I've now taken two introductory classes with two different teachers, and I still learned so much from the second class as well. Both teachers were wonderful, including the owner, who was so much fun! This was not the first time I took an introductory class in working clay on the wheel. But it was the first time the teacher sat with us the whole time and not only showed us what to do, but did it with us, showing us how to sit, how to hold our arms, and how to place our fingers and hands to turn a lump of clay into something recognizable. Not that it was easy, but it was fun. We started with lumps of clay and after four classes had three or four pieces that were painted and ready to be fired for the second time. Great people, great conversations and amazing art. When I started taking classes I just wanted to try something new to get my artistic juices flowing, inbetween my life of finance. I got so much more. Made great friends, shared stories and when I just need quiet time with my art, I started Me Time. However, I do recommend taking two sessions of hand building before moving on to Me Time, or take really good notes. Just know, clay is a volatile, unpredictable medium, you never know what the final look will be until it's out the kiln. Which makes it all the more fun. Enjoy! read more

I can't even begin to explain how incredible my experience with creative ceramics has been! I wanted to try pottery for awhile and after a ton of research decided to try "hand building 101". After the 1st class I was hooked! The class meets 1 time a week for a set number of weeks. The last class you glaze your art and then they fire it for you to take home. You get complete artistic freedom and the teachers are do knowledgeable. I ended up making 1 giant piece and then a smaller one while others made 4 small pieces or just focused on 1 large one. The class fee includes all supplies. I immediately enrolled in "wheel 101" as soon as I finished hand building. I'm glad I took them in that order because wheel is definitely more difficult but still super fun. The best part of this studio is that it's a community as well. Everyone genuinely cares about one another. Whether you need a creative outlet, fun hobby, place to make friends, or a new form of meditation - I highly recommend creative ceramics. The class I took was great. Melissa was a wonderful, kind, and supportive teacher. I can not say the same of the owner, who is cold, rude, and unprofessional. Bottom line is: firing pieces was always delayed by weeks. It appeared to me that kiln space was too limited to accommodate the work production. I never received my very first piece. No explanation. In the end, and with no notice to me, the owner got rid of SEVEN pieces I made! Imagine working and putting heart and soul into your art, only to find out that the pieces were given away to children in one of the owner's pottery classes (I was, at first, told that they were "donated" which was a lie). The owner claimed that an email went out with a deadline to pick up our work . An email had in fact been sent, according to a couple of classmates. I, however, did not receive an email. The owner said she would send a screen shot to prove that it was sent. I never received that notification either. Clearly a terrible mistake was made, yet the owner was very cold, rude, and unsympathetic, blaming me. Not even a simple apology. Just anger and indignation on her part that I had been upset in front of other students when I learned that she had gotten rid of 7 works of art that were mine. I just finished my first class at Creative Ceramics, and I can say unequivocally that it was not only a great experience, but also a productive, enjoyable, relaxing 3 hour opportunity to learn and create. I am SO pleased to be there. Let me tell you why. First, the owner, Kristen, held the class for just two of us. That says a lot all by itself. Second, I learned more from Kristen in the 3 hours I was there, than I learned in a pottery class I just finished that lasted 9 weeks. The founder Kristin is really the best, she is so good with kids my daughter absolutely adores her. Kristin is super smart, funny, caring and let you be as creative as you want to be. Her staff is great as well. My daughter loves Anita as well, she is so inspiring! My 8 y.o daughter is taking her classes for a year now. Initially we started because our art studio was closed and I was looking for something to replace it. Well, now Ceramics is her favorite activity and even though she continues to go to Art (which finally opened after lockdown) Ceramics is her # 1. She made some pretty beautiful pieces: elephant, big cat, plates, animals, holders, cups, etc, wall art. It's quite a drive for me but it so worth it. Kristin goes above and beyond the call of duty, she clearly cares about kids, she is so creative and fulfilled with desire to teach and create . Her classes are very small and safe. Studio is very clean. My daughter absolutely loves her and learns to much, she is obsessed with ceramics now. On top of everything we know ceramics does for your development I believe it also promotes patience, creativity and discipline as well. The art itself is a bit hard, definitely harder than paint night but it is amazing learning experience. The class is two hours but she thinks it ends too quickly, Kristin teaches them so much beyond just clay. Thank you Kristin and Anita! They teach adult classes too. My two kids learned how to work with clay and made some amazing art and some functional things too! The toothbrush holders they made, they still use every day. My daughter, by the way, is usually not comfortable being left alone at group classes. However, after one visit with Kristin, my daughter wanted to not only stay without me to work on her ceramics, but she was always the last kid out the door!
