Lorie was a very professional, knowledgeable guide. My two daughters ages 6 & 8 and I really enjoyed our beach ride. The horses are trailered in and you meet at the trail head. Fabulous scenery and she shared some great information about the area. I'd suggest bug spray as the one wooded area is thick with mosquitoes. Lorie offered at the beginning and we should have taken her up on it. Overall this experience is totally worth it!!

Hubster and I booked the 3.5 hour ride in the Redwoods. Booked the trip about a month before we arrived. We ended up getting a private ride due to the time of year. What drew us to this company was that they do not discriminate regarding your weight. I'm a big girl. Most places will not let you ride if you weigh over 185 pounds. All they need to know is your height, weight, and experience riding in order to pair you up with the correct horse. Lorie was an absolutely wonderful trail guide! We are inexperienced riders as we have not ridden in about 40 years. Lorie brought really wonderful horses for us to ride. I got a lovely draft horse named Ginger, while Hubster got a beautiful mount named River. Lorie gives you information about what you are riding through and answers all of your questions. If you want to ride horses in the forest, on the beach, or simply have a wonderfully peaceful adventure, Crescent Trail Rides is the place for you! We will definitely book a ride with them again.

I had a great experience with Lori. Lori's horses are amazing. Then there is a young man, Lestat, the grandson of Mary Lynn ( sorry if I did not get your name correct, message me and I will fix it.) He is so smart and helpful, so was his grandmother. Great team. Lori is pleasant to work with, friendly, and professional. My horse, beautiful Britney. Britney is such an awesome animal. It was as though we bonded, she knew where I would get concerned and be extremely cautious for me. Lestat even mentioned to his grandmother, " Britney is being very cautious when going down the hill." I truly felt safe with Britney and she had a way to let me know she knows. I would love to return for a beach excursion with Britney. Ginger was another horse, grand in size and gorgeous. Reminds me of a Clydesdale. Ginger does not like any horses riding close to her back , she may kick I'm told, but it did not happen to Britney while we were behind her. After a while though Britney had enough of following Ginger and passed her and another horse and passed them up( cut the line lol ). If you are a first time, you may want to ride the a short time rather than 2.5 hours. I recommend this business. Thank you Lori and team!

What an amazing tour. Lorie was extremely knowledgeable on everything we encountered on the trail. The horses were very gentle, so even an inexperienced rider like myself could enjoy the ride. The fiancé and I booked a tour during the off season, so we ended up having a private tour and enjoyed every minute of it.

Wonderful Ladies!! Truly patient and so kind! The 3 hour trip was beyond my expectations I knew it was going to be beautiful but it was phenomenal! The beauty of the trees and wildlife! Went with my parents and my husband and it was truly a magical ‍experience so many trees and flowers!! We saw two eagles and butterflies and road on the beach... I would on add one more thing! Each person bring your own bottle of water! The Ocean will make you thirsty

    Perfect beautiful beach day

We booked a 2-hour beach ride in the morning. The weather was perfection, the horses were delightful, and Lori was a wonderful guide. We had an amazing time and WILL be back!!

The horses, the weather, Ms. Lorie were EPIC! If your looking for a romantic, adventurous, Skyrim like experience on horses through some old growth/ancient redwood trees like my husband and I, look no farther! Lori and her beautiful horsie babies were a perfect match for a 2 1/2 hour ride through morning mist and mystery of the red woods. I also should mention romantic as my husband and I were the only ones on the tour so it was very special during off season in the end of October! Look through our pics for what it was really like for us on our honey moon. She has on par pricing, experience, knowledge, and is well worth the experience! Love love! Thank you more again from the Sanchez's

It was an amazing experience. We did the beach ride and it was beautiful. We met Lorie at her house then drove to the Toluwa Stata Dunes park and rode the horses. Each horse had a different personality, it was as if she matched them perfectly to us 4.

We contacted Lorie less than a week before our trip to Crescent City, and she was very accommodating in scheduling our party of six. After meeting Lorie at her stables, we followed her a short distance to the Tolowa Dunes State Park. Lorie and her assistant did all the work- from sitting us on the best horse for our level to guiding us on a relaxed but varied trail through trees, dunes, and beaches. Our entire party enjoyed the day and now have fabulous memories to carry with us.

100% TRUE TO THEIR WORD In an era where reliance on the…read moreinternet to research a regularity nowadays, I know how some can be skeptical of what they see vs what is actually delivered. In this case, EVERYTHING promoted and promised on the website is what you get! Doug, Heidi, their family and entire staff do an amazing job to make you feel welcome and part of the Marble Mountain Ranch family. From the moment we arrived at the Ranch, we were met by Doug, who hopped on his ATV and led us to our cabin, gave us a tour and informed us about dinner that first night. I'll break the rest of this review up into parts to help you get an idea of how much fun MMR is as well as how everything they promise is delivered upon...all while trying not to spoil the surprise of how amazing being there is. BOOKING: It is a working ranch and know that it is normal to get their answering machine when you call. Leave a message if you don't get Doug or Heidi on the phone with your number and know they'll definitely call you back. Heidi is amazing and will answer any and all questions you have. Do make sure you have a "Plan B & C" as dates/weeks fill up rather quickly. Be sure to have your whole party size ready as well as Heidi does a great job making sure your whole party has adequate and appropriately comfortable accommodations for your party. ACCOMMODATIONS/LODGING: The cabins are beautiful and plenty spacious for all your party's needs. Every cabin is equipped with a window A/C unit that keeps everything plenty cool on hot days and a floor heater for those trips where the weather turns cooler. They are stocked it's pots, pans, dish and silverware, a full refrigerator/freezer and microwave. Bedrooms are perfect size for every guest as well. FOOD: Fresh cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinners are prepared by Heidi and her staff and provide you delicious meals that sufficiently fill you for the day ahead or to fill a hungry belly after a full day of activities. There's a variety of options for everyone - and at dinner time, there are wine and beer options as well. ACTIVITIES: You WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Everyone, at every skill level will have an opportunity to experience everything. From your time in the arena learning how to guide, ride and get comfortable on a horse, to being on the trails taking in the forest and amazing views, to your time on the River going through the rapids, you are never disappointed. Doug and Heidi employ some of the most knowledgeable, kind, and engaging staff our group has ever met at a vacation getaway. Heidi makes sure you provide them, when booking, your skill levels to ensure everyone has a safe and amazing time. CONCLUSION: In the technological age where we're perennially connected to all things electronics, this was an amazing opportunity to unplug, get away from the hustle and bustle of busy life and enjoy nature in all its glory. We had two teenage girls in our party and they didn't miss being unable to scroll social media, or the internet all day long. By the end of each day you were physically spent and happy to have downtime with family and other ranch guests. Each night there were activities and opportunities to engage with and get to know Doug & Heidi, their family and staff. Our family came in with no expectations other than the excitement of a new and different opportunity at a getaway vacation. We were blown away at how amazing the experience was and we're already planning a return visit in the coming years. From our family to Doug, Heidi, their family and staff we say THANK YOU for an AMAZING experience that we will not soon forget! I hope this review helps continue to bring you great business and prosperity in the future...and we look forward to seeing you all again soon!

We were fully occupied from morning until night, coasting from one unforgettable and enriching experience to the next. The ranch itself is stunning, and set in a spectacular landscape. Each activity was of the highest quality and it felt enormously luxurious to be in such capable hands throughout. It was a stretch for us financially but absolutely some of the best money we have ever spent

It is one of the only authentic guest ranches on the West Coast (I have worked at others since that claimed 5 stars and never once had as much fun as I did at CCR). The trails and mountains are beautiful, the horses well behaved and healthy, the food is AMAZING, and the cabins are adorable! I was even able to be there recently for the Thanksgiving holiday to reunite with or meet just about every member of the Hartman family! It was pretty incredible to get to enjoy the ranch and the gorgeous Trinity Alps in the winter for the first time too. I cannot even believe some of these scathing reviews I just read! I can understand frustration if you feel like your expectations weren't met in a situation where you paid money, but this particular experience was such an isolated one that it simply doesn't speak for the ranch/accommodations/etc. quality as a whole. Coffee Creek Ranch is a family-owned, family-friendly mountain resort where people go to get away from the chaos of their daily lives and spend a few days (at least) and try out some of the many unique activities offered. It's not a place to travel all the way too if you are going to rush or try to fit too much into only a few hours. In the entire time I worked there I don't remember seeing one guests leave dissatisfied - except perhaps if they didn't catch a fish, or over-slept for the Breakfast Ride, or ran out of time to do karaoke on their last night or something like that!
