I attended Pastimes for a Lifetime Art classes for many years growing up and found so much peace and comfort in coming into the studio and painting. I learned so much from Linda she's a very special person I'm so lucky I know her! Just recently I had a painting party with her at her studio which I haven't been back to in ages and it was a blast! Linda provided cute little snacks, paint, aprons, rags, tea and coffee for myself and some of my friends! She curated lots of fabulous pictures to paint including food, sunsets, and flowers as well and we all had an awesome time! Everything was so easy to plan and schedule with my friends with the help of Linda and her amazing assistant Jessica! My kids have been enrolled for more than 2 years in both Art and Piano under Teacher Linda. They adore her and are continuously inspired by her. They have greatly honed their skills through her classes which are engaging/entertaining and very educational - keeps them away from their gadgets while in class and when they practice at home too. Working with Linda on piano has been such a wonderful experience. I've received drawing lessons and piano lessons with Linda. I want to note that I also have a disability with arthritis and limited ability with my hand joints. She is one of the most patient and helpful instructors I've ever met. Her ability to understand her students and listen to our concerns makes her one of the best teachers to work with. I'm fortunate enough to have started taking piano lessons earlier this year with Linda. Her teaching approach and methods completely lay the proper foundation for everything you need to know, especially as a beginner. When I was around 9 years old, I briefly took piano lessons but the experience was fragmented and a bit overwhelming. Ms Linda is great teacher!! She teaches them how to measure, graphite techniques, tone, proportion such as very basic skill to drawing. Also, teaches how to paint water color, oil pastel, acrylic, oil painting, value of color, how to see the things. She never push them too far. Always little buy little it's up to the person's pace. Like my daughter once took almost 3month to finish a master piece of graphite sketch. The part I mostly like is all ages work in the same room. They inspired each other that way. I finally found a very charming, classroom experience, without being in the school room atmosphere. Linda is an excellent teacher, keeps you focused, and taught me so much I didn't know, after years of working at painting. Wonderful classes! I go to art class twice a month and I love it. The class is small and personal. Linda make sure everyone gets one on one time. I never have to wait when I have a question and Linda knows EVERYTHING about art. The history behind the artists and the products I use. It's great to know how my Prussian Blue paint is made before I use it:) The pricing is great also. You can't beat it and the students are all lovely. I am a make-up artist looking to improve my technique. After just a few classes my work had improved. I have work from high end couture designers and many photographers in LA. My daughter 8, has had the privilege of working with Linda for over a year now. She has learned so much!! Linda's studio is easy to find and in a central location. We drive from Woodland Hills, about 20-25 minutes on surface streets. I love her studio! The little pathway to the back where it is located is surrounded by a beautiful garden and trees. Very serene and peaceful. Inspirational for the young artist! My daughter loves the atmosphere, she always tells me how much she enjoys her art class. I was introduced to Pastimes for a Lifetime through a "Groupon" that was given to me for my birthday over a year ago, best gift ever!!! Since then, I have become a weekly student, it's one of the best parts of my week! Linda is a wonderful instructor, kind and patient. She works well with children, teens and senior citizens. I highly recommend her, especially if you feel you have no talent, Linda will coax it out of you, I see it happen all the time! Class size is small and everyone works at their own pace and in different mediums. I began my journey as most do, with pencil drawing. I have been an oil painter for several years but I never learned how to draw! Linda is taking away that fear! I've learned that magic can be created with oil pastels and I am now wielding a watercolor brush! Perhaps in the future I will move on to Acrylics and Oils but right now I am finding watercolor to be so much fun! There is always beautiful music playing and Linda often has stories to tell about the music/musicians, a true teacher! Linda is an excellent teacher and I enjoyed the structure of the studio and classes. I took the intro to drawing classes after never drawing and found Linda to be very easy teacher to follow. She really explains all the concepts rather than just giving instructions so you have a full learning experience that sets you up for success. I am an adult beginning piano student. I played music when I was young (not piano) and I find Linda's method to be just what I was looking for in a return to music performance. My boyfriend is a long-time cartoon illustrator, and I haven't taken an art class since elementary- so it was amazing to me that the course could be tailored to our strengths and weaknesses, as well as teach us both some excellent tricks for drawing. Amazing results in such a short time. Our son 16yrs old was in some serious need in understanding the fundementals and concepts of art. Even though he had become quite good, his works were all over the place. Linda taught him that the elements of art consist of color, value, line, texture, shape, form and space... way over my head. But as a result he got excepted in animation school and a invite to Cal Arts summer program. Both need to see portfolios for acceptance before taking your money... LOL.
