I really like this "planned" town square, nature path, park... whatever you decide to call it!! I took my sister here recently before her late afternoon flight back home. What a GREAT hidden gem, so close to the airport and the burbs of Columbus, but yet so far!! I think more downtowns should have a woodsy area to wander and "escape" a bit from the suburban "grind." Plenty of shops, restaurants, and even a brewery to check out, also apparently lots of fun festivals, but make sure you also wander the winding, wooded walkways, a WONDERFUL way to "get away from it all, right in your own backyard!! read more

Creekside is a beautiful area of Gahanna! Today it was so nice outside, I decided to go for a walk along the water area after work. There's a nice waterfall, local art installments, paddle boating in the warmer months and plenty of connecting paths to keep you strolling! Lots of people were out walking their dogs and enjoying the weather. The actual Creekside area is also really nice with many businesses and restaurants located on the main street. They also have many festivals and events throughout the year, the biggest probably being the Jazz and Blues fest. Next time you're in the area, I suggest taking the time to walk back behind the many store fronts and down the steps to the beautiful creekside walk ways! read more

I frequent Creekside with my family. During the warmer months, we walk here. During the colder months like now, we drive and park in the free parking lot. The other great thing about this public space is that it's near many local small businesses, from boutique clothing shops to eateries. The park is always kept clean and there are never a lot of people present. There are quite a few walkways, trails and bodies of water. The ponds that pond that they have there is filled with lots of ducks during the warmer months. You are even allowed to feed them as long as you do so and follow the rules (no bread). One of the wooden walkways takes you to a marsh area filled with snapping turtles. Starting in December, they put out the lights. The colors are quite a spectacle. We took our two year old there, and it was quite stimulating for him. He was in complete awe and thoroughly engaged. My favorite thing there during this time is the display near the fountain area. There are these balls, strings, and snowflakes of lights that blink to the sound of the Christmas music they have present. The best part of all of this, is that you do not have to pay for this wonderful display. read more

I love Creekside from the Jazz and Blues Festival to the 5K's and many different groups of walks it's sucha great place to hold events. It because it's such a spacious area. I just took Bella here today and she had a blast. She met so many pups on this walk we did for mental health awareness today. It was such a great event and listening to teens sing from Pickerington North High School was nice. Angela An from 10 TV was the emcee and such a nice anchor. Bella got a few famous moments on TV today as I paused for photos with her in front of the camera for the news. If I ever needed a good venue to host an event I would definitely come to Creekside as it has the local bars and shops that make it such a great part of the park and Columbus in general. I will definitely be back for that paws in the plaza event soon and of course the Creekside Jazz and Blues festival. Such a great time here! read more

First of all, I love their food! But the blond lady who works there is rude as Hell! I walked in at 12:30 and waited for a clean table...And waited...And waited...Without being greeted... Finally my server brought me a menu...Very nice... Thirty-five minutes later my food arrived...With no cheese and the wrong fries... I told the blond lady how long I waited...She said: "You should have known there would be a wait when you saw how busy we were when you walked in!" Really? Then she warned me there be an upcharge for cheese that I didn't get in the first place... Then my original server came back and begged me to come back...I promised her I would only if she were my server instead of the other one. I waited for my check and the blond lady tried to butt in again and I ignored her... Had it not been for that one polite server I would have surely walked out...Sad how one person ruins an experience... read more

This is a really nice park that is adjacent to Creekside Plaza, with its beautiful fountains, shops, and restaurants. The park has connections to both the Big Walnut Greenway Trail and the Gahanna Trail, as well as containing its own loop trail. Because it is a bit of an island, it has some neat bridges from which to look at the creek, and there is also a waterfall. Signage indicates that wading, but not swimming, is permitted in the creek. There is a lot of interesting public art throughout the park - a number of fascinating sculptures and some neat murals on the Creekside Bridge. There is a large group of ducks that seem to call the area home, as well. On the other side of the island is a boardwalk, which takes you through the Big Walnut Creek Bog. This is a terrifically interesting wetland type section with snapping turtles and frogs. There's a nice sign available telling you about the turtles. It was so neat to see three snapping turtles nearby in the bog! It is a fascinating little area, and I'm so glad it was both preserved and opened up to visitors. read more

My husband and I absolutely love coming to Creekside. We spent many days and evenings here when we were dating, got engaged here, and are now excited to bring our daughter here. There are many festivals and events that go on here during the spring and summer, so when you come on a Saturday during that time, expect it to be a little more crowded than usual. It's also a very popular spot for prom and wedding photos, so you have to watch out for that on the weekends as well. On Saturdays there is often live music, and there is seasonal decor (for Christmas and Halloween) which is really fun to bring the kids to see. On top of that, up on Mill street there are plenty of bars and restaurants and coffee shops to get something to eat or drink. And in addition to the actual creek, there's a really nice fountain that lights up. There are a few paths to walk around, none of which are very long, but that's not really why we come here. There are nice big rocks to sit on to rest, to people watch, or to look at the water. Some people try fishing in the creek, sometimes people will wade, and there are also paddle boats to rent. We prefer to just walk around and look at the ducks and chat. (Although we are heartbroken our beloved swan Sammy is not here anymore.) All in all, this is a great family place, especially during the warmer months. The atmosphere is fun, and the park is well maintained and clean. Creekside holds many specials memories for us, and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come. read more

Creekside is really an idyllic retreat. The paths are great for exercise, romantic strolls or dog walking. They are well maintained. In the summer, you can rent a little paddle boat to explore with. The fountains are beautiful and overall the space is lovely. Great happy hours at Signatures across the street, Old Bag of Nails and the Pour House. If you need bug spray, wander over to Honey Grove Botanicals, they have an AWESOME all natural spray I swear by. It smells like Lipton's Brisk (if you remember that) lemon iced tea that came in cans. :) You can even spray it on the dogs to keep them comfy too. read more

Came to town for Paws in the Plaza, and wandered around a bit. They have improved Creekside over the years, and it is very impressive: paths, fountains, etc. Sweetie wanted to ride the paddleboats, something neither of us had done since we were kids. We glided past ducks, laughed, and enjoyed the whole time. You could ride bikes here with kids, maybe, but it is definitely not a place for serious bike rides- too small and windy. Great for walking or jogging, though. Parking is available at the garage, or on the street. read more

I came here with a friend after reading about the paddle boats here. We came on Monday, not realizing that most of the businesses (including the paddle boat rental) is closed on Mondays. We took a walk around the river walk. While the scenery is indeed beautiful, it's actually quite a small area, and can be completely explored within 15 minutes. One of the highlights is a wading pool/mini waterfall, which was filled with children. We decided to return on Tuesday, and despite (or perhaps because of) the 90F heat, the paddle boat rental place had no business, which was reflected in the bored demeanor of both employees there. We took our boat (from their fleet of five) down the river. The gentleman who rented us the boat told us that we could only go as far as the bridge before turning around. That bridge turned out to be about a quarter mile down the river, meaning we reached the end in less than ten minutes while paddling at a leisurely, relaxed speed. So while driving all the way out to Gahanna (twice) for a 15 minute paddle boat excursion was somewhat of a disappointment, I would still recommend it to locals to check out the Creekside area at least once. And it only cost $5. Also, while 2-hour street parking is readily available, there is a free garage provided, which is great, especially on a hot day. read more

The new Creekside development in Gahanna works pretty flawlessly in its setting -- one side looks like uber-trendy fake downtown retail and office space (I guess I mean that in a good way) while the other side looks like a metro park. The retail/office side of things shows promise. It's pretty heavy on food as of yet: Buck Mulligan's Irish Pub, Old Bag of Nails, Mezzo Italian Kitchen, Seekers Coffee House, Coldstone and Bread Basket Bakery. The shops are nearly outnumbered. Planners will have to do better before the place starts drawing the numbers that they want. The park side of things does even better. Walkways and fountains blend well next to the eponymous creek that sits next to the development. Visitors can ride paddle boats, do some fishing or just soak in the metro park experience. It's a real coup that Gahanna snagged this development. It's also a real coup that Columbus has this asset so close! read more

I had my doubts about Creekside when it first went in but it has proved to be an entertaining place to spend an afternoon or evening with friends or out with my son. It's stroller friendly, with plenty for him to look at and touch. If you get the chance to sample anything from the Bread Basket Bakery you'll be sold on whatever you've tasted, and the Coldstone Ice Cream is a nice treat on a hot day. Parking is quite reasonable, and if you don't want to pay it isn't usually too hard to find something up the street. read more

My BF took me here on a short walk with the doggy in the morning, and his mom met us up to show the recent developments taking place in Gahanna. A walk down this very nice pathway bordering the creek turned into a smaller metropolitan area incorporating the creek with a trendy downtown feel, complete with restaurants, stores, and even paddle boats! It reminded me of Santana Row in San Jose, where a European style apartment complex is on the upper level while commercial stores reside in the lower street level. It also reminded me of the Riverwalk in San Antonio, which uses the river as a main focal point to feature its mall and create ambiance. Creekside incorporates all these elements on a smaller scope, and the result is very nice. But I think they need a few other big-name businesses as anchors to attract more people. When I went, most people were converging near the creek; there were very few people around the commercial area, which is where the money comes from. read more

After visiting a few times, I feel compelled to write a review. First let me start off with the good. It's beautiful. The city of Gahanna has obviously spent a lot of money to make the place inviting. Unfortunately, unless a lot changes, it was probably a waste. There is nothing there to attract people. NOTHING. There are a couple of okay restaurants, more than a few really bad ones, and a handful of other businesses that aren't going to keep people coming back. Add to that the turnover of businesses. Everytime I have been back, something has closed. Seekers, Koulian Jewelers, The Shops of Portobello Row, Verizon Wireless, and now T Bears Florist. None of these were great business's anyway, but it there aren't that many business down there that this many should have closed in a year. After my last visit, on a sunny Saturday afternoon, I can see why. There were no people. It was a bit depressing. The Bread Basket Family Bakery was empty along with Cassabella next door. These might be great places, but when noone else goes, it makes me think it's not good. Also parking. The only place to park for a long period of time is the parking garage and you have to pay. That makes me want to come back. Overall, if you want your pick of sub par food (An Old Bag of Nails, Buck Mulligans for pub fare, and Mezzo and The Wine Guy for Italian. Hope you're not looking for variety) or just a empty outdoor shopping area all to yourself then by all means visit Creekside right away. Or you could go feed the ducks. That's probably the only way you won't be disappointed. read more

Creekside has some really good restaurants that I've never been to. I do really enjoy walking around the park there. It was really pretty around Christmas with all the lights up and everything. Now that I'm thinking about it, i have been to J Gumbo's which was horrible. $10 for a bowl of rice with some sauce on top. Mine had very little chicken to it. I've been to Old Bag of nails, but not this location. It's a really nice pub, very old soul. Anyway, creekside is lovely. I really need to try the restaurants over here. I nice, quaint area to visit on a nice evening. You can take a stroll beside the creek and enjoy dinner, beer, and maybe some ice cream within the same area. Although it's nice a huge area, you can do a little exploring along the creek, like feeding the ducks (DON'T FEED DUCKS BREAD BUT WITH APPROPRIATE FOOD). Creekside does hold festivals for adults and for kids. Be prepared that it can at times get a little crowded at these events but just with the flow and be friendly. Creekside does have a fountain that's pretty cool and in the Winter, they light it up. They also have a Christmas Lighting Ceremony that's pretty neat. Creekside also has paddle boats for a small fee. Definitely a recommend to everyone. Try it out on a first date. read more

Creekside in Gahanna is a great place for relaxing, walking, meeting up with friends, drinking and dining. It is a very clean open space with fountains, pools, waterfalls, shaded paths, paddle boats, and free concerts in the summertime. It is safe, family and dog friendly. AND, there is free parking in the attached underground garage, and lots of tables ,chairs, and low walls available free to all with no purchase necessary from surrounding restaurants and bars. The Gahanna Blues & Jazz Festival in this area is awesome ! I would give Creekside 5 stars if all the storefronts were full. Seriously, it kinda reminds me of Vail or Aspen in the summer time. read more

Creekside has really transformed the downtown area of Gahanna. They have so many events that are extremely family friendly from concerts to paws in the plaza and the Halloween Creepside events. There are also great restaurants and beautiful art. I love the walking paths and waterfalls. read more

this is BEAUTIFUL place for senior pictures, engagement pictures, or just pictures in general. There is a very cute boardwalk path that goes behind this for more of a nature scene... but the fountain area is very clean.... and there is a cold stone next door. does it get much better?? read more

Creekside is a pleasant place.There are ducks everywhere, and at the moment, some ducklings! It's usually busy in the afternoon/early evening now because of Pokemon Go. For those that play, there are a handful of stops, those by the fountain usually have lures, and a couple gyms. There is also ample parking in the parking garage. There are various stores and restaurants around the park if you need to get out of the heat or get a drink. There are pretty flowers and plants throughout. The bathrooms are usually clean. One thing, don't lean on the railing on the one bridge headed to the paths across the creek, as it's a bit wobbly. I haven't noticed any issue on the other bridges. Overall it's a nice park. read more
