The Price: It is the average cost of coffee, tea, and pastries in CLT, not overly expensive and it won't break the bank. The Value: I feel like I get good quality food and drinks for the price, you get what you pay for here, and the drinks are absolutely delicious. The Parking: It's a little sparse if it's busy, you may need to plan to park nearby. The lot is small and can get crowded quickly. My Order: My order is the iced matcha latte with oat milk, it's one of the best I've had in the city. They also have yummy breakfast sammies. The Conclusion: It's on my route, so I'll frequent this cafe. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for great coffee and friendly service!

Service: Great service, family-run- they can usually suggest something good even if it's not on the menu. They're fast, friendly, clean. Ambiance: This place is super clean. (Did I mention that already?) Currently they are doing renovations inside but I had to be told about it since there was no noise or mess. I only asked bc was curious why indoor seating (other than the bathroom!) wasn't available. It was outdoors seating & the weather's been perfect so it was a delight to sit on their wraparound porch or the back yard. Lovely flowers & ambiance. A few cute things to shop while you're there. I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly they got people in & out of there. One woman brought her little girl for a special whipped cream birthday drink- thought I saw a cherry on top but could have been wrong. She was so excited

We did not add any syrups, which are additional cost on already pricey drinks. The chai is nice and spicy, which I love, but I wish I had added a syrup. The matcha just tasted like milk honestly. If you like a more milky, less grassy matcha this is the place for you. Additionally, this place is very popular so the wait is kind of long. There are 3 ways to order - your phone, a tablet, and at two different windows. It seemed like they were struggling to manage all of the different orders. Drinks were mixed up at the two windows, so they spent extra time trying to yell out the name or find the person. Next time, I would order ahead for pick up.

My giant plain croissant was warmed up and super flakey. To be transparent, the croissant wasn't super authentic, but I enjoyed it. Also, it was HUGE, $4, and made from scratch. However, the showstopper for me was the pistachio croissant filled with pistachio cream, which was downright delicious. Again, the execution of the croissant wasn't traditional or "proper," but I really enjoyed it. Some other pluses, the service is lovely and fast. The space is quite large, there's a variety of seating, everything is clean, and there's guest wifi. I strive to leave very honest reviews, so if you're looking for a super authentic croissant, the Changebaker Place isn't for you. You'll probably prefer Vicente or Cocotte. To be clear, those two options aren't perfect either. But if you're looking for something yummy and kindly priced/affordable, good people, and good vibes: this is your place!!
