Had such a delicious Friday lunch at Pastis in Wynwood with a work colleague. The entire experience…read morewas fantastic from start to finish. We started with a few appetizers including the tuna carpaccio, which was absolutely outstanding and literally melted in your mouth, steak tartare, and the true star of the show the crispy artichoke. So simple yet unbelievably good. For our entrée, we shared the steak sandwich, which was incredible... and of course I completely forgot to take a picture because we dove right in. The atmosphere, service, and food made for the perfect Friday afternoon lunch. Already looking forward to going back and finally trying their French onion soup.

But he was as friendly and attentive as our last visit. I enjoyed this visit so much on the patio. It had the feel of an outdoor cafe in France (not that I've ever been there, but it was what I imagine). I had a cappuccino, and I have to say this was the real deal. It had the perfect strength and flavor. The bread we started off with was soft and was so delicious with a swipe of the butter. I ordered the French Onion soup hor d'oeuvres and my husband, who isn't a huge French onion soup fan, also loved it. I ordered pancakes which is a rarity for me, as I usually prefer savory. But these were so fluffy and perfect. I ate barely 1 1/2 bc I was so full by then (it came with 3). My daughter's French toast was delicious and really soft. My husband ordered an omelet, and I forgot to ask him how it was, but he devoured it. I also had a mimosa after my coffee. The mimosa was perfect as well. We had such a nice time here and cemented my love for Pastis. I will say that I would prob only go for lunch if I was looking for lighter fare (maybe coffee and croissant etc) or was nearby abs liked the ambiance. We live quite a ways south so I would prob save my next trip to Pastis for dinner because I keep thinking about our last visit. Also, someone near us had ordered a dish with garlic that smelled incredible.

The portion sizes are generous as they let you know its family size. They have fresh tomatoes and a lemon with a knife at every table. Cut some tomatoes add some salt pepper a little olive oil w some balsamic and you have yourself a fantastic delight for the table. The escargot was by far sone of the best with the Parmesan they used. Fresh WARM bread is served through out your meal. The main courses were generously sized. The Star of the meal is by far the vanilla cheesecake. It's very light contrary to what you'd expect when you think cheesecake. It's so smooth on the palate w an amazing burst of vanilla. It's a MUST have when you eat here!

I had a frustrating experience at LPM Restaurant & Bar. While seated at the bar, the bartender…read morebegan sending over drinks and food items without us ordering them, saying things like "we want you to try this" and continuing to bring additional items throughout the evening. There was no clear communication at any point that these items would be charged. Based on how it was presented, it felt like these were gestures from the bar. However, when the bill was presented, those items were included, which created a very uncomfortable and confusing situation. The issue here is not about the amount, but about the lack of transparency. If items are being sent to a table, it should be made explicitly clear whether they are complimentary or will be included on the bill. Without that clarity, it feels misleading. At a restaurant of this caliber, clear communication should be a given, and unfortunately that was not the case here.

This Miami location is a 2-star restaurant which I personally think is overrated compared to the Tokyo location. It's not very hard to get a spot if you reserve ahead of time. It's located in design district of Miami. There's another Michelin 1-star restaurant located on first floor and Joel Robuchon is located on the second floor of the same building. We reserved bar sitting and was seated near the end corner of the bar. They have both set menu ($195 for 4 courses) or a la carte. We ordered a few dishes from the a la carte menu to share. We were firstly served with bread and a complimentary fois gras appetizer. Their bread is the best especially the smaller ones! We got refill for the small savory pastry. The free fois gras appetizer was a bit too greasy for me, nothing special. For sharing plates, we ordered fois gras with fig, veal sweetbread and hamachi. The fois gras dish was well-flavoured. The other dishes were ordinary. I was expecting the food to impress my taste buds more from a Michelin 2-star restaurant. For mains, we ordered the bison fillet Wellington, halibut and sole. Both fish dishes were amazing but I didn't like the flavour of the bison dish. This restaurant is clearly much better with seafood dishes than meat dishes. They provide us some dessert for both dine-in and takeout at the end, and they were all tasty. Overall, the service was attentive and the vibe was quiet here. However, for $200-$300 USD per person, the food is not up to standard comparing to other Michelin 2-star restaurant when I expect to be wowed by the cooking. It's not very good value for money.

Even though we were shorted on the oysters, we surprisingly had our fill (some restaurants give smaller portions during Miami Spice to compensate for the price, but this Spice felt pretty filling!) We would totally come back to try something off the regular menu!

Once we arrived we got our menus and realized 3 of us had different menus than the 4th person. Sadly, the menu posted online was not the actual spice menu available and it was so much worse as far as options. We chose to get us and leave- it's so easy to update a website there is just no excuse at all for having outdated information online. The vibe in there is great but we popped over to 60 vines and had a spectacular brunch and I'm glad we didn't settle for the subpar options Brasserie had substituted.
