 85 pound lab and mastiff mix. She is every stereotypical thing you've heard about young labs. She's very sweet and friendly - but she's also a high energy vocal spazz. She's stayed at other facilities that were clearly annoyed by her rambunctious nature - so I always appreciate that Bill and Lynda seem happy when she visits. Bill and Lynda are also neurotic-owner friendly. They reply to my check-ins quickly. As time has went on I typically only check on her once a day (which is a significant decrease) - but that just goes hand in hand with trusting that they are caring for her. Anyone who has ever loved an animal knows that it can be difficult to leave them places - but that burden is eased when you feel like they are in capable and loving hands. Barks on Bauer also provides other services such as in-home pet sitting, dog walking, baths, nail trims, and birthday parties. If your dog needs medications, they're able to give them what they need. I love that they post pictures and videos of the dogs on Facebook so you can see them playing. They're literally right behind Chenoweth Animal Hospital - which is comforting to me to know they're so close in case anything happened.
