There were NO patients getting blood work and one person in front of me but I had still been there for over 20 minutes waiting for WHAT?! God forbid that you do get there early and expect to be attended to regardless of the lack of patients - they're still going to make you wait until "they" are ready to do their job.

Ok sir, first of all, it is not your duty to make me feel small for protecting my baby. It is your job to educate me and explain to me what it is that I'm needing and why. A family member that I care for has been going to LSCC at Taylor for around 2 years. He has always…read moregone in every 6 months to get blood work and a BP check for refills on his thyroid meds, but more importantly his blood pressure meds. Last visit, end of July. Come November, it was time to call in a refill to the pharmacy. One of his BP meds were denied, but all of the rest were filled. He called LSCC at Taylor and was told he'd have to come in for a 3 month check. He couldn't do it. It had not been planned for and his copay was $50 for the office visit. The charge nurse got on the phone. He asked for a few BP pills to get him through until he could get in. No. Not without an appointment. Then she proceeded to lecture him that he had done this to himself. His poor lifestyle had put him in this position and now he'd just have to deal with the consequences. And yes.. I overheard this conversation, so I know what was said. All I can say is.. WHAT THE HECK?? Since when does a nurse have any authority to scold a patient about his lifestyle (that she has no clue of) when he needs BP medicine to avoid having a stroke? Well, he ended up going without that medication for a week until he could get into a doctor. His BP stayed at a steady 165/110. Finally, he was able to get in and be seen (at another doctor). This doctor was furious. He had to be given a pill immediately, in the office, to try to bring the pressure down quickly. Medication needed to be adjusted, a new one added, and we are really lucky that something terrible didn't result, like a stroke. The doctor stated that he'd been fighting with some nurses over the very same thing, and he'd had a few patients who were diabetics that ended up in the hospital because the nurse wouldn't authorize an insulin refill. This was right from the mouth of the doctor! So, when you are considering LSCC in Taylor.. you might want to rethink. I know people have circumstances where they cannot afford to go just anywhere, but when you're paying a $50 copay anyway.. it seems a bit like they are just trying to get some cash out of you. Change the rules without notice.. let people run out of meds, and risk their heath. And a charge nurse who has a God complex. It is one thing to refuse a refill for a narcotic, or something addictive, it's another to change the rules up and not give someone medication that they need to live. You should be ashamed.

Maybe they should lead with that. My reason for calling was verify an appointment made over 3 weeks ago. The intake person said they would be emailing me some forms to complete and appointment verification but that NEVER happened and my appointment was coming up. It shouldn't be this difficult. I think this organization needs to reorganize and do something different. Customer service is not their strong suit.

Hey guys... I…read moreslipped and heard a crack... so decided urgent care was the best option... Made my way to CARE NOW Urgent Care... Guess what? NO doctors here... just a nurse practitioner who thinks she knows the system well enough to do as she pleases.... Leoa talks like she's eating muscle relaxers for breakfast and looks like a retired roughneck who picked up nursing after a failed career of riding shotgun to real do tors.... Anyways... I did what I am supposed to do, called to find an urgent care in network... Boom... this place showed up as an option... kinda far from me but I made the journey because I called first and they said they had X-rays and a tech on duty.. I get here the X-ray tech doesn't do spinal X-rays... and the NP says X-rays are outdated and to get a CAT scan... that's right... so my insurance will get billed for zero treatment... Long story short... this place is a clown show.. These guys are playing doctor and severely limited by their subpar knowledge and motivation and general team dynamic... I guess these guys are good for jaw cramps and cold sores... What could they improve: 1) doctor should have a meeting at beginning of shift, include the front desk and review what care is available... that way when people call they get the answers they need to find a different place... 2) don't talk down to patients because you can't provide basic care... it's condescending and unprofessional... 3) don't tell the patient "don't slip" on the way out the door while your under qualified x-ray tech giggles... 4) empathize and be compassionate... Little does Leoa know some of us have medical training and can have an intelligent conversation when it comes to self care... I got a referral... they will bill my insurance undoubtedly... therefore I paid for my story!! Skip Taylor urgent care and just got to pfluggerville.... Or round rock... She listens to recommendations and she offers insight and alternate options if one option is not working as well as thought. And not just Patricia -- but Cindy at the front desk is amazing, kind and friendly and Kimberly, the nurse, is always so kind. If you need care and do not mind getting to Taylor -- this is the answer you have been looking for when trying to find psychiatrist as well as counseling in the same building.
