Girl About Town - The proposal of our DREAMS

    Girl About Town

Girl About Town was so much more than just someone coming in and decorating. Girl about town…read more(especially Vic the person we worked with) was a support system for my girls and I. We all know that traveling as a woman can be a little nerve-racking. Having Girl About Town changed that for me. It was like I was flying into a support system. She checked on us throughout our trip and even when we landed back at home. I felt like I had a local person that I could contact at any point if I needed anything. The weeks leading up to our trip, Vic and I spoke many different times. She made sure I knew everything that they offered to make our trip one of a kind. She pointed us to local restaurants that I had no idea existed even in the last three time I've visited New Orleans. On top of the beautiful decorations, amazing charcuterie board, games, and special treats. She came back to the Airbnb after we left for home and cleaned the whole place. What a blessing especially since we had to leave at 8 AM and wanted to enjoy our last night. I would also like to say Skyer and Vic made sure we had a stand to hang the decor on because the whole building was brick. (I'll post a photo of our last night with the Beautiful balloons still hanging up after 5 days) even the ones on the brick stayed! Lastly, I will forever be grateful for my experience in New Orleans!! Girl about Town made this trip One of kind! It was a surprise trip for my sister and they really helped pull it off. It would not of been the same with out them. 100% worth booking.

She promptly contacted me to set up a phone consultation after I reached out to her about doing balloons for us. I had a loose idea of a theme in mind, but that's it. I was unsure what to ask for or how it could all come together. She had creative ideas to share and several unique options for the set up. After our conversation, she provided a color scheme & mood board that perfectly captured my vision for our brunch party! I was impressed how precisely she tailored her design for us, but that was nothing compared to how blown away (pun so warranted) I was on the day of the event. We ended up going with a balloon design around marquee letters spelling our daughter's name and it looked even better than I ever could have imagined. The quality of these balloons is bananas. I don't understand how they are so different from every other balloon I've seen, but these are next level. They're thicker, more durable, bigger, and more vibrant than any basic balloon. They way she set them up all connected and anchored down with engineering magic made the design super sturdy and locked in-place. This wasn't like a "balloon garland" as much as it was like a sculpture. There's just no way to "DIY" this kind of decoration. Her prices are incredibly reasonable, but when I initially started planning for my daughter's 2nd bday, I was on the fence about spending money on decor. That being said, of all the things I did for my daughter's birthday, the balloons were our favorite hands down! If I had to do everything over again and cut my budget, I'd sooner drop anything else before Pop of Color. Elisabeth is an absolute dream to work with: creative, communicative, and reliable, and her work is amazing! I can't say enough about how thrilled we were to work with her and I'd have her do balloons for us in a heartbeat.

She's professional, friendly, and is a wonderful vendor to work with. The balloons she uses are high quality and her ability to create colors to fit you theme/aesthetic truly makes her an outstanding pillar in her niche. I can't recommend her enough!

We arrived at Arcosanti in the middle of no where. It is a live-in artisian community for those wanting to perfect a certain type of bell making technic. The setting is mystical as it reminded me of a Hollywood movie set. It was beautiful in a unique way. I was glad to be attending a Cloth and Flame dinner here tonight. Cloth and Flame (C and F) had enhanced the surroundings with a bar, spa-like soothing music and mood lighting. Hors d'oeuvres were served while people mingled and engaged in pleasant conversations. An introduction was made of C and F, Arcosant staff and residents. They explained the mission of Arcosanti and shared the founder's vision. The bell was sounded and we all took our assigned seats for an incredible evening and fabulous food. Around 75 people sat at assigned seats for a delicious family style meal. Being seated in this manner forced you to meet and have conversations with couples on your right and left. It was a community feeling for a dinner that I don't get at a normal restaurant. People were open, engaging, friendly and warm. It was like dining at a friend's house with additional guests you have never met. The ambience was only outdone by the quality and flavor of the food. I have included a copy of the menu. We started with a mushroom, roasted garlic and allum crema. I am a huge fan of mushrooms and was not disappointed but had to remember, this was meant to be shared with others at the table. The next dish was a salad with cauliflower, raisins, berry mixture and mint. It was a completely different taste profile and a welcomed surprise to my taste buds. The orange flavored salmon filets and beef tenderloin with chimichurri sauces was perfectly cooked and moist. This is not easy to accomplish as they had to be served to all guests at once and were spot on. Great job by the chefs! Our dessert was a corn marscapone with strawberries. If you are looking to have a special evening with incredibly prepared food in a mystical setting, call Cloth and Flame. It will be a memorable evening and an enriching experience for those attending. Hats off to an event that was impeccably plannef and over the top.
