They did zero work, literally zero, as soon as we signed up they literally told us to go find comparable property sales ourselves and sent a bill at the same time because they wouldn't do any work to try and protest for us thus they knew we would not find any savings. The entire reason we used them was to find the comparable and do the protest, which they didn't do either of. They should at least have a policy that if they have zero data they can use to make a case, you should not pay anything to them at all since they won't do anything. I would not use them again, I have contacted state representatives to suggest regulating this industry due to unethical companies like this one.

Once I got a bill, I got emails at 2am asking for payment. This was also unnecessary. The worst part was advising me on what to do in the case of a marriage separation. Not only did I end up owing so much I had to deplete my emergency fund, but I had to pay 3k to learn that. I was asked once about my filing status and dependencies without being told how devastating it could be if that changed. In addition, they filed an extension, and I now owe interest and penalties. Yes, life changes mean financial hardship. But I was not properly advised and this ended up being the worst experience I've ever had with a CPA.

He asked for our specific needs and showed us rental homes that met our criteria. We had only one weekend to finalize our decision, and he worked with us to quickly get it done under our timeline. Then, he stayed in touch with us and showed us several homes for purchase or build as we moved out of renting and into ownership. After finding the area we wanted to live in (North Austin Area) he showed us some potential new home builds that met all our needs and wants. I did not think I was going to need Jack much after that because we decided on a new home build but I was wrong. Jack ran interference on any issues we had with the salesperson and helped review some of the builder's paperwork to make sure we understood the entire process. We ended up living in the home of our dreams. I do not think we would have found this home without Jack's realtor expertise in the market, Austin area, and Texas regulations. Since then, we referred him to our parents to use and he worked hard to make sure their dream list for the home was met. They moved into their new home last December.
