We first met Bernie at a wedding showcase and we were immediately blown away by his stunning floral arrangements and warm personality. He was always prepared, responded promptly, and had numerous examples of previous floral designs and options to choose from. He even designs a sample centerpiece so you will know exactly what you will get. He encouraged us to take home the centerpiece and think about any changes that we might want to make and was very flexible when we asked for floral changes. Rest assured that if you want any changes or need any suggestions, he will go out of his way to find the florals or a design that is perfect for your occasion and will definitely create a design that you will love. The best thing about booking Creative Floral Designs is that Bernie made the entire process so easy for us. We cannot express enough how wonderful it was to work with him. He was hands down our favorite vendor. We received so many compliments from family and friends regarding our florals and they were so excited when they could take the centerpieces home. His prices also include the cost of the vase (and he has lots of options to choose from) so compared to other florists who would add additional costs, he was giving us a great deal. We went with Bernie for our wedding flowers and couldn't be happier! Overall, we were impressed with his responsiveness and floral knowledge and arrangement skills. One thing to note about his shop is that it's NOT a typical flower shop with fresh flowers on display. We're not very familiar with flower names and had hoped to have visuals, thinking we could choose flower types based on what we saw and he'd create a mock up at our appointment (similar to my friend's wedding experience at another florist). Nonetheless, he had plenty of digital pictures of his past work and was patient in explaining what was used and listened as we tried our best to describe our vision (we only had colors in mind at the time). He actually had a mock up centerpiece ready at the start of our appointment based on our initial email and kindly gifted it to us! Throughout the planning process, Bernie was very considerate in following our budget and gave thoughtful feedback as we exchanged emails about other details such as the bouquets, boutonnieres, corsages, and sweetheart table. On wedding day, he and his team were early to deliver and were efficient with set up. I was referred to Bernie and I'm so glad I went with him for our wedding florals because they turned out SO beautiful! Budget was a big factor during our wedding planning process and I was worried that we wouldn't be able to get the vision we wanted because of it especially after getting quotes from so many other vendors. However, Bernie understood our budget and brought my vision to life. Throughout the entire process, Bernie was very responsive, transparent, and knowledgeable. When we saw the sample he made, we knew that we made the right choice. Our ceremony + reception was located within the same space so Bernie had his staff make sure florals were set up correctly for both events. I've been ordering gorgeous arrangements for events like Mother's Day and birthdays over the past few years (from both store locations since in laws are in SGV and my own parents are in OC) and have NEVER been disappointed by the magical creations that arrive!! The price points are very fair considering the high quality of the flowers and aesthetic standards that they hold. Delivery is always on time and I've never had an issue with any of my orders. Bernie was great to work with and he is reasonably priced - will work within your budget to give you the flowers you need! He was accomodating and a true professional from beginning to end. After one of my friends' crazy wedding fiasco where the florist completely forgot about her flower order the DAY OF her wedding and scrambled to put things together just 2 hours before the wedding, I was a bit nervous about how all my vendors would do. But Bernie showed up well before the wedding start time and everything on-site and ready to go for me. I truly LOVED my bouquet, it was gigantic (so big that I could barely wrap my hand around it)... but I did not love the boutonnieres and bridesmaid bouquets. They were okay, and I guess I was even slightly disappointed in the lack of creativity... but I also did not give Bernie much precision and direction in what look I was going for besides color scheme (lavender/sage). This review is long overdue. I have been using Bernie since 2012 on multiple occasions but specifically...Valentine's Day. He not only never dissapoints, but he always amazes me! When I first called him, I saw that he was very creative so i told him what kind of flowers I wanted, how much I wanted to spend (if you're a cheapass then the review ends here for you) and asked him to "do his thing" and he did just that. I will NEVER go to another florist as long as Bernie is around! I've also asked him for funeral arrangements and just because flowers and its always above and beyond. His work is well worth the money, sometimes I feel like I'm getting a discount because these arrangements have to be worth more (please dont read that last line Bernie...the prices are fine where they are Hahaha!) One time, some flowers began to droop a little early and he came out and put new flowers and re-arranged it all at no extra charge...now THATS customer service! Honestly, this picture doesn't do it justice. This was for a friend whose mother had passed away. I wasn't from the area so I looked at Yelp and saw a lot of good reviews for this florist. Bernie! When I went in to Creative Floral Designs to talk wedding flowers, I had NO idea what I wanted. I mean really, I probably couldn't have named a single flower outside of a sunflower or a rose. Looking through magazines only overwhelmed me. I had some vague idea that I might like a hydrangea because, you know, I'd seen one on pinterest. What a wreck. Bernie smiled, avoided making me feel like an idiot even in the slightest, and immediately began making suggestions. He patiently scrolled through a MILLION pictures and allowed me to say "I like this, but I don't really like this," and, "Is there any way that you could combine this with that?" Bernie wasn't afraid to tell me that certain things I suggested wouldn't look great together and to make alternative suggestions. By the time I left, I totally trusted him and felt like a rockstar for knowing what a lisianthus was. Bernie was kind enough to make a sample centerpiece for me before my wedding, which helped me plan the rest of the table decorations. On wedding day, Bernie showed up early and delivered bouquets even more beautiful than I had hoped. Looking at my bouquet was the first thing that made me feel like the wedding was actually happening - I am clearly not a flower person, but it made me tear up!
