Visiting New York to drop my daughter off for college, we visited Chelsea Market to allow each person in the family a chance to pick what they wanted to eat. It's a busy and bustling "food court" and my wife landed at CREAMLINE. The burgers and waffle fries were indeed great... but the most TOP NOTCH thing about this place was the friendliness, attentiveness, care, and overall service provided by the staff. Two, in particular, noticed our family situation and made a way to clear a table with chairs for us. Like most things, a meal can be found anywhere... but the service alone is enough for me to come back and recommend the CREAMLINE. read more

They greet you well and the person at the register was very nice. One of the girls at the register was handling a lot of things but did it with a smile! The problem comes when we're talking about how long it took for the food to come out. For reference, I ordered a single patty cheeseburger and fries. There was no line but a lot of people in the restaurant, which made me think that it was going to be super fast! I didn't notice that no one at the tables has any food. I waited 45 minutes for a burger and fries (maybe longer, I just stopped looking after the 40 min mark). I honestly didn't see the signs when I sat down. I was simply waiting for my friend and fully intended to order from this location. Instead of politely explaining the policy, a man approached me very rudely and said, "You can't sit here without ordering." I explained that I was waiting for my friend and that I WOULD be ordering from there, so I didn't understand why I couldn't sit while I waited. He then told me, "We don't allow outside food," which was even more confusing considering this is Chelsea Market, where people are purchasing food from different vendors throughout the market. I'm visiting from out of town and genuinely wasn't aware of their specific seating policy. Rather than simply explaining it respectfully, he proceeded to slam/point to the sign again. I ended up having to give up my seat, go order, and then come back just so I could sit down. I completely understand businesses having policies, and I would have gladly followed the rule once it was explained to me. My issue was the way I was approached and spoken to. With all the options available in Chelsea Market, I was pleased to find this spot! They offer solid burger choices, and their waffle fries are crisped to perfection! You can also order a variety of shakes. I would note that I visited pretty late (around 6 pm) to order food, and they already had a very limited menu since they close at 7 pm. While in Chelsea Market, I stopped by Creamline and tried the Patty Melt with fries, ranch, and a drink. I'll start by saying it's definitely on the pricier side--$15 for the patty melt, $8 for the fries, $1 for the ranch, and $3.75 for a canned Sprite. The service was mediocre at first, but when I went back to purchase the ranch separately, the cashier was personable and kind. She mentioned that the ranch was their best, and I have to admit--she wasn't lying. It was worth the dollar! What originally drew me to Creamline was the fact that they actually had seating. After walking around the city, I really needed a place to rest my feet, and this spot seemed to have plenty of seats! The patty melt was good, but the fries and ranch were the true stars. The fries were perfectly crisp and paired amazingly with the ranch. I would go back solely for that. The only downside was the $4 canned soda, I also appreciated that staff came by to clear our table before we left. Like most other restaurants at Chelsea Market: highway robbery. However, the protein bases (burgers, fried chicken) are notably one notch above their fast casual counterparts. The burgers are slightly better than Shake Shack, but come at a 50% premium. Meatier bite, meatier taste. The chicken is solid as well. I get the feeling that they skimp on everything else aside from the protein, with cheap buns and meh toppings, nothing I'd really consider farm-to-table/artisanal. This was the perfect spot for some grub after a day out in the city. We initially walked past it, then on the way back through Chelsea Market we noticed it again and decided to give it a go. Service is fast considering how packed they were on a Sunday afternoon! The grilled cheese is utter perfection. Perfectly toasted buttery bread with delicious cheddar cheese. The fries are amazing! So fresh and crispy, no need for ketchup. We topped it off with fried Oreos because why not? Equally delicious with a light batter, nothing too heavy. Average burgers but they messed up patty melt because it was grilled but not enough to make it toasty, so just soft and greasy. Never met a waffle fry that I didn't like, and these are good but not hot enough. Seating is comfortable and setting is non-pretentious. They participate in a loyalty program, but no one on staff knows how to redeem rewards, so basically thievery. It's cute and has multiple tables and counter tops, which is more than you can say for some of the other food options inside the market. The chocolate milkshake is just OK - its exactly what you'd expect of a chocolate milkshake! It's thick, tastes like chocolate, and there's a nice helping of fudge drizzled around the cup. It didn't feel particularly special, but it satisfied my craving for a milkshake while I was in the area. I'd recommend sharing it with another person, because it felt like a lot of milkshake to drink. It would be nice if they offered a half size version. For the price of $8+, I thought it might come in a prettier cup or something (not that it really matters at the end of the day). Honestly, I never leave poor reviews but the encounter I had with an employee was shocking. Not only were they rude, they were completely insufferable and miserable at best. The encounter was so bad that I decided to not try any food here at this establishment. Long story short, there were two tables on the outskirts of the restaurant. Keep in mind all through out Chelsea Market there's random tables to sit at. My fiancé and I sat for two second to regroup and figure out where to eat next, which was going to be the Creamline. The minute we sat this employee can up to us and started mocking my fiancé. Keep in mind it's loud and it's very hard to hear in there. We simply could not hear this man who aggressively came up to us. I said "excuse me?" my fiancé said "what?" This employee proceeds to scream in my partner's face "WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?!" And then shoves some table plaque his way. We were in complete shock and it honestly ruined the rest of our visit there. I suggest employing people who are happy to work there and who are kind to guests, especially on Easter. It's so much easier to be kind than to exude that type of awful behavior. read more

We met some friends here for dinner on Thursday night. The music was so obnoxiously loud that we could barely order or speak at the table. Luckily, the manager on duty (she was awesome) lowered it for us, which seemed like an act of mercy for everyone at the restaurant. There's beers on draft and our friends got a pitcher of a local white ale that we enjoyed. The $12 cheeseburger was fine, but laughable in terms of value. It's like a shake shack burger, tiny and smashed, and it's not like that came with fries. We don't care if that cow lived his/her best life on some kumbaya farm upstate--price your menu accordingly! The honey hot chicken sandwich was a better portion and we loved how crispy the chicken was, but the honey was dripping everywhere and we needed over a dozen napkins to eat it. Waffle fries were fine. The shakes (almost $11 each) were pretty amazing--you could definitely taste the freshness of the dairy and while we wish there had been more of a cookie element in the cookies-n-cream, it (and the strawberry one) was the best part of the meal. Service was friendly and fast, but bottom Creamline line: not worth it. There are better stalls in the market where you can get more bang for your buck. We would neither return nor recommend this place, but happy to have tried it once. read more

I loved the sandwich, one of the best I have had in NYC. To top that they are located in the Chelsea market, one of my favorite places in the city.
