dr. Johnson had saved Noah's life. I've had Noah since September 2025 after the passing of my brother I really need an animal and I got to a brother and sister. I was having a difficult time with the place. I was I was with they wouldn't help or discuss anything and so one of my neighbors have referred Dr. Johnson's office and let me say she put me at ease. I have very high anxiety and I love these animals and they have all I got she helped me she let me in as that day to see did heart disease testing and Noah ended up having a blood clot and the other veterinary place only told me to give them certain kind of but he had a blood and a bladder infection and he's only a year old and so I am so grateful for her she explained so much she so nice so much bedside manner a We have just talked on the phone and I started crying, but she saved his life and made me understand and answered all my questions without feeling like I was a hassle she has a office that is beautiful my mom had said when she picked up Noah, very comforting, and it really felt like she really loves animals and the other place in Mt. Washington. I have to say I not mention their name but no phone calls . the doctors were out that day and so I was told I was gonna get a call on Monday and Noah could've died, but Dr. Johnson's office helped me and helped me with payments and everything and I am grateful so grateful for her and that office and the people .please go to Dr. Johnson's office if you love your animals like they're your own kids that's the place to go. Dr. Johnsen and staff are excellent for all of our furbabies. The whole family takes all of our animals to her; 5 dogs and 1 cat (2-Belgium Malinois) all together. She always finds the answer, very good at what she does and very inexpensive for the services she provides all of the animals. Hands down the best vet we've been to over the years. read more

I visited this practice on several occasions and this entire clinic smells like cat urine. There are multiple obviously sick cats wandering around freely, coughing and sneezing everywhere. They had me put a 6 ounce kitten on a huge dirty dog scale that infected cats had just been sitting on. These cats populate the waiting room and enter the exam rooms, smelling and hissing at your pet and climbing in their carriers. Large Dobermans belonging to the vet also burst into exam rooms from the back and will scare you & your animal. No surfaces are clean and the staff is very unprofessional, asking me to put my pet on a crusty table. I asked them to clean spilled meds off it and she sprayed it with one squirt of glass cleaner instead of antibacterial spray and it didn't even come clean. Not unexpectedly my animal got a respiratory illness after visiting. I've taken my animal to another vet who had to redo one of his immunizations because it was given too early. The practice I now go to said they get patients coming to them weekly with all the same complaints and more. I only went there because my best friend's daughter worked there but they harassed her based on her nationality. The woman who works there even told me she liked her because "her people make good cleaners!" I asked if she meant because she's Latina and she said yes. My friend's daughter has resigned and the entire staff including the dr/owner has continued to harass her via phone, social media, and even the mail. They also like to block people from their business page on Facebook who have had bad experiences or leave negative reviews, have reviews removed, etc to skew their ratings to look more positive. They literally don't care if people know they are racist. Don't go here. read more

Do yourself and your animal a favor and NEVER take them to Johnsen Veterinary Services in Mount Washington. Diesel had never been there before but they've been in business in mount Washington for a long time. We went today for nail trim, gland cleaning, and to treat an ear infection he has. They must not realize how thin their walls are and how you can hear everything they say to your dog. Things such as "stupid ass stubborn dog" "this is the most stubborn dog I've met" "he's fucking evil" "he fucking stinks" "he makes me want to puke". Well let me just say, glands are going to stink when you clean them out, welcome to being a vet. I worked at a groomer while in high school it's not a pleasant smell. Get over it or find a new field. Secondly let me say, my dog is FAR from evil, she said this because he supposedly bit her. In the 5 years that diesel has been alive he has NEVER once bit anyone. He will lick you to death and want loves from you but that's it. That's another thing the doctor and so called vet tech were pissed about. He licked them both and I thought they were going to lose it. I tried to tell the vet that he is traumatized by getting his nail clipped and will wiggle his way out if he can figure a way out. I also told her his old vet in Indiana used to give him a lick pad with peanut butter on it and he stayed still for her. Her response was "ehh I like drugs better". Ma'am? Did they not teach you least invasive in whatever college you went to?! You would rather drug a dog than give them a lick pad with peanut butter? Are you kidding me?! It took everything in me to not bust through the door into their exam room area and act a complete fool. Instead I took their loop lead off, threw it down, and went to check out. When I went to check out the lady at the register could clearly tell I was PISSED. Probably fuming at this point, she asked me if I was okay and I said absolutely not, it's not okay to talk to a dog like that or treat a dog like that. I don't even talk to him or treat him like that, what makes it okay for y'all to? She explained to me that the vet tech was new and that she would have a word with her but I let them know I'll never be back and neither will diesel. He's like my kid and I promise this Mom doesn't let that shit fly. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This is a picture of him as soon as we got home. He was so stressed out and traumatized his eyes are completely blood shot. I left there without getting any heartworm, flea or tick preventative like I had planned because I just wanted to get him out of that place. I have no clue how this place has been open as long as it has but I can tell you one thing for sure I wouldn't trust these people ever again. I'd also like to add, the vet I'm referring to was Dr Johnsen herself. Far from professional. I was definitely in fight or flight mode and knew I needed to get my dog and myself out of there quick. Do not trust these people with your animal and for the love of God don't leave them alone with your animals. Also might I add read her condescending, narcissistic comments on any of her bad reviews on Google. Shows her character. She must block negative reviews on her business Facebook as well, so I'll just warn everyone on here and Google that I can. read more

The only reason I'm giving this a one star, is because the vet was very educational for me, since I moved here from a different state.....However, if you're not used to walking into a vet clinic with a HUGE Doberman pincher and two cats, who roam free, in which one cat has a horrible sneeze with white stuff that comes out of its mouth, then beware!!! The Vet was nice, but I was not comfortable with a HUGE "puppy" Doberman who at one point got so rough with my puppy (literally 4 month old puppy), that I had to get in between the two, so that the rough play from the Doberman would stop!! The office girls were trying their best to keep the dog away from my puppy, but let's be honest, the Doberman was untrained, didn't listen to commands, and as much as the vet says that "Oh it's fine, he's just a big ole' puppy".... it WASN'T fine! I love dogs, I love all animals, and I do believe that the vet does also. However, this was just too much for me, personally. I'll never go back there. If you choose to go here, the staff were nice, Vet was fine... but I don't care to be greeted by a huge dog who doesn't know how to behave. At one point, he had his mouth open around my puppy's neck.... no he didn't bite her, but Themis is not acceptable play as far as I'm concerned. ....This is a nightmare waiting to happen.... a ticking time bomb! read more

Dr. Johnsen and her staff are excellent! They show genuine care for my two dogs. They aren't the most well behaved dogs, but they still show them the same love and care that I give them. They also send me reminders in the mail and on e-mail when they are due for vaccines and check-ups. Highly recommended! read more

Took my 17-year-old cat there. They were professional yet affectionate to my beloved pal. Diagnosis of an abdomen-area tumor was tough news to take but they were understanding and helpful. We considered the option of surgery. They kept her over for two nights but felt she responded well enough to IV fluids and prescription food that we all thought best to let her live through her condition at her age. The large downside isn't entirely their fault: My cat is again not eating the specialized food a few days into treatment. I will next try to rotate food before again looking at other professional medical options. I wish more alternatives for digestion treatment would have been considered given the $400+ spent for two nights of care, IV fluids, eight cans of food, a blood test, and evaluation (the tumor was diagnosed by hand). read more
