Unlike what the name of the restaurant implies, the menu is not focused solely on New York City foods. Rather it is broadly American, with items from New York cuisine, Tex Mex cuisine, southern American cuisine, and others. I had a cheeseburger and fries and also tried the eggs Benedict. The burger was exceptionally well cooked, juicy and tender, but perhaps a bit underseasoned. The fries were similarly underseasoned but well cooked, just like the burger. The eggs were pretty good but nothing spectacular. Prices are very high and perhaps a little too high considering quality and portion size. Overall a good experience at Main St. Deli but one that I wouldn't recommend going too far out of your way to try.

The desserts (Tiramisu & Belgian Rustic Almond Kiss) were good! I'm a huge dessert fan, so anything sweet is right up my alley. That being said, I'm not a huge fan of the other stuff we ordered. The best dish was the Chicken Waterzooi, which was supposedly cooked in beer reduction, but just tasted really cheesy to me - which I'm ok with (also a huge fan of cheese). The other dishes we got were just plan disaster. The prosciutto tartine which was supposed to come with buffalo mozarella came without the cheese, and with a friendly hair on it. Not great. So we sent it back and got a new one, which tasted alright, but not good enough for the price. The stars are for their exceptional customer service though - the staff were friendly and super nice. Now they just have to get their food up to speed.

Which is nice in the cooler months. And a lot of people overlook it so it's a nice quiet work space. - Pet friendly. There's even a puppachino for the pets. - Good food also. I like the pasta here. - Cheap co-working space upstairs (which may or may not be related). But they use the same bathrooms anyway.

I'm not an adventurer with meat (especially offal) but I have tried some seafood and fish at his suggestions. He's hit the mark a few times and the steamed squid with vegetables has become my regular. It's around 70HKD and comes with a ton (!) of broccoli and squid. I love seafood and I have cringe at the look of some seafood dishes in restaurants where you have to stir the ingredients to see any trace of it. The portions here are amazing, as I could also experience with my omelette...there was food for two at least. My friends have gone for noodles most of the time and their plates have always ended up empty. Also, their big bottles of beer are very cheap. The decoration has nothing remarkable to say, but that everything looks very clean. I love the fact that their kitchen is partially opened: it's also clean and tidy, which says a lot. Located on the hilly Elgin street, WTF has been an easy expat friendly dinner spot and an even more intimate after meal drinks destination. The vibe gets even more interesting and pleasantly smokey with the late night hookah crowd. With its narrow interior and high ceilings, things can get a bit messy when the place is packed. This is not the type of place to move around and mingle when the seats are filled, so consider coming out on a weeknight or make reservations to secure a spot. Bathrooms are a bit of a misnomer as well, but keep the sangria to a minimum if you don't feel like doing the deed in a tight space. Speaking of sangria, their house red is easy on the lips. It's not potent enough to cause any funny faces but it's tasty enough to merit more than one glass. Their happy hour at one point was 2 for 1, which included cocktails and other beverages -- though I'm not sure if it still exists. I've had a quality margarita or two here, which is a good alternative to non-Sangria / wine-os. If there was any surprise, it was the food. Tapas were never meant to be portion heavy and they're pricey ($88-120HKD) but they're also really solid. The patatas bravas are a tasty staple, seasoned well, and feature a dollop of crema on top for some textural fun. I have high regard for the croquetas de jamon y queso, which is a crunchy mesh of ham bits and cheese and quite pleasing on the palate. Perhaps the biggest surprise was the gambas al ajillo, an easy dish to mess up but done quite well here. The shrimp were tender and juicy, retaining all the elements of a quality dish. I was less thrilled with the albondigas con salsa tomate, only because the meatballs themselves were a bit tough to chew but the salsa was on point. The same could be said for the chuletas de cordiro, a set of grilled lamb chops, which were more chewy than tender. And what should've been the star of the show, the jamon serrano, was disappointingly a few thin slices at something like 248HKD. I have no doubt they were imported from the source, but they didn't muster enough of a tastebud bang as I would have hoped. Then there is the hookah. Soho prices mean it doesn't come cheap, but the sting of the price tag is softened when puffing flavored tobacco with a group of people. The staff is usually good about coming to help rid the ashes and performing some occasional hookah maintenance. The reality of a long lasting puck is almost never enough to keep it interesting. And to that, I say WTF.
