Ms Shrivani and Ms Rose (Room 10 teachers) are absolutely incredible. They taught my daughter so much from math, spelling, science, history etc. I felt like they really prepared her for Kindergarten. They are so caring to all of their students. They organized the greatest events as well, for example Mother's Day/ Father's Day, Graduation Day. They made these special moments so fun! They put so time and effort into what they do and it shows. I wish my daughter could stay in their class forever but she has now aged out. He was half day initially, but we decided to extend after he was potty trained. He grew to love going to school and eventually during pick up, he'd hide behind his fingers which he explained "I was hiding because I want to stay at school". He loved his teachers and I can tell he got the individualized care he needed. The teachers are amazing, and you truly feel they care about your child. It's also small enough that your kid (and you) know all the teachers quickly, no matter what class they normally teach. The class sizes are also smaller than a lot of other locations, and every class has its own individual classroom and outdoor space, which is really nice. For those younger than 2 years old, you get a detailed daily report (milk, meals, diaper changes). For those 2 and above, separate gym and music classes are done weekly with a dedicated PE and music teacher. At 3 and above, an optional Mandarin class is also offered, and my older child actually learned a lot from it! They also start doing rotations such as Spanish, social studies, etc, so they start learning about a variety of topics. For all ages, you get frequent photos and videos sent on the Brightwheel app to keep you updated. In the summer, they have a daily schedule with fun activities that include things like various dress up themes, water play, bike day, and different activities on campus (foam party, magic show, petting zoo, etc). It's a blast for the kids! When my older child started elementary school, I actually again visited some other schools that would have been more convenient for now a daily two location drop off and pick up, but in the end, we still elected to keep our younger one at Good Sam. When it came time to find childcare for my second child, there was no question that I'd be enrolling him in GSP. Within the first two weeks of starting, he developed so many skills, just from being immersed in such a stimulating, interactive, and supportive environment! The front desk staff are professional and friendly, the teachers go above and beyond to educate the children in creative and fun ways, and the broader network of parents is close-knit and mutually supportive. In fact, we have made many friends with other GSP families and often arrange playdates even outside of childcare hours, just because my children miss their classmates so much! I trust this community whole-heartedly to be my children's home away from home. Every staff member here is committed to caring for the whole child, and the GSP community really feels like a family. This place is a real gem, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is looking for a loving, nourishing place for their child to grow in the crucial years of early childhood!

Sweet Butterfly is an excellent daycare. We sent our oldest here from 13 months until after his 3rd…read morebirthday. We are now sending our youngest (also started at 13 months). Highlights: 1. The curriculum and activities are very intentional and thoughtfully planned by the owner, Teacher Cindy Traidman. The kids learned about shapes, colors, letters, days of week, and the significance of holidays. They also practice saying please and thank you, saying sorry, how to wash their hands, and how to feed themselves. 2. The food is nutritious. The staff provides morning snack (2 fruits and starch), lunch (rice/noodles/bread, meat/tofu, vegetables, fruit, and milk), and also dinner! The milk and eggs are organic. The meals are seasoned and very well-balanced (including leafy greens) and typically freshly cooked. We receive photos of the food at almost every lunch and dinner. And my oldest son is very good at eating vegetables, partially because of constant exposure at daycare. 3. The staff to student ratio is really high. On any given day there are 8-12 students max, depending on current enrollment and absences. There have been 3 full-time staff and a rotating cast of part-time staff, some of whom are from the student program which Teacher Cindy runs to train young adults. 5. Teacher Cindy (and Teacher Chao Yu) primarily use Mandarin with the kids, but also communicate to us (the parents) in English. Teacher Anna and the junior staff only speak English to the kids. So the kids truly get the full bilingual experience, and many parents who don't speak mandarin (including us) send their kids to Sweet Butterfly. 4. The staff is warm and cater to each student's needs. They give the kids lots of hugs, and held/patted our babies to sleep when they were still adjusting to naps in the daycare crib. They feed kids who are still learning how to eat and use utensils. They make sure every kid is dressed appropriately for the weather. Teacher Cindy requires us to send sun hats in the sunny months, rainsuits in the wet months, sleep sacks for naps, and always makes sure to put jackets on the kids in the winter (sometimes zipped in the back for kids who are fond of taking off their clothes), and sunscreen in the summer. 5. Music class from 9:30-10:00am on Mondays is a very interactive session taught by Teacher Sean from Sean's Music Factory! (He also runs the paid class at Santa Clara Community Center). Teacher Sean plays his guitar, and also brings instruments (drums, xylophones, shakers) for the kids to try out as well. It's an incredible value that we are so lucky to get included in the Sweet Butterfly experience. 6. The staff send constant photo updates throughout the day via their Brightwheel app. We typically get multiple photos of each activity of the day (morning lesson, morning outdoor play, afternoon lesson/craft, afternoon outdoor play) and also their lunch and dinner food. We don't typically get photos of morning snack food, kids eating, or kids napping, but are very happy to get such unprecedented visibility as we do. 7. Staff really go out of their way to celebrate birthdays and graduation. Parents can bring cake/decoration/gifts themselves or give a budget to Teacher Cindy to organize. The staff have been so supportive of setting up the party and making our kids feel special. 8. The outdoor playground is AMAZING. It is really perfect for this age range. The backyard is so spacious with a play structure and so many bikes, trikes, and cars for the kids to ride. There are also walkers, balls, and other outdoor toys. The perimeter of the backyard makes a perfect round paved track for the kids to ride their bikes on. Things to keep in mind: - In our experience, the best age for Sweet Butterfly is between 1.5-3yo. At 13 months, our kids still couldn't walk, often needed 2 naps a day, and struggled to go from 11:30 lunch until 4:00 dinner without a snack in between. Although the schedule and facility can be challenging for infants, it is very ideal for toddlers. Sweet Butterfly's outdoor playground is better for kids who can walk. The meal and nap schedule is better for kids who are firmly on a 1-nap schedule, and can go up to 5 hours without eating. After 3yo, other kids started to leave for preschool so the new cohort was very young. We would have happily kept our 3yo there longer but there were no longer other kids his age anymore. Meeting Teacher Cindy changed everything. She listened intently to our concerns, took the time to truly understand our son, and reassured us that he would flourish--which he absolutely did. The teachers are the heart of Sweet Butterfly--especially Teacher Cindy, Teacher Anna, Teacher Hsu, and Teacher Anna J. They treat every child with extraordinary warmth and respect, fostering a genuine, family-like environment. The fact that our son constantly talks about his teachers speaks volumes about their connection. Another huge bonus is the delicious, healthy, homemade meals they provide. Our son still mentions how much he misses the food! They were upfront and transparent when concerns arose, but above all cared for each child as if they were their own. The Assistant Directors and Directors were always in the Lobby to answer questions and interact with families. Ms. Michelle's Kindergarten program is legendary and of the highest standards. She goes above and beyond to nurture, educate, and prepare her students for Kindergarten/1st Grade. I have never seen a teacher give so much of herself to her students and love every minute of it. Both of my children had the privilege of being in her classroom and they were transformed under her guidance. We will forever be grateful to her and will consider her part of our extended family. Outside of the classroom, KinderCare Sunnyvale also provides a wide range of additional experiences to help children grow. Experiences like Learning Adventures (phonics, cooking, etc), Amazing Athletes (sports program), guest presenters (petting zoos, reptile shows, train rides, music performers, etc) and events (Summer Kick Off party, graduations, Mother's Day & Father's Day activities, etc). With many of these experiences, families also get to participate alongside their children. The KinderCare Sunnyvale facilities is in well maintained, inviting, and secure. We are unsure why she felt this way. 3. In contrast, when we enrolled her in a different daycare within one week, she felt much better and even liked the teachers there. The families often hang out there for up to an hour after school, and the kids are very friendly.

I don't even know where to begin with how impressed we are with this school!  First, there are Russian-speaking teachers but this is an international community with kids from different backgrounds. The school has an impressive academic schedule which offers a variety of classes, including extra classes if, like us, you wish for your child to focus a little more on a particular subject such as math or Russian language.  Second, their approach to learning is fun and innovative. They are constantly moving, singing, dancing, creating, and being taught to critically think. SCDC has an easy approach to learning. Information isn't forced onto kids rather, the teachers seamlessly engage kids with these fun activities that encourage them to problem solve and evolve. We were well impressed when Svetlana - who is an absolutely incredible teacher - was teaching them elements of physics (yes, you read that correct). In a fun, easy way Svetlana demonstrated to the class how an orange floats on water because of air in its peel and sinks without its peel. Natalia runs an incredibly impressive school. The staff is very professional, courteous, and attentive to each child. This is very clear when you drop off, pick up your kid. They are passionate and proud of what they do. It's a very transparent, safe, friendly environment. They also have an app, where if you like, they share with you your kids' daily activities and photos. For me, a mama always worried even when my babies are attached to me at the hip, this is really important.  There has been a noticeable improvement in our daughter's development and growth for the month or so that she spent going there. Our daughter really blossomed in that environment. We were even a little sad to go back home to our regular preschool because SCDC set the bar so high. We started half a day from 9am to 1:30pm for the first 2 months until she turned 1. She was still crawling at that time but Priya and everyone welcomed and helped her adapt quickly. This is the place where she learned how to walk, eat, talk, sing, dance, play puzzles. It really felt like a family. Priya's daughter was her big sister and she would call her name when she needed help at home. My daughter was loved and she had so much fun outside the school hours too. She enjoyed the swing and bike ride to the park after school. We are truly thankful for the last 22 months she was here. We could not have possibly asked for more.
