I had enquired to book for 40 people and placed a booking for a time and date 2 and a half weeks away. I was only told that the cancellation fee would be $10pp if cancelled 7days or less prior to the event. 3 days later (so still more than 2 weeks from the event), I cancelled the booking because a $59.99pp set menu was too high for most of our guests so I cancelled. But according to their policy they still charged me $70 (3%) which I was not informed of until they called to let me know they were charging my account. Genuinely shocked at this policy and the service. Over 2 weeks cancellation and I'm still having to pay for it? Absolutely ridiculous. read more

A date night I planned with my wife after long struggle with being under lock down. Our plan was to have dinner at Crinitis and then head over to a Mozart tribute concert. We had to be at the concert in Rozelle by 9 pm. We had booked a table at Crinitis for 6:30 pm. We put in the order of our favourite pastas and drinks at 6:45 pm we waited till 7:15 pm and the food hadn't arrived. We asked the waiter.l when we could expect the food as we have to be somewhere which meant we have to be out by 8 pm. He went to check with the chef and returned with the advice that it would be here in 10 minutes. Not thinking about it much my wife and I went back to our conversation as we noticed another couple came and sat next to us and started to put their order in. At 7:30 we see the couple that came half an hour after us were being served their food and ours still hadn't arrived. So we called the waitress and asked her how long we would have to wait for our food. She went in and checked and advised another 10 mins. At around 7:45 we saw a family of 6 who had arrived with us were done with their food and were already leaving. We called the waitress again and asked her if she could get our food to us because we have 15 minutes before we had to leave to make the concert. She checked and came back and said 5 minutes this time. I told her I've heard it 3 times and we still haven't seen our food. She went and told the the head waiter or someone and he shrugged it off like there was nothing he could do. Hence we waited for the 5 minutes we were advised and went over to them and advised we were leaving. They said sure sorry for the trouble. They made us wait over one hour with no food. We went to the concert without having any food and hungry. Ruined the night for us. Thanks Crinitis. For making what was supposed to be our special night, memorable. read more

Crinitis can be summed up in one word - overpriced. I used to go to the one in Parramatta years ago when prices were reasonable and the food was great. Now it seems to have grown into a chain of stores all selling the same bland food and all charging the same price irrespective of location. The menu is massive and there is a load of choices but unfortunately the servings are not as generous as they used to be. The food doesn't taste as good as it used to. And the prices are higher than they used to be. I can understand people being sucked into dining here - the place looks great and has a great feel to it but lets face it you're still dining in a shopping centre in Castle Hill. Which leads me to my main gripe. If I were at Criniti's at Woolloomooloo I'd probably say its overpriced average food but the view was worth it. When they bring those same prices to a suburban food court you're left with overpriced average food and no views to make up for it. Save your money and try one of the other great restaurants in the area outside of Castle Towers. read more

When criniti's first opened up, the food was different to what it is now. It had that authentic Italian flavours and it didn't matter what you ordered, it was always good, fresh and full of flavour. Not so sure anymore! It's become a bit mainstream, portions have lessoned and price has really increased! The last time I ate here I got the seafood platter which was ok, I liked that it didn't come out with chips! It just meant the grilled seafood could be enjoyed more. It came out with a small portion of noodles in a large shell which was surprisingly tasty. The platter was all grilled and had a great variety but the oysters weren't fresh. Overall, it's overpriced for average Italian food. read more

Crinit's is a chain of Italian restaurants who are constantly expanding and opening new locations. If you have eaten there, you will know why. The food is of a very high quality. The meters of pizza available are great for groups and they have a very extensive menu that includes Italian classics (pizza, pasta, salad and meat) as well as some less authentically Italian dishes (burgers and ribs). I have never had anything bad from the menu. The prices can be a touch on the more expensive side but in my opinion it is worth the price tag. And the portions are definetly on the larger side. The service is sometimes what let's this place down. Sometimes the meal arrives very quickly and others you might wait an hour. It is a large restaurant and can get very busy. Overall this is one of my favourite restaurants in Sydney and definitely my favourite Italian in Sydney. read more

I had been to the Crinitis in Darling Harbour and thought it was decent but not great. My cousins live up in the hills area and told me they like going here for pizza for we went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. We called and asked for a table and they said they would set it up. We had a kid, toddler and a baby and needed a high chair and pram space. Unfortunately they had no high chairs or any kind of kid seat, but they were friendly and nice. My cousin ordered a pina colada and I got a strawberry mojito which was yummy. We ordered two pizzas, two pastas and a salad. We asked for small bowls for the kids and the waiter said he'd be right back with them and then disappeared. I had to then go searching for someone who gave us the original big plates that were too big for the kids to start with. Still the food was tasty and the service was good. Not the most kid friendly but overall still good. read more

I used to come here a lot with my mum for lunch before a bad experience at the one in Darling Harbour turned us off. It had been about 3 years since then so we decided to give it a go with a friend of ours. I must say that nothing has really changed there. Whilst the menu has changed and it sure is extensive it's overpriced for what you get, our friend and I had an entree sized pasta for about $25 each and hers came cold as did my coffee and her tea at the end of the meal. The service here is wasn't great either, if they didn't all slump around like they had somewhere better to be then maybe the dining experience would have been better. It's easy to see why you would be sucked in to eating here as it looks trendy and sitting outside in The Piazza is quite nice but save your money and eat somewhere else! read more

The food has gone downhill in the past year. It's very expensive for what u get although there is an extensive menu. U have to press a buzzer for service so if u want a traditional dinning experience probably not to place to go. Can get loud inside but outside is nice. I always liked this place, it is not cheap but the food was good. I got really disappointed today, we ordered a meter pizza, three flavours and all I can say is meh. The dough was pretty good, if a bit burnt in some places, but the toppings couldn't be blander or more uninspiring. I could hardly taste the (frozen?) seafood on the marinara, not the Gorgonzola in one of the flavours on the chili on the other. Come to think of it it probably requires some skill to make these flavours so subtle. Alas, it wasn't what I was looking for and, despite their friendly service, I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon. read more

I had the garlic prawns which was $36 - it was definitely overpriced for what I received based on quality and quantity. It was extremely disappointing. My girlfriend had the meatballs which was actually very nice and value for money. Overall, however, I would recommend going to another local Italian restaurant such as Pandora's Rouse Hill. read more

Food was nice I and the entrees were quite large. Service was a bit average.. Even though we didn't have a reservation and we were early, they made it out as if they were packed. We advised them we were only there for less than an hour as we were off to a movie.. So they were a bit more accommodating.. That is.. We didn't have to share on a big communal table.. When upstairs there is no one there to ask for service., then when you finally ask some one running past they give you attitude. Took 20 mins to get drinks, they forgot 2 of them. They gave us the cake and sung the song then totally forgot to give us cutlery or plates, when we asked the waitress she gave us the biggest attitude about it and took 10 minutes to get them. They said some one paid for our bill so we went to walk out and they asked us to come back because they accidentally charged the table next to us our bill. I was once a frequent patron of Castle Hill Criniti's. Not any more. I arrived Sunday afternoon at 5pm and noticed that it was unusually quiet. I approached the concierge optimistic that I wouldn't need to wait long for my meal, only to be sorely disappointed by an unapologetic teen stating that you were "not taking any walk ins due understaffing".
