Do not buy a battery with a four year warranty. They will not honor it and find every excuse why they won't.

We needed specialty batteries for our flashlights and were pleased to find online that BPB not only carried them, but had them in stock as well. Upon arrival, as we wandering an associate approached and asked if he could help and took us straight to the batteries we needed. Verified, unlocked the rack, and cashed us out quickly. They also offered a veterans discount, which is always appreciated! They offered a lot of specialty bulbs, color lightbulbs, strips and more and batteries of all kinds! Add me to the list of 'DESERVES ZERO STARS'. Bought a battery back in late July, told full replacement warranty, brought it in Dec 28 (5 months) because it wouldn't hold a charge. Right away the sales guy (Lucas) was implying it had been misused. Left it for him to check out. Was told they would call me, and after 8 days with no call I returned and was told 'sorry, it won't hold a charge'. Well, no kidding- that was why I brought it back in! So I ask about it being warranted and Lucas tells me 'no, that's no covered'. Guess the warranty is only valid if you don't need it. He offered to sell me another battery, I told him I will NEVER buy another battery there. What a sorry excuse for customer service. From their website " Our policy is to honor warranty claims within the warranty period unless the defect is caused by owner/user abuse or negligence or if the product was not used as intended." NONE of those were the case with my battery. But that's how they weasel out of warranty. By the way- read the 'hidden' reviews here as well- same experience. 0 stars is the appropriate rating for this business, both the Wasilla and Anchorage locations. If you go there to buy an item that's listed as being in stock in their stores, they'll tell you the website is inaccurate and that they do not carry such an item -- and will even go so far as to challenge you/ arguing that you must have made a mistake (looked at some other store's website). I always take a screenshot pic of the item before walking into any store to buy it just in case this BS happens. When the guy saw the pic, he walked down an asile and magically located the product he argued didn't exist in their store. I excused this. However, what is inexcusable is the salesman insisted the item he retrieved was the same item pictured on their website (item I needed). It wasn't. The two items had different amp per hour ratings and other details having been different. He told me I'd "just have to trust him" -- what he said the battery specs were deviated from what the battery itself was labelled as, and only by arguing with him more or less did he acknowledge the battery wasn't the battery pictured on their website (not the battery I selected). This attempt to be sold something different -- intentionally -- undermines 100% of a buyer's trust! This salesman then tells me their Anchorage store carries the selected battery I was wanting and made a call to the store to ask them to hold one of them for us. I was told the Anchorage store had 5 in stock and that one was indeed set aside for us to pick up later that day. So we made the 90 mile round trip drive to south Anchorage to buy the battery. At that store we GET THE SAME BS. The salesman gets a battery and starts to type the order into a register and doesn't even bother to show us the battery so we're abe to verify it's the correct battery per our needs. I walk over to his side of the register where the battery sits on a wheeled cart and examine it. The battery isn't even the same brand nor does it have any of the required Amp-per-Hour data indicated. It's a cheap off-brand battery. A wasted trip; wasted gas; wasted time; and worse of all, a total disregard for my needs as a buyer. Never again will I walk into their stores for anything. read more

Ripoff!!!! That's about all I want to say. Took my dads old battery that was working , but needed charging here n there so they said it needed new fluid but he should just get new one ...he spend $200 for what they said "better quality battery and with warranty" within 9 month my dads NEW battery stopped working - he brought it in cuz "he had warranty" - they told my dad that battery crap brand and it froze so he can't use his warranty... WHAT?? (My dads other car had $118 Walmart battery which didn't freeze after 2 years of cold winters)... Originally guy told my dad that its way better than his original battery and their batteries comes with warranty so he has nothing to worry about.... We recently needed to replace our UPS batteries for several of our office computers. We were looking to buy new ones, and went over to Wal-Mart to see if they had any in stock. They were out, but a nice tip from an employee said to check out Batteries Plus to see about a replacement battery. I arrived at Batteries Plus with the old batteries and they quickly found replacements and recycled my old ones. The place had a couple other customers when I arrived, but they were helped quickly and with a couple employees on duty, it made for a quick in-and-out. read more

Positives - Products are good quality and prices fair. Negatives - Customer service is horrible. Just know exactly what you need, with the part number before going in. Had to make 2, 2 hour drives into town before getting a correct headlight. If they look it up, its a crap shoot on getting it right. But don't expect an apology or anything if its not. What you will get is a speech on how mistakes are ok and its probably as much your fault as theirs. If you complain to Zachary (the manager), he will simply tell you that they appreciate NOT having your business and you should feel blessed that he took a moment to speak to you. Too many other good competitors in town like NAPA, O"Reily's, AutoZone, etc. that actually appreciate your business. Caveat Emptor! read more

ZERO STARS! This place is a ripoff when it comes to warranty. They love to sell you batteries, and tell you about the warranty, but then when you have a defective one, somehow there's always some excuse about why they won't warranty it! I've been burned twice by them, never again! I'll go to NAPA, where they have great customer service and stand behind what they sell. Even Walmart is Far Far better about warranty service. This review started out as a one star review, but because of the way it was handled by the store became a five star review... My husband got his iPhone screen repaired here. After about a week, the screen started to separate from the phone. We went to go buy another phone assuming there was nothing we could do... this store was EXTREMELY proactive and asked if they could remedy the situation. ZERO STARS!!!!! Apparently they sell bad auto batteries all winter long. When they quit holding a charge, the batteries freeze and Batteries Plus refuses to honor the warranty. What a scam! My Walmart batteries are doing good and I'm sure they will honor their warranty. I'd call them Batteries Minus. read more
