The white buttercream frosting is tasteless. I also ordered the almond raspberry cupcake, vanilla/vanilla with bavarian cream filling, and same filling for a chocolate/chocolate cupcake. I was given the wrong cupcake for the chocolate one because it was not filled. Frosting was better than the vanilla but I still not did not finish it. The almond cake with raspberry filling was good without the frosting. I threw everything else away. I'm thrilled (and relieved) to say that Midnite Patisserie ticks off all the boxes I look for: lots of flaky layers, buttery bites, sweet *and* savory options, and creative, gorgeous flavors. Midnite's menu rotates weekly, and in order to get your hands on them, you have to plan ahead via preordering. Check the instagram page or website on Wednesdays, take your pick (there is an option to order a sampler box at a discounted rate), and pick them up from the "secret kitchen" on Saturdays from 10 AM-1 PM. I promise you: it's 1000% worth it.

Nothing great or spectacular about the place, but their donuts are so good. The donuts are slightly different from what my husband and I are accustomed to. The place is a bit cramped, only has a few small tables, and the line of customers could easily be out the door at times. The counter was staffed by three teenagers or young adults. The donut selection was small but enough to please the young and old. We're new in the area so we thought we'd give it a try and ordered 4 donuts for $8 -- glazed, chocolate cinnamon, chocolate creme, and sugar twist. They were all delicious! They do not offer a half dozen special but mentioned that they do have a dozen special. I forgot to ask what that special was. Next time.

We were disappointed that the sourdough loaf we bought were flavored- pesto parm and a roasted garlic, both were very bland. The pesto parm bread had no green color to it, how is that possible? We were disappointed with these as well, very little pepperoni flavor. At least we could see evidence of pepperoni. We bought rosemary sourdough, but never tried it. When my husband and I tried to cut the cake together for photos, we couldn't cut through it. We thought we must have hit a post, but it was the fondant. The fondant was so hard that we had to use a serrated knife to actually puncture through it. Both the flowers and decorative trim on the layers was even harder, like rock candy. The white cake tiers were very dry. Unfortunately, there was a lot of left over cake on the plates. Very disappointing. Again, the cake was beautiful, but not eatable. In addition, we never gave permission for our wedding photo to be posted on Facebook.
