It seems that Robert the manager runs hot and cold. I rented a material lift and he immediately started an animated lecture about keeping the load real--REAL close to the column and super well centered because otherwise it would damage the aluminum column. This sounded like a setup to charge for damage. Upon returning, he seemed like his was about to do just that until he decided not to after I pointed out that he had not looked for the aluminum shavings when I rented it hours before. The lift, which he swore was a Genie, was a Liftsmart that weighs twice that of the Genie and with less capacity. A lot of heavy iron and no provision for managing the wear on the nested aluminum column rails. The thing is a hunk of junk. Not nearly Genie quality. Then somehow we got off topic when he said that Cresco was owned by Caterpillar. Really? That's weird I said. Oh yeah, he said, Peterson Caterpillar. When I explained the difference between a franchise dealer and the manufacturer, he was uninterested in whatever an uninformed, dim-witted customer had to say. He's been in the rental business for 26 years, and so he knows what a bunch of liars and abusers his customers are, every dang one of 'em including me. I'll shop elsewhere next time. read more

If you're wishing to do any table saw work and rent the dewalt saw table - note - the kick back guard cannot come off as it is missing the wheel - I wasted a whole morning here taking away the saw and bringing it back when I found I could not remove this item - the front person was extremely rude to me but gave me my money back insisting no one else had ever had to remove this item - never again will I rent anything from this Cresco location read more

We recently rented a trencher from the Pleasanton Cresco. They had the type we needed available and we were able to rent it right away. What a relief since we already started the job. We mistakenly rented the biggest one we could from another company that was not adequate for our task. The store was clean, the staff helpful and friendly. All around, it was a step above the competition! We did have a battery failure but thankfully it was after our job was completed. Alejandro came out, fixed the machine and returned it for us. He was very knowledgable and a pleasure to deal with! Your selection, service, advice and positive attitudes are excellent, which is getting tougher to find these days. Definitely worth the cost. Never again will we go anywhere else for equipment rental, thank you Cresco! read more

I am extremely disappointed and angry with Pleasanton Cresco. While preparing to rent a sod cutter, I compared prices with Home Depot and Cresco. Home Depot offered a lower price for an 18-inch sod cutter, but Cresco was closer to home. On Wednesday (4/12), I spoke with the manager at Pleasanton Cresco, Shane, about a competitive price adjustment. He agreed to a 15% discount in the rental of an 18-inch blade cutter. The next day, Thursday (4/13), I went into Cresco to rent the equipment. Shane was not working that day and I told the employee, Rob, about the discount offered against Home Depot's price. Rob was hesitant in believing my account of events so I suggested he call Shane. He decided against it and reluctantly gave me the discount. However, upon returning home with the equipment, I noticed Rob gave me a 12-inch blade. Shane clearly lied to me. He told me Home Depot had 18-inch blades and they had the same, but when I asked for them to give me the larger blade, Anthony, another Cresco employee, said this is the only one they had. I went back later in the afternoon to rent a roller for the sod and Rob made it a point to tell me Home Depot's price is not much lower than theirs, which is false. I returned the equipment the next day,Friday (4/14), within the timeframe. On Sunday (4/16) night, I checked my credit card statement that Cresco had not refunded my deposit the day I returned the equipment. Monday (4/17), I went to the store, I showed Shane my credit card statement. I also showed Rob a print out from Home Depot which showed the price, for his own knowledge, as he did not seem to believe me. He gave me a very bad attitude when I showed it to him. Cresco is not a business that functions with integrity, much less with an attitude to serve their customers with a common hospitality for paying patrons. Shane continuously emphasized that their product was better, well maintained, and their service was better compared to Home Depot. Obviously these claims are all false and misleading. Not only the product he rented me was not what he told me, he also lied to me, proving the disgusting lack of service. read more

Cresco has been donating rentals to our business for nearly a year now. At Omni Fight Club Livermore we bring a 700lb mobile fitness unit to the schools in the area and we need to use equipment that we do not otherwise have access to as a small family business. Without fail, every single time we call on them, they bend over backwards to help us bring FUN to the schools' PTA events. They have also donated equipment to help us do other work at our elementary school in Livermore which saved the PTA $1,000 at least. Cresco is all about providing excellent service, reliable equipment and has a love for the Tri-Valley community. We are very lucky to have company's like them that still care about community!!! read more

We own a small business in downtown Pleasanton. Needless to say we go here a lot, Last week was exceptionally hot. Amazing Experience! The water line on my fridge had busted and flooded part of my house. Naturally I was freaking out so a friend of mine said to go to Cresco. I told them my situation and they pointed me to what I needed. They took the time to explain how everything worked so I didn't have to fumble with figuring it out at home. Rob was the guy that helped me originally and I got to talk to the manager Shane when I returned the equipment. They are all really nice down to earth guys(and gals). Side note, I never realized all the equipment that you can actually rent from a place like this.
