They give you all of your options and work with you with how much you can get done and help you prioritize what you need right away and what can wait. During my last visit the Hygienist did not properly position the suctions while she was cleaning my teeth and felt like I was being waterboarded. The lady that checks patients out and collects payment is one of the rudest people I have every met. She has no business working with the public. She stated that I owed money and when I inquired about it, she just told me I owed it and if I did not pay it she would send it to collections. After switching insurance to get options to go to non-chain places, I was able to get an appointment with Akel. The appointment for a new patient was within a reasonable time. During my first visit, I was able to get both my check up and deep cleaning (SRP) which was not something I had been able to do at many other places. This was an unexpected surprise. The service was very good and the staff was amazing. To top it off, the cost was well below any chain dentist I have previously been to.

When I arrived at Affordable Dentures, they had a price list of all their services and how much it cost. It blew me away with their prices, at least $1,000+/- less than the lowest quote I got. When you walk into a business and they have a price list you know what it will cost and you can proceed or wait till you have enough funds. I was blessed to have the funds to get it done, and with it being $1,000 lower than the closest dentist, which included the new wearer package that I got a second set of dentures. I paid $317 out of pocket for a procedure that lasted under 30 minutes and didn't feel thorough--I could still feel tartar afterward. I've had regular cleanings elsewhere that were much better. Also, the hygienist kept saying that she has another patient and that she needs to be rushed and can't take her time. It felt like they were more focused on upselling than providing quality care. When I raised my concerns, the front desk told me they didn't want to see me as a patient anymore, instead of addressing the issue. I would be cautious about agreeing to additional procedures or charges here.
