This hotel is beautiful, the bed is comfy, and the service is exceptional. Besides the proximity to the theatre district, there's Collins Street for high-end shopping, beautiful parks, and incredible food offerings right on your doorstop. This is by far my favorite spot to stay when visiting Melbourne. Plus, Mr. Walker is here. A hotel with its own canine mascot really cannot be beat, can it? He is literally the most chill dog I have ever met. Love him. Cannot wait to come back next month. Mary Poppins here we come!

We had traveled 12 hours, endured two flights, and delays before arriving and just wanted to eat and go to bed. Four couples were in the place but over 35 minutes for a hamburger and a salad. It may be because we hadn't showered and changed into our night life attire.....I say that because we saw one woman sit down by herself who, also, looked like she was quite tired and no one ever approached or served her and after twenty minutes she finally left. That seems to emanate from this little fellow to the staff. I would wager, that the staff dislikes him immensely. The breakfast staff was friendly and far superior.

We stayed here during our tour in Melbourne and found this hotel very comfortable and convenient…read more The hotel was a pleasant 15-20 minute walk to the CBD. If you are looking for something interesting to eat it is a ten minute walk to Collingwood where you'll find original and tasty places to eat. There was a double bed, two single beds, and a sofa bed. Plenty of room to move around. It was all clean, no bad smells or weird stains. It was hard to be quite during the night due to a squeaky bedroom door, so bring oil just in case. The staff was very friendly and unbelievably helpful. Hazel in reception was only too happy to tell you the best places to eat in and around the area, and as it was the Easter long weekend, even offered to call the restaurants to check that it was open. It kind of sucked that the wifi had to be paid for.

Other than that, it's incredibly convenient, most rooms I think has a kitchenette, staff are friendly and prices competitive. O, and they offer FREE parking while every other bastard charges at least $15 over night. It's close to the tram lines and the great shopping in Smith Street. You can't go wrong. For the down sides, just work around the noise by taking some ear plugs with you and don't even bother trying to sleep in past 8.30am. As for the A/C, just open the rooms up so the main bedroom will also get some of the A/C or perhaps see reception and ask for a fan. No bells and whistles? just ensure you supply it yourself! like wifi broadband etc.

First of all, there are hundreds of food and drink items to pick from. And if you don't see what you want just ask the staff. The staff would make me 4 sunny side up fried eggs in the morning. They have tons of beer choices and even entire bottles of hard alcohol plus wine. I've never seen anything like it. The staff is great. They always greet you, and are willing to help with anything. The rooms were excellent, and most importantly, dark and quiet. The location is right in the middle of the city. Easily one of the best Hyatt's I've ever stayed at. Absolutely use a lounge pass!!!

The hotel lobby was spectacular and gave a real majestic view with two main entrances. The service was great in the lounge. After I mentioned to James, the hyatt staff team leader that my wife and daughter couldnt have eggs, he made sure every night they had a vegan dessert waiting for them. Checked on us every day and just wow, he went above and beyond. Karla the chef also checked on us because the vegan desserts are made different and wanted to make sure the flavor and consistency was spot on. And Reak was great with helping us get around the city and telling where to go. The room was spectacular with floor to ceiling windows. It did get hot if the windows were left open during the day so we had to remember that. But great view of the city and would definitely recommend staying here again. I think we stayed for 5 nights? 3 would've probably been enough to do everything we wanted to.

Overall, this is a very good hotel pick as it seems to have been RECENTLY UPDATED…read more Not over the top luxurious, but it is not the spartan rooms of most Aussie hotels. VERY comfortable, QUIET and RELAXING (and what more can you ask of a vacation stay?) and VERY NICE, ROOMY ROOMS. It is a PERFECT LOCATION as you can EASILY walk a couple of blocks to the AMAZING, Melbourne Museum (a must see w/their new "Native People" exhibit!), their Parliament, the Victorian State Library, several Theaters, many, historical churches and a quick, FREE tram ride to their Queen Vic Market. From the hotel, LOVED being able to walk around and see the incredible number of relatively new architectural-award-winning , tall office/condo buildings interspersed with historical landmarks/stores! While we were here, the only aggravation that we had was that we apparently got the last few bottles of the PLASTIC, SEALED, BOTTLED AT THE SPRING/sourced, sealed water bottles! What this Marriott now uses for the rooms is a VERY SLIM, TALL GLASS bottle (Unfortunately easy to knock over in the middle of the night on your nightstand!) - and it says ON THE BOTTLE - BOTTLED AT THE HOTEL! WHAT?!?!? Complained to the hotel management about this and they mentioned it is on "sustainability" standards of the corporate Marriott parent in the U.S. Not surprised that Marriott corporate (located in the U.S.), went a little crazy w/their "woke" standards. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY a "green" decision of Marriott corporate that thinks this INCONVENIENCE of having a TALL, OPEN, GLASS bottle sitting on the nightstand is a good idea! Trust me, the planet will not notice if you still provided nice, sealed, PLASTIC BOTTLES - of "bottled at the source" Spring water! On the positive side, in true Marriott fashion, the staff nicely accommodated us by obtaining/providing sealed plastic bottles for us in the room, each day. Sincerely appreciated their extra attention to our needs! As to their "Executive Lounge", it is a small, enclave off the bar area and only has limited snacks of a few pastries/fruit in the AM and a couple of warm appetizers, dips, cheese/ meat laid out for the evening. Their Executive Lounge in Melbourne is less than what we experienced at the Sheraton Grand/Hyde Park in Sydney (which is another Marriott property that we frequent as Lifetime Titanium members). In the Exec Lounge here, there are NO CONTAINERS TO GO of beverages - ONLY a "communal pour fountain" and GLASS containers to drink from! Again, Marriott corporate, PLEASE consider that GUESTS DO notice that your corporate group has gone TOO "woke" and have now decided it is better to inconvenience the guests rather than expect that they will recycle a plastic or tin beverage container. (We also have executive status at Hilton and HILTON does not inconvenience their guests this way.) And, note that this Marriott has NO FLAT SHEETS for the bed! It looks like they used their Flat Sheets to make 3-sided duvet covers, but they are WAY too short! You cannot even completely cover yourself with these duvets when you lay flat! I have to UNTUCK the bottom-end of the bed so that my 6 ft husband has enough of the duvet to pull up to his shoulders. PLUS, they have no heat in the rooms! The thermostat says that it is for COOLING only and to "turn off" the unit if you want to be warmer! WHAT!?!?!!! Must be another Marriott corporate "woke" decision. On the positive side, the staff here is EXCEPTIONAL! During our almost 2 week stay, they greeted us by name and were always going out of their way to make our stay, wonderful! In particular, want to give EXTRA KUDOS to the Dining Room Mgr, Pat and her staff! EVERY morning, she and/or her VERY GREAT STAFF, would welcome us to breakfast and start our days out well by providing an EXTENSIVE BREAKFAST BUFFET (or custom-prepared items on request). It was obvious that Pat and her team (especially, Reena), take the comfort and needs of guests, very seriously and we very much noticed their hard work/dedication. Nice to see the very busy Dining Room staff, also taking the time to check on the needs of each table of guests (particularly as there were physically-challenged guests dining on several days). BECAUSE of this entire group of Marriott employees at this hotel (Hotel Mgt, Front Desk, Concierge, Exec Lounge, Phone Operators, Servers, Chefs, etc.), we will book this hotel again in the near future. This is truly a hard to find, well located, updated/modern hotel, enjoyable property combined with professional staff. Worth staying here! Thank you, Marriott!

It's one of our 'footy pubs' that me and my mates frequent before and after games - a 10 min walk to the MCG seemingly scaring off the bogan throngs that must filter in places closer to the ground. Staff is always friendly and welcoming, it's vibrant without being too busy, and the pub grub has never let me down yet. Ideally they would add a few more taps and beer variety, or at least rotate more frequently to mix things up, but it's a small complaint. Yet to partake in a trivia night yet but one started up around us recently and it looked like good fun that we'll likely come back to try.
