And the neighborhood is urban commercial/industrial 2 if I'm right, ya know, not yuppie stuff - so very organic small maritime city with many layers of history: Franco-Ottowah, Mid-Atlantic swarthy Irish/Mediterranean/Balkan, Great Migration Success Story, and your unique Netherlandy people too. All hungry and at the mercy of the big orders of the day! That's a good small business for you. Four stars to make it clear you can park in the gravel "employee" lot if you're poor at streetwise parking. Easy fix and it's a 5-er! Evan Kearney (ÓCaernaigh)

Very disappointed in the cake i ordered. i called the cake hotline and described what I wanted. I…read morespecifically wanted roses on it. I had her read back the order to me and it was correct. No roses when I picked it up. Also you are getting skimpy with the frosting On the cupcakes. I have been ordering cakes from Rykes for fifty years and this is the first time I was disappointed.

This Bakery!!! Why don't I have a bakery like this closer…read moreto my hometown!?! Waaaaaaahhhhh!!! It's nothing from the outside. It's rundown. One tiny chalkboard sign in the window with the hours. You'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. But- LOOK FOR IT!! You will not be disappointed!! Paul the owner is the sole baker. His sister Barbara lovingly packages what you chose from the display case and cashes you out. They summer here at Silver Lake during the summers- all the way from Massachusetts! And they are just simply the best people ever! Oh the baked goods! Dill and cheddar scones 10 stars! So much dill, perfectly soft on the inside and yet a perfect brown crust. The raspberry and rosemary scones are equally as amazing, with real fresh raspberry jam in 4 little pools on top. We had nearly all the cookies in the cookie jars with the sugar cookie and confetti being our favorite. The cardamom radiating bun is unique and dense, the raisins are soaked in a orange liqueur and the top gently dusted is powdered sugar. Then there's the raspberry bar!! I only got 1 on my last day here, as we were headed home, and I'm living with regret still. Get like 6 of the raspberry bars! Don't be like me. In fact get like 6 of everything when you're here. You'd be a fool to buy any less. The prices are worth every penny, but you don't have to dish out a lot of them. Cookie will run you $1.25 for the giant ones and the massive scones that you can make a meal out of are only $1.75, my 1 raspberry bar (stupid me!) was only $2 and I swear is weighted 6oz! The face size cinnamon roll is only $2. Come here! Say Hi to Paul and Barbara, get 3 bags of goodies, a loaf of bread du jour, and a hot cup of coffee. Enjoy your items at this quaint little bakery, lots is seating, or take your items in the road. Oh- I almost forgot- THE CINNAMON ROLLS! Go look at my pictures!

Beautiful little bakery with a huge parking lot! Still good! We…read moredon't go to Deboer's often because it's in a high traffic location that attracts swarms of people/ tourists. The food is good, but not usually worth these long wait times imo. Today, was a cloudy and cold Wednesday mid morning. The place was busy, but no long wait times. The food is always good. Everything I've ever eaten on the menu is good... but I have a special affinity for pig 'n the blankets, banket, and any Mexican inspired breakfast item in the menu. Today I had the chorizo Benny. It was fabulous and worth the $15 imo. Our waiter, Pedro, was the best! He's worked there for over a decade and knows the family that runs this restaurant--- 3 Dutch brothers--- he gave me a run down on the lore and all the pictures are of their family photos hanging around the restaurant. I think that's pretty cool. They will be opening and expanding into a new restaurant location on the corner of River and Lakewood Blvd sometime in the near future. That location will have more of a "hipster" vibe with breakfast cocktails, etc. Check them out when you want... but if you don't want to wait come during off peak hours and off season times. Make sure to peruse their bakery for some goodies to take home. Salud.
