My husband and I wanted to take our two boys (ages 3 and 4) kayaking on the Chetco this past weekend. It's early May and kayaking season for him doesn't really start until end of May. However, he made an acceptation and helped us out renting kayaks, gear and providing the shuttle service. Josh was warm, funny and extremely helpful. Because we have small guys we had to drive our car with the car seats to the drop off spot and he drove our car back to our campsite (Loeb park) while his wife took the shuttle car back. Josh even threw in some awesome squirt gun toys for our boys! It was so nice and turned out to be a highlight of the trip for our kids. Kept them well entertained.

It definately had 'Brookings' written…read moreall over it, and those of you who've ever been to the Lincoln City Kite Festival will know what I mean. I have never experienced interpretative "dance" kite flying before. (This is where the goofy comes in.) Whitney Houstan and other unknown pansy-artists flooded the field while some of the stupidest kites ever were dancing with the music. My husband and could not stop making jokes. We finally just left because we were being so rude! The announcer was just as sleepy as the music and who can blame him? 90% of the crowd was over 60 and nearly everyone watching this terrible show had camped out with lawn chairs. Is this really interesting enough to capture your attention all day? Oh my. My words don't do this festival justice.

However, the truth is that when I'm there with my baby, it's all about her. I give her 45 minutes of my undivided attention and surround her with catchy little songs and dance. My baby LOVES it. She literally squeals with delight at all the mommies and children dancing and singing, not to mention she loves to bang the drums and other little musical instruments Tricia brings. I'm so happy Juliana and I have a place where we can go and be together with other kids and their mommies, with no distractions. Tricia gives you two CD's the first day which includes two copies of the songs she does in the class. I keep one at her babysitters and one at home. I'm not exaggerating when I say, this CD at home has been a life saver. All we have to do is turn on the CD and her little legs start going up and down and she tunes out of grouchy mode and sings along. Thank you Tricia!
