I'm a fan of most parks, and Salt Creek is no different…read more Let's start with what this park has to offer; -Outdoor and Indoor Basketball Courts: My nephews frequent this place for their bball practice and even have some games here. The indoor courts are clean and staff is pretty fair. -Decently sized playground for kids to play -Enough benches for parents to watch their kids play. -Location: My teenager lives a hop, skip, and a jump away from here. My baby's front yard is literally Salt Creek. Yes, I've been to Salt Creek's community center a ton of times. I could be the Duke if I could only remember to check in. -Fitness Room: They have a small fitness room where you can get your workout on. This fitness room is not for me because I need a little more than just a handful of machines, but it's perfect for the peeps living in the community that's looking for a quick workout. -Trails: From the community center runs trails that circle the area. The next time I'm in town, I am using the start of the trail for my half marathon training. The trail doesn't run 12 miles, but that's what side streets are for. San Diego Rock n Roll here I come!!! There's plenty of parking at this park and til this day it's still well maintained. I laugh at Maria C's review about the parking if you're here for a Filipino party. She mentioned how crazy the parking can get. She's so right about that. Come to think of it, I think I was at the same party. PS: I haven't seen dangerous wildlife at this park (i.e. snakes, coyotes, mountain lions, ladybugs, etc). There are some dogs though and you never know when one is going to bite you in the leg, ha. I love Mount Laguna!!! I've been hiking and mountain biking out here for years. It's got such a…read morevaried landscape, ranging from huge desert overlooks to green meadows and trees. There is adequate parking along sunrise Highway pretty much anywhere you go. You are supposed to have an adventure pass to park here and they have a kiosk to pay for it but it never works. Fortunately if you have the America, the beautiful pass, you can put that on your dashboard and that will cover it. Today, my man and I went out and did a hike on the PCT portion to Foster point. Absolutely stunning, one of my favorite overlooks in the area. On this portion of the trail, there is very little tree cover and you've got to be careful not to get dehydrated. It was only 74° and it got toasty in the sun. We were out there for three hours, and I had 3 L of water. I drank pretty much all of it and a Gatorade bottle that I brought. If you come out here for biking, be sure to hit Los Gatos Trail. It's so flowy and fun and has a bunch of little features you can play on. Noble Canyon is a legendary trail but if you are going to ride it, make sure you've got strong bike skills because it is quite technical.

My son especially loves the little roller-coaster swing! Unfortunately, the seated roller-coaster swing has been locked and unusable the last few times we've visited. The sun sails and shaded grass are great, but I wish there were more shaded parent seating and trash cans near the playground. The bathrooms are also about 100 yards away at the rec center. Overall, it's become one of our favorite morning routines- play at the park, then head to the Imperial Beach Library afterward to cool down in the AC and read some books!

They get their playground fix and I get my fresh air and the park is just down the street from where I live. I also get to see beautiful sun setting skies. Equipments are safe, both at the older age kids area and toddler. Roomy, clean and "cushioned" ground. Safe. Side note: if you're not paying attention to your child, he/she can get "hit" by the zip line that's moving through. I had witnessed a 4yr old hit by one. He wasn't paying attention as he ran across...nor were his parents. I don't like the older kids (teenagers) and adults utilizing the playground equipment (aka hoggers) and play space. I see adults sitting on equipment hangout out while "watching" their child(ren) and I've seen others using the equipment (ie swings, zip line, see-saw, twirling chairs, etc). It ridiculous and there are metal signs posted indicating 12 years and older on playground equipment are not allowed. There are cemented seats that surround the play area and there are benches too. Not sure why adults are using the equipment as seats. Bring your own folding chair if you need to sit down. The entire park still needs work done. The grass area that's used by AYSO soccer teams, the parking lot being too small and this is just to name a few obvious items. I guess it's work in progress. Recommend playground
