They've recently been featured on WJZ, too! There is a huge selection of costumes for adults and kids in every genre and theme you can imagine, plus real dance outfits you can buy. We are a witch and a vampire this year and wanted to go all out for the Science Center Halloween party. I bought a long sparkly black dancer's dress that I already know I'll reuse for Ren Fest and future Halloween costumes. My fiancée got a very vampiric red cloak and vest combo, plus glue on fangs (not the plastic kind!) and a vampy medallion. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the owner came in and spent time with us to help put together a good outfit and chatted with us about her story. Such amazing service and a really nice personal touch. Whether you like supporting a local business, you hate Party City and Spirit Halloween's cheap offerings, or you want to purchase items you can use and reuse, this is the place to go!

It's located in the old Sears building in Bowie Town Center but it's around back except my husband calls it the front. Just ride around the building, you'll see a big sign. My first impression was "WOW!" It's so spacious, clean, well stocked and organized. The staff was plentiful, friendly and ready to assist. I wanted to buy so many things but this was a first run, when I make my list. I'll be back Friday to get a few things and then a few more times before the season ends. There was a tiny haunted house to go through which was really cool. Not too scary but my kid enjoyed it and so did I. I have my eye on a 2 ft creepy doll that I just HAVE to get this coming weekend! They also had a few animatronics set up which provided some great jump scares, hilarious! I'm on the fence about posting the video. Don't want to spoil it for others (evil grin). Seems wheelchair/scooter accessible and the isles were wide. I didn't notice if there were restrooms though. Hope you get to check it out. The best one I've seen yet!

I was initially hoping to dress up as one of the heist crew members from The Town, once I saw the nun costume. Unfortunately there weren't any Nixon, Bush, or Bill Clinton masks... but multiple Obamas and Hilarys. Picked up a demi-mask for a masquerade ball, but there was a severe lack of easy elastic; while it seems more durable to stock masks with hinged, hard headbands, that makes it tougher for people with mongo skulls to play Zorro. It just seems wasteful to me to spend so much on a costume if it will only be worn once. What my husband really wanted was for us to dress up as the characters from Step Brothers with Will Farrell and John Reilly, but I couldn't bring myself to pay for the expensive costumes. We settled for other costumes. My husband found a priest shirt, which included a collar, cross, necklace, and flask for $29.99. I purchased a devil kit, which included a headband, choker, and tail for $14.99. The irony is that I am the goody two shoes and he's a devilish boy. Lol. I found a coupon code online for 20% off an item. I asked a staff member if the code could be used in the store and he said yes. My husband and I paid separately and were able to get 20% off for each. Sweet! Staff were friendly and helpful. Ready for our halloween party and glad we didn't pay a fortune for them.

I mentioned to them he only needed a belt for a superman costume. He got a one size fits most Superman costume 07386790 . He is forever Superman. They didn't have a fitting room to try on. Well, it didn't fit him. I had given him $40 for this trip and the costume was about $59.00. Since I owed the program money, they didn't send the receipt. I got the receipt and went to the store on Friday evening. I went to a bigger store in Catonsville hoping they would have the plus size for this costume. They didn't and told me even if they did, they didn't have the capability to make and exchange or return because the last day to do so was 10/24. I explained the situation and they gave me the corporate number and suggested I went to the Columbia store. I went to the Columbia store and told me if they had the plus size, they would have exchanged it, but they didn't. They suggested I went to 3 other stores. The one in Catonsville, which I had already gone to. One is Aspen Hill and Glen Burnie. I asked if they could call the store to please hold the costume and would go and they refused. Then, I called the corporate number. I spent 40 minutes waiting to speak to someone. The lady told me to put what happened in writing. Return the costume to the address she provided and take a photo of the return label. I am doing exactly that. All I wanted was the right size for the costume, now I want his money back. I am so sad to know the people serving others with special needs do not understand and are not flexible with their policies. I never thought Halloween was going to be ruined by just pure lack of understanding and human decency. I was chosen to be my son's voice, because unfortunately he can't express himself and his disappointment. Sincerely, Thania T. Torres

We weren't there for a costume this time... well, I guess we sort of were... My wife teaches high school forensics and she wanted to buy a wig to construct a head for an activity for her class. She had certain requirements (short, had to fit over top of a football helmet, and cheap since it would be rendered useless after her students beat it with tools and analyzed the "blood" spatter patterns). The sales girl was extremely knowledgeable of the available merchandise and was able to help us find something to meet my wife's needs pretty quickly. Picking up on that my wife is a teacher, she also told us about their services of helping school drama departments outfit themselves for shows, and she gave us a 10% discount when my wife showed her faculty ID card. Prices were about as expected, service was exemplary. We will definitely go back there next time we need a costume!
