I suspect the reviewers were actually part of the problem and I for one don't trust their reviews. The Paradise post office is modern, and is physically the nicest post office I have EVER seen! The employees are very competent and helpful, and they're also friendly. I've lived in Paradise for 14 years now and my mail delivery and my mailman (who has served my residence for all those years) are awesome. I've never had a problem with this post office in the entire 14 years, which might help you understand why I don't trust the negative reviews here on Yelp.

We were there for a Bachelorette party and it was definitely a memorable experience! We were a tad concerned upon our arrival because of the lady at the entrance... Susan. Such a rude human being!! We are not mean people nor do I believe we come off that way. But she wasn't very open with directions on what to do/where to go for our reservations and i think she assumed we knew what to do which we didn't. Then she gave us this look and said "don't even think about LOOKING at your campsite until 4..." LOL. We were kind of dumbfounded by her statement.. "Don't even look at it? Really?? Lol ok Susan...I'll close my eyes. We will definitely be back next year because aside from her, everyone else at the marina specifically were outstanding! Went camping over the weekend at Loafer Creek. Stayed in site 94. They've cleared a lot of the…read moreunderbrush around that site so not nearly as much privacy as in previous years. The a holes in spot 132 decided to party until 4 o'clock in the morning and keep everybody up. Thanks for that. Lots of clean bathrooms, and a central shower area in the first loop provides reasonably priced showers with both hot and cold water. Apparently, there are no evening patrols in this particular campground. No enforcement of the reasonable time to be quiet. When we informed the people at the gate on the way out, they just looked at us blankly. I guess we'll have to contact the district office. Cell phone reception was mixed. People with AT&T did not seem to have good cell phone reception in most places. I have T-Mobile and got two bars in most places. My friend who had Verizon had full service and 5G If you get a chance, go to the waffle shop in town. That's literally the name of the restaurant. See Rachel at the counter for excellent service. Also in the area not to be missed is Jake's burgers.

They don't get paid much - so no get rich quick government job. They don't control a whole lot of money or people, so straight up corruption or love of power is limited. But they have ambitions. Make it easier to run a bed and breakfast. Get a permit to a friend. Get a big dollar grant for a job with little need and questionable benefits. Feathers in the cap. Maybe a line on a resume for the next step up. Convince the state we can rejuvenate "downtown" by restricting traffic flow. Never mind that retail everywhere is in free fall. Talk about walk and shop in an end of the line town in the hills. Who knows? Big grant. Slip some business to a buddy. Make choices that affect lives. Right. Blue zones for healthy eating for families. That's a legit use of limited government. Right? Right. Make choices that affect lives. Grand Jury finds the town needs to focus on ensuring folks can escape the fires that hit every few years. Hmm. Maybe restricting that main artery wasn't such a great idea. Cleaning fire breaks doesn't look as good on the resume as blue zones. Certainly isn't going to bring more bed and breakfast fans. Make choices that affect lives. Like plan and practice fire evacuation routes. There's a paid city planner. He makes plans. He doesn't use the software that - for free - would have shown him how tragically incomplete and impossibly over optimistic his plans are. Make choices that affect lives. 20,000+ structures. 50 need alternatives to septic systems. Spend money on a citywide plan for sewer. BIG feather in cap, GREAT line on resume. Affect lives. $50k cost to the first folks hooked up. Plus a 20 year 2% property tax. House two blocks down doesn't have that. And doesn't pay sewer fees. Guess what the effect is on house one. Ah yes. But it's a quarter billion dollar "upgrade". That for ten years benefits 500-700 people. Creates a two tier tax system. No opting out. But back to affecting lives. Failed in planning. Failed to prevent. Failed to protect. Failed. Lost 15,000 homes. Lost thousands of jobs. Lost 88 lives. Lost Paradise. But hey. Let's give em one more chance. Make storm water mitigation and fire evacuation a priority. No? Sewer fit for all. While roads and neighborhoods and shopping centers and lives lie in ruins. Yes. Let's talk sewers...

I am very disappointed in the Town of Paradise. An incident happened here in town of a dog attack…read moreand Animal Control was not called out. Measure N money was voted in by the citizens of Paradise for the purpose of Animal Control. Animal Control did not respond and now these dogs are no where to be found. My dog had to suffer by the hands of an irresponsible owner, not knowing if these dogs are vaccinated or if they have done this in the past. I am so sad to see the Animal Control department go down hill and not being the fault of the department itself but due to the old town manager.....
