I did just that and Jenn spent a good 30 minutes getting my friends account in order and scheduling a Tech to visit him on Saturday.

I called the number on the GCI website (long wait) and spoke to someone who checked my address and told me the modem would work at my place. I immediately go into the store, wait 15 minutes to speak to someone, and get my modem. I paid $74.99 upfront and was assured I could get the internet up and running that same day. I go home, plug it in, nothing happens. I call the GCI customer service number (long wait again) and they assure me GCI will work at my address, I just have to wait for a service technician to come and set it up. No one was available that day. At this point, I'm getting anxious. I use the internet for work and every day without it is a day I miss getting paid. Someone finally comes in the next day at around 10:30 AM and tells me no way GCI would work at my home. Confusing since I'd been assured by three different people that it would work. I immediately go to return the router. Refund has to take 5-7 days to process. Poor service. Company run by idiots.

The customer services from start to finish was great. Saraiya looked over my account and asked about features not common on accounts like my dad's ability to call Germany with world connect. Yes its a $5 feature that customer service has never asked if I still needed. This was just amazing that she was doing anything she could to help and make sure I was being charged the right amount! Thanks for looking out for your customers! I went in to set up a phone for my mother. Its crazy how my parents paid for everything for me as a child now I am paying for them. I was able to port her old number with no problem. Its already done! Amazing! Sariya explained the process very well and was able to give solutions if it had a hiccup. Saraiya also set me up with a new feature to help cover my phones on the account for drops and spills. Thats great because my family live in Alaska and we have had a few spills and drops. Thank you so much for some amazing customer service! Saraiya even walked me to the door and opened it for me! That felt good, now I know why girls like it so much! Saraiya your a rockstar and its a drive for me from town but if I ever have anything I need done I will come back to see you! Your very great at what you do and I hope your boss lets you know that. I felt very well taken care of and it was not fake or forced. You made me feel like a human unlike some other customer service establishments! Been with MTA since the dialup days until recently. Couldn't upgrade to the faster internet plans…read moresince when they installed phone service to our house in 1990, they only used one copper wire and not twisted pair copper connection. MTA tech says you can't get faster internet unless they dig out the road from the "node" just across the street to our home and install the twisted pair copper wire. New copper wire DSL connection installation by MTA never happened. FIBER connection offered in Eaglewood neighborhood? Nope, not for years from now. So much for their celebrated May 2020 connection to the Lower 48 with ALCan ONE fiber project trickling down to their existing customers. Adios MTA, went to GCI and never looked back.
