Staff is incredibly knowledgeable and explained everything in a way that actually made sense Everyone was friendly and made it easy to ask questions Learned the basics of hive care, honey harvesting, and getting started on your own You can tell they genuinely care about the bees and what they're teaching 100% worth doing.

Plus Black Hammock Honey was only being sold in small plastic bottles. At Webb's you can get Honey in sizes that range from the small plastic bottles on up to gallon jugs. We get the glass quart sizes which are perfect. Generally Webb's has a choice of 2 honeys depending upon where the bee have been located that season. I asked the sales lady at Black Hammock why prices were high and why they don't sell in larger bottles like Webb's. I believe she responded, that unlike them, Webb's does produce their own honey. Something to that effect. I been going to Webb's since they had honey farm on 528, before they had to move to East Colonial due to a fire, I've not seen or read anything that would indicate that Webb's don't produce their own honey. They even sell a version of honey that is only partially refined (you can literally see the honey combs in the jar), for people that want it chunky, more raw... I stick to the refined, strained, honey that Webb's produces, but the other looks interesting. I thought it was strange that Black Hammock Bee Farm only sells in small plastic bottles. I could wrong, not a fact based opinion on my part, but it be a lot easier to just slap a black hammock label on small bottle that brought in from other producers... I would honestly pick Black Hammock to be one between the two farms that doesn't produce their own. We left, went back to the super nice sales lady at Webb's Honey off East Colonial. I recommend you do the same.
