I came to have dinner at Autentica Taqueria and this place was inside the restaurant. If the nice sweet lady (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) didn't come up to our table to ask us if we wanted dessert, I probably would've never tried this DELICIOUS treat! I tried the Papi Chulo. I was beyond excited to find this place. I grew up eating bubble waffles, aka eggettes aka puffles, and this is definitely one food item I miss living in Miami. I remember when I was a kid, on cold winter days I would buy a bubble waffle, kept it inside my coat pocket to warm myself and reached in to tear off a bubble to munch on now and then. While I was a little skeptical whether this gweilo (the Hong Kong equivalent of gringo) can make a good bubble waffle, one bite and he passed with flying colors! In fact, I'd say that, over the years I've tried a few places in Miami, and further afield in other parts of N America and even Europe, and Crazy Bubble makes them as authentic as can be! They are 1. crispy on the outside and soft and chewy inside 2. the bubbles are hollow inside instead of fully filled up, making it fluffier 3. The texture is not like cake or pancake. There are quite a few creations to choose from, and they are all delicious. They use good ice cream and quality ingredients. To make sure the food truck was there I called the number and the owner picked up. Super nice and gave me the address. My kids shared a bubble waffle with cookies and cream ice cream, m&m's and condensed milk on top. They loved taking bites of the waffle or pulling off a bubble part. It was a hit with them. I shared a Sugar Daddy with my husband. I can't remember all the ingredients but it was delicious. We had to wait a few minutes as the waffles are made hot and ready for each order. The absolute best bubble waffles! They are delicious! Crunchy on the outside and fluffy airy inside. The ice cream that they use is absolutely drool worthy (very creamy and not super sugary). The owner is very kind and makes the experience of ordering a dessert with them so easy! By far my favorite dessert in all of Miami.
