Since I wasn't physically at the property I decided to call around for some quotes. As soon as I spoke with someone at the Clean Air Co., I knew they were who I wanted to go with. They got it scheduled and said the technician would call me once he assessed the vent. To my surprise, the technician reported that the vent was already really clean and told me it wasn't necessary. He said he'd of course be happy to do it but he thought I'd rather save the money. I'm so grateful for his honesty. Not only was he awesome, but both of the folks in the office who I spoke with were very friendly and helpful as well. So, while I can't speak to the services themselves, I feel I can strongly recommend the Clean Air Co. based on my interactions with three different employees, who were all the kind of people I'd want working for me. I had numerous communication issues--calls and emails were unacknowledged. The reality is that we could not agree on the next steps on the current job of cutting a 1in by 6ft section and staining aboard. Modern Handymen wanted to charge me a minimum of $625 dollars for this job. I believe this is exceptionally high. So, what happened is that I needed up being charged $125 or more for three visits. The 2nd visit included recommendations to completely change our whole arrangement. All they did was remove three screws and left me hanging. We tried to work out this new arrangement, and communications were ignored. Then an unauthorized visit by the "master" carpenter occurred. not "rip me off." I clearly disagree they are definitely trying to do just that. I believe this business harassed, is untrustworthy, and is unethical.

Beware of The Nashville Handyman - Unlicensed and Costly Mistakes…read moreI hired The Nashville Handyman, owned by Chad Weideman, expecting professional service, but instead, I ended up with severe property damage and thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs. His crew used a mechanical trenching machine that broke my sewer line, and rather than informing me, they covered it up with bricks, gravel, and dirt, leading to major plumbing failures over time. Upon further investigation, I discovered that The Nashville Handyman is not licensed to perform this type of work, which is illegal in Tennessee under T.C.A. § 62-6-503. The law states that unlicensed contractors may be held liable for treble damages--triple the actual repair costs. Even after being presented with undeniable evidence, they refused to fully take responsibility for the damages they caused. If you care about your home and finances, avoid this company. Always hire a licensed and reputable contractor instead.
