Some RNAs and CNAs are better than others but they all seem to care about your well being. The rooms are cleaned once a day and trash is dealt with on an hourly basis or whenever you request it. There are some small logistics issues like Amazon packages and fast food delivers etc for some reason they take/lose Amazon deliveries, you'll get some of them but not others? Amazon shares a picture of the item being delived but it somehow gets "lost" from the reception desk to my room? That really needs to be addressed. MaIl or packages from the outside is crucial but they are treated like "who cares if you recive them" and thats a huge issue. This place is fairly quiet and a good place to come if you been recently afflicted or in need of nursing care or need to recover from a surgery . They will keep you up to date with your meds and try to keep you active with PT. Overall my stay here has been good. Susie and her team and just everyone here has been very kind. (Addendum) *. However, the team here completely changed our perspective. From the start, Earvin went out of his way to put us at ease. He actually came to the hospital to speak with us and personally assured us that our mom would be well taken care of--and he was absolutely right. The leadership and dietary care were outstanding. Christine (DON), Ms. Diane, and Khadija made my mom's stay incredibly pleasurable. Because my mom can be a very "picky" eater, Ms. Eileen (Kitchen Supervisor) went above and beyond to make sure she had exactly what she liked and needed. She is absolutely the right person for the job! The nursing team--including Kimberly, Grace, Aynore, and Gilberto--was amazing, attentive, and deeply kind. If I missed any others, I truly apologize. I tried to write down as many names as possible. Finally, the PT team, Kelsey and Chad, was awesome. They challenged my mom while keeping her comfortable, making her therapy sessions enjoyable. Every morning before work, I would see how caring, empathetic, and encouraging they were as they helped her safely push her limits. It's been over a month since I took a dump on this…read moreestablishment, especially since I had more time to reflect upon what I had experienced with them, and what I said. Ever since my friend and I got a bit involved with looking after my brother since he first got sent here, things have improved dramatically. Although, you still have to admit the environment is a bit depressing and a huge shock to people not familiar to this sort of place. I'm not expecting roses and rainbows, however, and it really isn't fun taking care of patients who are more or less unable to realise what they're doing, with some being total nutters. That's just me putting out a general statement, and it may not apply here. My brother has been wonderfully on the mend after things have gotten to their attention that he was recovering from a dangerous and rare, fast-acting necrotic infection, and having a breakthrough infection with that said and done is the last thing anyone wants. They have been taking great care of him, his needs are often met (with some inconveniences in his book, of course, but it's just the system they have in place). The Charge Nurses are very patient, and have been helpful to my brother during his stay there. It's worth noting it's NOT PERFECT, AT ALL. But all the Charge Nurses and other medical staff are doing anything and everything they can, all at the same time, in order to take care of their patients. This is just the reality of the situation with healthcare in general, especially once the pandemic pretty much pissed all over the place and then left more than just that for everyone to barely clean up. He has since been sent to UCSD Hillcrest to get his skin grafting done, and they're making sure it won't get infected. I just want to say that based on what I've been told and the experiences here whenever I came to see my eldest and ONLY brother, thank you very much for taking care of him so he can get right back up to speed with his life. It means the entire world to me to see that he is able to come back alive and well.

What really stood out to me was how much he genuinely cared. Jared explained how the entire team works together to make sure residents receive the care, support, and attention they need during their recovery. During what can be an overwhelming and emotional time for a family, having someone take the time to listen, answer questions, and guide you through the process made such a difference. I truly appreciate Jared's compassion, knowledge, and willingness to help. He made me feel much more comfortable and confident about the next steps for my loved one. He is a wonderful representative of the facility, and I'm very grateful for the time he took with me.

She had the most disgusting and vile attitudes I've come across and treated me poorly as I tried my best to help these patients in the field I'm in. I couldn't help but wonder how she treats her patients until I saw for myself. When I wasn't able to get the blood from a patient she walked in herself used my equipment and completely messed up the whole venipuncture. This poor lady got poked so many times and didn't give her the chance to consent to it. She also constantly criticized me and blamed me for missing specimen that she lost. Shame on Ana and the other staff with horrible attitudes.

The folks here are seeing her (and me) through the downs (there are very few ups) that are par for the course with this disease. One thing I have learned is that just when you think you have things figured out, they will change. Mom has gone from highly functioning adult, to angry (frustrated, scared) old lady, and now has gone back to a time before I existed, though she usually still knows that I am someone she wants to spend time with. I can't articulate what a huge help Linda and the staff at AVL continue to be as mom's disease progresses. They are pros who have the experience to help us through to the other side. When you think about it, I trust them with her life.
