He built out a full basement for us which included bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, utility room, closets and even a real cedar closet with actual cedar planks including the ceiling. He has replaced every window in the house with Andersen windows and even added French doors, sliding doors and a box window. He changed every door in the house to solid six panel doors and assisted in the family room and office built in by installing them. He build the most incredible custom walk in closet converting a bedroom into a spectacular use of space. He has renovated 3 bathrooms and kept them updated as needed most recently replacing a honed marble threshold in the shower and reinstalling the custom glass doors. The most recent improvement was the replacement of our gas water heaters since the old ones were starting to leak. He not only upgraded what we had, had the new ones delivered and installed all in one day in order to get us back up and running with little inconvenience. He has installed whole house water filtration, added instant hot and a garbage disposal making sure we have all the modern conveniences a home should have. He treats our home as if it is his own. The team worked seamlessly with the architect and the inspectors to make sure the permits were all in place. Tony was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We found that interviewing contractors for the job was stressful: costs were not disclosed up front and none gave us the feeling that we could trust them to deal with us fairly. So, it turned out to be a welcome pleasure to deal with Broadway Kitchen and Bath's owner, Jeff Chinman. From the beginning, he was honest and forthcoming about all aspects of the renovation. He really is a gem: a NYC vendor for many years who really has the customer's best interests in mind. While the showroom is unimpressive, it turns out that everything ordered through them turned out to be of good quality and reasonably priced. As various unexpected expenses were incurred, additional charges were also handled in a fair manner. At times when another contractor might have taken the easy way out on some aspect of the job, we found that Jeff would listen to our concerns and would try to find a solution that would satisfy us. No cutting corners! The two associates who were assigned to our job were terrific: Jimmy and Oscar. They managed to be as unobtrusive as they could be (e.g., cutting wood out on our balcony even in the bitter cold to minimize dust and noise). Would I hire them again? YES, absolutely. There was a manufacturer issue with the cabinets & they contacted them immediately. Then came to our home with someone from the manufacturer to point out the issues & make sure they were resolved. And this was after we paid them in full. Fast forward to today & they came to our home to resolve an issue with one of the cabinet pulls within 24 hours of calling them to explain what happened. It was refreshing to deal with a contractor who is a stand-up guy (his subcontractors said so as well which is always a good sign), provides good service (above and beyond) but also gets the job done. He and his workers did an excellent job installing flooring and painting in some rooms, redid a fireplace, and finished my garage. The work was stellar and he provided good guidance and suggestions along the way. I'm already looking to work on more projects with him.

He said that he could get the job done in one week and because of the type of wood in our home it would be better to go darker. Along the way there were some hiccups involving the color of the floor and how the floor would stain, but joe did stay in communication with us. HOWEVER Joe is a yes man. He will yes you the death and then when you aren't satisfied he will say "I don't know what else there is to do." I asked for an even dark finish and many of the panels were different colors as you can see in the picture. I had another independent company and one of Joe's employees come look at the floor. Both stated that some steps were missed. The floors are scratching left and right and we will definitely have to get another company to redo the floors. In the end I paid Joe over $3,000 and said the job was fine because it was too much hassle to get him to take accountability. I waited a month just to see if the color would settle in but it didn't. I called joe one last time to get advice and see if there's anything we could do. His response "this doesn't concern me anymore and of course other companies would tell you the floors look bad." While some parts of the home look beautiful other parts look absolutely awful and with all of the scratches we will definitely need to redo the floors.

It was my first time refinishing wood floors, my advice to anyone would be to cover everything with tarps to control dust from the sanding process. It's so worth it to have beautiful wood floors.
