If you're considering Superior for flooring installation -- think twice…read more This company was slow to respond, dishonest in their pricing, and gave every impression they were trying to rip us off. Here's what happened: I was renovating a rental unit and initially contacted a well-reviewed local flooring company. Their schedule was full for 4-5 months, but they recommended going through Home Depot for faster service -- which felt like a solid endorsement. I reached out to Home Depot, and they said they could fit us in much sooner. They assigned the job to Superior. Things started off fine: Superior came out quickly for an initial assessment, quoted us around $7,200, and said any additional necessary leveling would be quoted separately once the old floor was removed. We were transparent about prior water damage and the fact that the floor wasn't level. They noted this in the quote and seemed to understand and some leveling was included in the original quote with the understanding more may be needed once they took up the old floor and understood the full scope. We paid and got on their schedule -- though it was still two months out. When they finally showed up and removed the old flooring, they "discovered" residual moisture (which everyone was already aware of), and abruptly left, refusing to continue the work. This wasn't standing water -- just minor residual moisture that dried within a day. Still, they pushed us back another month. When they finally returned, that's when the real nonsense began: they demanded an additional $8,000 for leveling -- more than doubling the original cost. We expected some additional cost for leveling. But their claim? They needed 140 bags of leveling compound. I asked for a proper breakdown of labor and materials. They refused. I pushed for three days. They still refused. Eventually, I went to Home Depot and asked to speak to a manager to hopefully push Superior to get us a detailed quote. They did just that and eventually Superior relented. But what I got was a single-line item with a vague description and a total -- no breakdown, no explanation. Just a number. Again, I understood there could be some overage beyond the original $7,200. But more than double the price? For context: leveling compound costs about $20-30/bag at retail. At $30/a bag - that's $4,200 for 140 bags -- and that's the most expensive compound we found at HD and is estimated at full retail, and not the lower rate contractors typically get. So where was the other $3,800 going? We'd already paid for labor in the original quote, and Superior told me in person on the day of install when doing the estimate, that no additional labor time would be needed -- just curing time. So what exactly were we paying for? No one could answer. I got fed up and gave Home Depot an ultimatum: either assign a new contractor or refund my money. Thankfully, they assigned someone new. That contractor immediately gave us a detailed quote, estimated 80 bags (not 140), and ended up using only 75. The job was completed quickly and for thousands less -- and we even got a partial refund for the unused material. So, was Superior trying to scam us? Hard to say definitively -- but it sure felt that way. Either they were wildly incompetent, or they were being intentionally dishonest. I'm leaning heavily toward the latter. Why? Because they waited until the day of install -- not demo day -- to even estimate how much leveling material they'd need. Why show up ready to install with no clue what you need to do the work? Probably because they knew this was a rental unit and figured we'd be desperate to finish, so we'd just agree and pay whatever they told us. Bottom line: I've been overcharged before -- but this felt deliberate. They stalled us with avoidable delays, refused transparency, and tried to trap us with a bloated, last-minute bill. Another contractor used nearly half the materials they claimed we'd need. Avoid Superior. There are better, more honest contractors out there. And if you're working through Home Depot, tell them upfront that you refuse to work with Superior. Trust me -- it's in your best interest.

We signed with Simple Flooring in February of this year, and I wish that I could give this company…read more5 stars, but, unfortunately, my experience with them only continued to go downhill. I'll start by saying that the quote we recieved was reasonable, and the women in the office (Michelle & Sandra) were very helpful and quick to respond. I appreciated their communication. Additionally, the technician who actually installed the flooring (John) was very polite, clean, and efficient. We were very pleased with his professionalism and work. However, it was the interactions with the owner (Igor) that were unfortunate. Our flooring project was for a small bathroom and short hallway, and I was told it would only take one day to complete. So, I was surprised when the technician said they would have to come back to do the transitions and Igor would call me later that day to schedule. No call from Igor, so three days later I had to follow up. A one day project turned into a three week project, and one that left us continuously waiting for the owner to show up to finish the job, each time arriving much later than promised. Completely not showing up on a Saturday afternoon and then arriving 45-60 minutes late for additional appointments, without any attempt to communicate, sends a message that your client's time is not valued or respected. Then, when the transitions were finally installed three weeks later, the visit felt rushed and was evident by the fact that one of the doors did not even close all the way over the transition. This seems like one of the first things that should be checked before leaving a job site. Once again I had to contact the owner to come back to correct the issue, and once again, waited for his late arrival the following day to finally finish the project. We are happy with the final outcome as most of the work was completed by John, but the frustration stemming from the interactions with the owner and constant need for follow-up on my end do not allow me to give this company a stellar review.
