The plates were filling, but don't expect to take home leftovers. I ordered a cheese enchilada with red sauce. The red sauce tasted like a mole and it was delicious! The beans and rice were good too. My husband ordered a chile relleno that tasted fresh. The batter wasn't too thick and it had the same red sauce. The complimentary chips and salsa came with both spicy and mild. The spicy was better and not too hot! It wasn't the best Mexican food I'd ever had but it was perfect for lunch and I'd go back. The staff was very friendly and our food came out quickly. We have been traveling down the coast, eating at a wide variety of places on our trip. We would GLADLY drive extra time to come back to Cristina's - the food was amazing, the staff was happy and friendly, and they were so FAST! Our group of 8 were completely done eating dinner and out the door within about 70 minutes (from sit to stand). We ended up ordering a round of flour tortillas as dessert on our way out the door, they're that good. We cannot recommend it higher. Go here, go here, GO HERE! First time here based on the reviews. Food is good but not great. Lots of locals seem to go here so we thought it would be THE place for Mexican food. My wife ordered carne asada tacos and I got a pork burrito. She said her tacos were good and my burrito was just OK. Too much sauce and refried beans in the burrito made the pork tasteless. However, the pork was tender. It also appeared that the burrito shell was store bought. Very disappointing and I doubt I would go back. read more

I love this place! I used to live in the area but moved away. Whenever I come to town I make a stop at Cristina's. It's a nice family owned restaurant. The staff is always so friendly and very attentive. We were greeted when we entered and within a few minutes of seating ourselves we were provided with chips, salsa and menus. There isn't a single thing on the menu that isn't excellent. I had the sopito with seasoned pork, my friend had a green burrito. Everything was very tasty. It was a difficult choice picking what to have for dinner. Interestingly their hamburger is one of my favs (funny since it's a Mexican restaurant). Even their fountain drinks are very good - Vanilla Coke (they mix it for you, not from a can) and I especially like the pink ladies. One can enjoy the typical cuisine - tacos, enchiladas, burritos, etc, however, they have a dish that's not on the menu, which is worth a try. Those in the know can request the rice and beans special, which is, perhaps not surprisingly, rice and beans resting on top of a simple salad, topped with an incredibly generous portion of fresh avocado. Pour a little (or a lot, if you're me) of Cristina's glorious salsa on top, and you're ready for a delicious dining experience. The staff is welcoming and efficient, and even our special orders were prepared perfectly. The guacamole and salsa are particularly lovely here - I recommend you try both. read more

We were there at the end of their business day so it was understandable that they would be out of the guacamole I ordered. The young man that served us went to the kitchen and made me some. Above and beyond and greatly appreciated. The gal who helped make our food brought it out to us enthusiastically. People don't generally do that when they're trying to close up. The host was another smiling face from beginning to end. The food was great but the service alone made return customers out of us. It didn't hurt that our server has lived in my hometown in SoCal. The winning plate of the evening for us was the Tamale covered in their homemade Chili Colorado.
