Wowie! Let me start off by saying Saturday afternoons are busy!! We (My friend and I) walked in and there was a line so we were put on the waitlist and they called when there was a table open for us. We had to wait for about an hour, no worries we know Saturdays are busy. Everything else went very smoothly service was quick even with the amount of people there and we never felt rushed. It was very fun to paint and all the tools are labels and easy to read. BUT the one thing they didn't have was pencils. Thats easy to get over though with how much fun it is to paint pottery! This place was a blast! Plenty of space upstairs and downstairs for a small group of 2 or a large group of 8 people to sit comfortably. You pick from a large selection of pottery to paint and prices are on the underside. An entire wall of paint with as many colors as you want. You come back in a week to pick up your finished piece. Staff is so friendly and helpful for first timers. They also have a large selection of tea and food to have while you paint. I absolutely loved this experience with the 5 other girls I went with. As this is a family place to go and have fun for a couple hours, I was extremely disappointed there was no changing tables to change my babies diaper. I had to do it on the floor and the employees didn't even try to help me find a safe spot to do it. My son had a good time painting and enjoyed his tea. With no changing tables and lack of care from employees we most likely won't be back. read more

You then go and pick the paints you want to use. They have a great demo by the paints to show you how many coats of paint to apply to get your desired color. They have a wide variety of paint brushes, stencils, books and techniques. The staff was so helpful and walk you through the process. What a cute place to spend an afternoon, picking out options of pottery or glass to paint with your imagination and a delicious cup of hot tea as you paint and create! I chose a large vase, and had fun painting and creating my masterpiece. They offer lots of paint colors, items and patterns to make designs and let your imagination take over. I went in a Saturday, and my piece was ready to be picked up the following Thursday. Great place for all ages, and saw children's birthday parties, couples, friends, and is a fun activity for all. While it's a fun activity to do, it's one likely to do every once in a while, as it is pricy. My vase was $40, plus tax and a pot of tea ended up costing $56 out the door. I'm originally from Bellingham and every time I come home for a visit I have to spend an afternoon at CreativiTea. The price is reasonable and they have a huge selection of pottery to choose from. I live in California, so compared to some of the places that do the same thing, the price here is so worth the trip. They have a large area where you can work on your project and enjoy some fun tea time treats. I love getting their sandwiches and a pot of tea. My niece will never turn down one of their cookies either. I'd recommend making a reservation if you want to go with a larger group or you want to go on the weekends. My family always loved coming here pre covid and post covid is still great! I took my adult siblings for some bonding time and we all had a high quality experience. All of the tables were spread out amply for social distancing. The people working there were also constantly sanitizing so everything was clean for the next group. Everyone was kind and helpful and we had such a fun day. Kind of a bummer that they don't serve tea anymore but thats just a covid casualty. read more

Super fun place to paint anything from a shot glass to a cookie jar. They provide all the supplies (including aprons) and have inspiration available if you need ideas. You can also order coffee or tea to enjoy while you're painting. It's not the cheapest hobby around - for two people is a challenge to get out of there for less than $40. We just went here last night. We had a great time. I have been to two other studios like this, and I think this one was a step above the rest. First of all, the ambience is wonderful. It is very calm and soothing. Everything is extremely clean and organized also. The painting studio is up the stairs in its own little area while all the pottery and paints are below. We didn't get to try the tea room as it was closed since we came late, but it looked delightful. Next time. You pick your own pottery. There is a mix of just for fun pottery and useful items. We tried to do something useful, so we made two pet bowls since you can never have enough of those. My husband was a little apprehensive because he said he was not creative, but once he looked at the idea book he really got into it. For those of you who aren't sure what to paint, there is lots of guidance from these cool little books that show you how to do all these wonderful techniques. They also have little stencil like things to help if you want to make intricate designs. I though those were great. The last paint your own pottery studio I went to, you were on your own. Sometimes the items didn't come that great either. Here there is everything you need to completely independently paint your own pottery or paint with a little help. They also have lots of brushes and so many beautiful paints. They even show you how everything will look after one to three coats. Lots of attention to detail, which I greatly appreciate. The prices aren't dirt cheap, but I thought they were reasonable. It was $20 for my pet bowl. This includes all materials ie paints and staff time. The staff also have to glaze it and fire it, so the prices make sense since you pay for more than just pottery. By the way, it takes five days for the pottery to be completed. Don't expect to take those home right away. I thought the staff was lovely also. They were very kind and they helped me whenever I needed it. Don't be afraid to ask them for help/ideas. This is a great place to take the kids, go on a date night, or hang out with the girls. I did see quite a few boys enjoying themselves too. :) Give it a try. Ordered the Afternoon set which came with 3 decent sized sandwiches, a palm-sized scone, cream and jam, and a dish of fresh fruit. A pot of tea of your choice is also included. Everything was delicious and well made, but for the price ($13 a person for one set) you're definitely also paying for the atmosphere. But as the only place in Bellingham, or even anywhere near Seattle, that does British style high tea, THIS is the place to go! For creativitea, the staff were friendly and space was available. But they were lacking brushes to use so I had to go hunting for more. Tracing paper was also not restocked. Prices of pottery were double the prices of other places like in Bellevue crossroads ($14-18 for a mug instead of $6?) but you get a huge paint choice, materials, stencils, embossing tools, etc. The pick up date is quick and fast! I appreciate the technique books they have at every table to h lo stimulate ideas if you want to try something new. This is a cool place! They have a bunch of different useful housewares to paint and pick from! They even have tools of help you create the perfect piece of pottery! They also have a menu that you can order from while you're painting so you can eat while being creative. We love this shop! The staff are very friendly and attentive, the whole place is super clean and well organized, and it's a fun activity. We've been several times and always enjoyed ourselves. Our only issue is that it's kind of an expensive hobby. They do have smaller little pieces you can paint (good for kids) that aren't too expensive. Although I haven't sampled the tea or food, my 9 year old and his friend had a GREAT time selecting and hand painting ornaments and we had a fun time/group effort creating a personalized gigantic dog food dish. There is a variety of useful items to choose to decorate, not just *dust collectors*, which I appreciated. Overall this is a fun way to spend an afternoon...would definitely go again and take more time exploring the different techniques advertised.
