But the work they do is incredible. They have the knowledge and expertise to frame anything. While I was there having a poster custom mounted, I noticed that many families of servicemen and women were having their memorabilia turned into art - it's pretty cool how they can turn those momentos into something beautiful that can hang on your wall forever. Last year, I approached John Korom, the owner, about bringing my installation Still Life 69 which had been shown before, to show at his gallery. He agreed as long as I brought new work. Good call. Not only did I get to show the installation in a different setting, I had new work to show also. John actually sent out email blasts, facebook posts etc about the show. The space is really special. He employs a special system for hanging your art, one like I've never seen before. I've never hung a show and it was really easy to do. Each artist has their work up for a month. The second one I used my own frame and bought a Matt from them, and 3rd one I ordered a custom frame, and explained I needed it on 8 days. They assured me it would be ready. They left me a message 5 minutes before closing on the day before I was supposed to pick it up saying it didn't make it on the truck but it was no big deal, they would have it ready for me in another week. (I think it didn't make it on the truck because they forgot to order it. )Obviously, this is so unprofessional it's laughable. I needed the painting framed this weekend and now I'm going to have to find another frame store. I know that sometimes these things happen but I really didn't appreciate that they didn't even have the courtesy to let me know until 7:55pm the night before.

When I returned with the pieces, he quoted me three times what he had originally, claiming the parts would damage his machine (not true). When I called the original Madison framer who did the work, they told me that they wish I hadn't taken it apart because there's a "correct" way to do it. This guy is just in it for the money. So if you have enough to buy an Hermes bag. You can always get the box framed there-- happily I'm sure.
