Our invitations are beautiful, and I know she has to try to upsell, but every.single.time we went she would not leave us alone about ordering other things. Way past the point of making a friendly suggestion... she was trying to pressure us into ordering napkins, thank you notes, blah, blah, blah from her. She also forgot to order an extra insert for my invitations. They got there before we sent them out, so not the end of the world, but she wouldn't really take responsibility for it. I don't know. My invitations turned out great, but Elaine became an annoyance that just prattled on and on.

We ordered our invites, we had negotiated a 10% total discount and no sales tax for a total of 15% off plus no shipping charges. Thank-God we had a contract... When the invites arrived in we went to get them, first off we were missing countless envelopes( not her doing but still she should have checked before calling us and ordered them from the vendor) Haverhill was a hike from our home. When it came time to pay the balance she suddenly forgot that we got a discount, paid no sales tax and tried to charge us shipping charges. When we talked to her about this she started yelling at us. Who the heck did she think she is. We were spending a decent amount of $$ in her shop. She finally pulled our contract from her files and saw in her own handwriting that what we were saying was true. She "agreed to honor this, but said she hated feeling taken advantage of". Taken advantage of was right, but from the other side of the table. How many countless brides has she done this too?? There are so many places to get invites... This place I would never recommend

Cardsmart is like Hallmark's kid sister. It's a franchise so they mostly look alike. They carry…read moremany similar items as other card and/or gifty shops so you can find candles, christening gifts, wedding paraphernalia, jewelry, purses, etc. They advertise "50% off every card, every day". Their cards are obviously not the same as you'd find in the Hallmark stores, but you can find a pretty good selection for most events you might need. If you need a card and you're near a Cardsmart, stop in, they can fix you up.

Why do the employees have such difficulty ringing up sales properly? Today, they were running a 20%…read moreoff promotion called the Gift of Giving. If you purchase an ornament for 3.99 (with a portion of the price being donated to a food pantry), you receive 20% off your entire purchase. My sister was asked, and said yes to the donation even though they ran out of ornaments. As soon as we left the store and looked at the receipt we found that no discount was applied to her purchases which totaled in excess of $120. This is the second time this type of thing has happened to us at this store. Here I sit, 20 minutes and counting since she went back in to try and rectify the error. This is ridiculous...get your act together and do it right the first time.

The staff are friendly, kind, attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable, and the flowers offered are incredible, thoughtfully sourced, and difficult to find elsewhere. You can order professional arrangements or make your own bouquet out of the flowers sold by the stem. I've been doing the latter, and it's a regular source of joy and creativity for me, and it's absolutely helped with the winter doldrums that often come with being a New Englander. If you need a hostess gift for a party or holiday, there are plenty of options at Cymbidium, ranging from artful seasonal bulb terrariums to tea, macarons, and homemade candles. They also always have lots of user-friendly houseplants to choose from. I've had really good luck with the plants I've bought, including some gorgeous orchids. It may sound corny, but I like knowing that I'm supporting a small business owned and operated by wonderful people, as small brick & mortars that help give a town character are becoming fewer and farther between. I'd rather spend a little bit more for something truly unique and lovely than grab a quick, nondescript bunch of flowers at a grocery store chain. Cymbidium is truly the best, and I highly recommend it!

The shop itself is beautiful, with a great selection of gifts, but their florals are truly the standout--every arrangement is stunning. I've been going here for over 10 years for special occasions (and sometimes just because), and they never disappoint. Such a special spot in the Seacoast community.
