San Diego sadly is very limited unlike Los Angeles but I followed her advice. After submitting EAA's online application, the self taped monologue that took me 2 hours for 1 min., and emotional prep that actors experience just to get into character I really made an effort. I immediately received the auto prompt email that a talent agent would get back to me "sowith more info that was over a week ago. I also contacted the agency and left a message for Tehar (owner); nothing. As a gay, effeminate, minority male I thought this agency looked diverse and could be a good fit. Sadly I didn't even get a courtesy email saying it's a pass or maybe try resubmitting, no response. With all the accolades for " Call me by your Name", "Moonlight" and Darren Criss's recent Emmy win for portraying a gay man you would think this "agency" would see a need to have a more diverse call sheet. I would expect a blow off as a new actor from maybe William Morris or Creative Artist but a small local agency with a small Instagram/ Facebook following? If your a openly gay actor or just new don't waste your time with submitting here. If an agency can't spend a minute emailing back a prospective client their not professional. I'll continue working on my acting career and when I snag something BIG; I'll resubmit for kicks LOL. UPDATE: I just signed with a major agent and sent over the final contracts tonight! Always remember when one door closes another one opens. Best of luck to all of you and keep following your dreams!

I came to Initiative Talent group after a host friend of mine warned me against many other coaches and praised Maureen for her genuine interest in helping hosts realize their potential. I am so glad my first hosting class was here at Initiative Talent Group! I took the "Ongoing Hosting Class" which is open to hosts of all levels of experience. I was so nervous, being a first-timer. This was the most supportive, non-judgmental environment I ever could have hoped for as my first plunge into the hosting world. Maureen creates such a positive environment that it's impossible for her students not the perpetuate the good vibes. Bottom line: Maureen is a leader in the industry. She's a hand-on instructor, she knows what she's talking about and she truly cares to see her students improve and ultimately succeed. Pricing is competitive and worth every penny. If you want to be a host, you need to know this lady! Plus, your classmates will likely become your friends!

Several years ago they represented my husband in a deal that could only be called extraordinary. One mid-level agency in LA offered my husband peanuts for his TV deal, and ICM hit it out of the park when we went to them. They literally got us 10x more per episode than the other agency was prepared to ask for. My husband was an unknown at the time, but ICM went to bat for him when brokering a deal with one of Hollywood's most powerful entities, and they never were unprofessional at any time. It's a testament that the world's most powerful talent agency, CAA, purchased ICM because they are a legacy firm in Hollywood.

He left us with an angry mob that rushed us demanding their money back. We had to pay everyone in attendance. Him and this con company stole $25,000 from us and put our lives in danger. One of my daughter's friends was an amateur photographer. She took several shots of him. We selected the "best" one, put a package together, and sent one to approx 20 agency's. About 1 month later, I got a call from CED, (the name of the agency at that time). The agency wanted an in-person interview with him. We scheduled a day and time. After speaking with him, alone, in a separate room, POW!!! He was signed and began almost ten years appearing in local, state, and even international commercials!! Bob Preston, his agent, stayed in close touch and made sure that he worked every appropriate opportunity. He made much more money than we had ever expected, and finally, began to be recognized in public. One of his last, and most successful roles was as "Big Brother," for the nonprofit, Partnership For A Drug Free America. Check it out on "You Tube" or "Reverb Nation." Yes... it's title is, "Big Brother." We were a low-income, single parent family of 5, (3 girls &.1 boy), from the Projects of East LA. This Agency provided the opportunity to discover and participate in several areas which we may have never been aware. My son, Christopher Lopez, went on to create, own, and promote his own independent record label, did health work in a village in Guinea, West Africa for almost 3 years, is a certified chef, worked with Eric Greenspan at The Foundry on Melrose and The Roof on Wilshire. He continues to write music and lyrics and still has an incredibly unique look and personality. Perfect for today's savvy, edgy, aware, diverse audiences. Maybe again...someday. Thank you so much CED/CESD..., we will always be grateful.
