What I wanted, grey with dark ombre ends and minimal lowlights. THIS IS NOT WHAT I GOT!

Finally, after years of fighting with my grey hair I decided to embrace it and allow it to go natural...with a little help initially. My goal was to remove the color, add in majority grey with some dark ombre ends and a few low lights and allow it to grew in and blend naturally. I knew this would be an expensive, time consuming task, and one only a professional colorist should tackle. A color expert would be the equivalent of a specialty doctor - one with a license and specialized training. I researched what I wanted online to see if it was doable and read up on the technique, processing, and time required. I did not go into this blindly. I knew my hair would need to be stripped of all the dye and I would be sitting hours in the salon chair. I was prepared. I had two months of regrowth. The only thing I needed was to find an expert colorist to preform the transition. Google lead me to this salon whom I've never heard of before. I called and asked about a consult, as I wanted to make sure they knew exactly what I wanted and my expectations. The consult was $50, only after I asked if it is applied to the appointment cost did they say yes. This was not willingly volunteered. At the consult, I did feel like I lead the conversation, as Tina said very little. I had pictures of the results I wanted and also let her know that I did my research and knew my hair would need to be stripped. I questioned her when she insisted it did not, and that she could achieve this look with color, in only a few hours. Hesitant and very nervous about booking I ultimately agreed, trusting her experience and education. The price was equivalent to a month's worth of groceries and was by far the most expensive salon experience I've ever had. At the appointment, Tina worked on me, as well as her assistant and an apprentice. The room was quietly awkward. I felt like I needed to keep talking to get the energy going. The salon itself is beautifully designed, clean, and masculine as it's on the dark side. I had my picture out and showed her again what I was looking for, even questioning if ombre was being done when I was in foils, since I was at a color bar and not seated in front of a mirror. The apprentice was the one who washed me out. Since the price was already high enough I decided against a style, since everything is al la carte. I did get a blow-dry. While Tina did it with a round brush, I would not really call it a style as it wasn't curled with the brush. Initially when dry I knew right away it didn't match the picture nor was it ombre, but with the lighting in there appeared to be a salt and pepper. My goal all along was to let it grow in naturally and blend seamlessly without having to color my roots, so although it wasn't what I wanted, if the color was right I would have been ok. It did feel nice and silky. I generously tipped both Tina and her apprentice. Imagine my surprise when outside in the natural light I inspected my hair and saw yellow, not even blond but yellow. I was not happy. Now not only did I not get the color I wanted, but it was brassy yellow, with a blob of dark hair dye right at my cowlick. My daughter saw it as well and the first thing she said was it's not gray it's yellow. After living with it for about an hour I decided it was time to call them, which I did and was instructed to come back. I expressed my concerns to Tina, who seemed totally confused by my claim of yellow and the blob. She tried to blame the color blob on my skin, than insisted that once it grows in it will blend. She refused any sort of partial refund, and also refused to redo the entire color. She then proceeded to say "it looked better than when I walked in" after I told her this was a basic 80's frost and tip that I could have gotten done at a strip mall salon for $75 - which is in fact true. After much going back and forth, she did fix the blob and gave me two small bottles of purple hair products to help with the brassiness. She also insisted when the grey grew in that I'd like it more. I now have a good bit of regrowth and definitely don't love it, as now I'm back to square one, only with three colors of hair; grey regrowth, brown, and yellow. So not only did I spend a fortune to not get what I want, but now I have to pay more to someone else to fix it. Not only is the color all wrong, but so is the placement of the color. It was also poorly executed, as I had a big color blob, and also some root showing where the dye was not brushed to the scalp. Also, when I got the emailed receipt I was charged $55 alone for the blow dry that wasn't even a style! Disappointed is an understatement. The brassy yellow wouldn't even be an acceptable "highlight". It looks like a failed home foil.

I have been going to Cris Jon Salon since 2019. I moved from the Philadelphia area to Lititz. Steph has been my hair stylist , colorist since my move. I cannot say enough about Steph and the other professionals at Cris Jon. I am a busy professional trying to navigate my schedule. I have appreciated the flexibility to work with scheduling to get me in during important moments in my life. My daughter was married in April ... Steph made me feel beautiful. My hair stayed perfect into the brunch the following day. I am a brunette who went blonde due to early graying. My hair always feels healthy. I appreciate the calm , quiet , and well designed atmosphere at Cris Jon. It allows me quiet time in busy days. I highly recommend Cris Jon if you are looking for a high end salon without overpricing. I am never disappointed.

Discovered this hair salon when I moved here from out of state. Very quiet and accommodating in every way. Stephanie is very educated and really knows how to color and cut hair. It looks so natural and always takes the time to get it right the first time. Cris Jr. is also a very educated and knowledgeable person in the way he cuts my hair hair. Never in a rush but takes the time to make sure it's very easy to style at home because of his expertise and the way it's cut. I would highly recommend this place if you want a phenomenal cut and color and price is very comparable to the other salons in the Lancaster area.

My daughter went in for a color. She has dark hair and wanted it dyed pink. She was told by calling them and having a consultation that they could do this process, with confidence, and that they knew what they were doing. My daughter showed a picture to them of what she wanted and they said yeah, no problem. She made an appointment for an over 200 dollar service. Steph stripped her hair of color and my daughter questioned the splotchiness in her hair but Steph told her it was fine. She then proceeded to put the color on while her hair was wet which shouldn't of been done. Some colors can be put on wet but not suggested by manufacturers of the colors used on my daughters hair. It was partially done in places and no color in others. Then the manager Tina turned around and put purple in her hair. My daughter asked for pink and her hair came out, purple kind of pink, kind of orange, brown on the ends and splotchy all over. She was very disappointed but the stylists kept saying it was fine it looked good. My daughter came home and it looked ridiculous and certainly not what was asked for or promised. My daughter called they told her to come back and they would take care of her. My daughter decided to go back because it would cost twice as much to go to another salon for a color correction. So she decided to go back to allow them to correct their mistakes. I went with her and they have no idea what they're doing. They are very unprofessional. They tried to gaslight my daughter who is 24 years old by saying things like "we're just bad people." " It looks fine don't you like it?" My daughter was in tears. The owner was not there. We were told he was having medical surgery. I don't know what they told him, but he proceeded in the end yelling at me on the phone and I am saying yelling, saying get out of my salon we're not gonna give you a refund that's not our policy. Not his problem. Tina and the owner Christopher Jon Scena told us they were doing us a favor that, they were staying late to help my daughter. They said spent to much money on her already. They're the ones that messed it up in the first place. I don't understand the unprofessionalism by any of these people. There were three people there Steph who is a stylist, Tina who is the manager and color specialist, and assistant listed as the owners son. Tina told me she was the owner when I asked who we needed to speak to about this issue. When I asked about Christopher, who was listed on the website as the owner and that she was listed as a manager turned around and said they were partners. At this point I couldn't trust or believe anything she was saying. Yet she called the owner because I wanted my money back. All the people involved with running this salon were very unprofessional, including the owner Christopher over the phone, who asked to speak to me and proceeded to yell at me not letting me speak even when I said wouldn't you like my side of the story he said "NO". He proceeded to yell at me and tell me "to get out of his salon, and just leave,leave his salon that he was not going to give us his money our money back that was not his policy". obviously customer service and making your customers happy is not important to Christopher Jon Scena or his business. You would think someone who advertises that they worked with Hollywood A-listers and the like would be a professional. I have never been treated so disrespectfully by any customer service professional in my life like I was with these people, especially an owner of a business. This salon was ridiculous and not the way that you treat customers. Had I seen the reviews of other people that have had the same type of problem with the salon I would've made sure my daughter didn't go there, but she thought she did her research boy WHAT A MISTAKE!!! This is a review so hopefully other's won't make the same mistake. I've included pictures from our adventure so you can judge yourself. We walked out after I hung up on the owner Christopher Jon Scena while he was still yelling at me. To say that I was upset is an understatement. Never never again. I can't give lower than one star but it should be no stars.

She's very knowledgable having been schooled in beauty in both China and the US. She brings techniques to the table that others don't use, and is very quick. She is the owner of the salon and her prices are very reasonable which is a key factor in why I continue to come here. The salon itself could use some sprucing up, it's generic and has alot of unused space. It'd like to see some decor or something done to elevate it a bit. What falls short for me is that Li is so fast that the experience feels rushed and not relaxed. Also because she moves so fast she sometimes wacks me in the head with the blow dryer and splashes water on my face at the shampoo bowl. Overall the entire process feels a bit rough. A few times I've left without being styled because "she didn't have time", or left not satisfied with the styling as it lacked volumn and product. She does give a solid, layered cut, and has reasonable prices so I'll tolerate the negatives.....for now.
