Placed a curbside pickup order April 24 2022, only after arriving was told one of the items was backordered. Decided to cancel the order. Turns out for gift card refunds Crate and Barrel would mail me a gift card out of the USA. On May 13, three weeks after my order cancellation I reached out to customer support to figure out what was going on. Their solution was to cancel and resend me my refund. On May 17, now 24 days, after my order cancellation the initial refund card arrived, but now cancelled. At this point it will be June before I receive a refund for a purchase I cancelled in April. I feel I received a poor customer experience from Crate & Barrel. read more

I was in Crate & Barrel today and that store is so beautiful and the quality is second to none. Yesterday I was listening to a designer who said that C&B has a higher quality the RH and I totally agree. C&B is a higher quality as they use higher quality products. They have a line in there by a designer that is breath taking. I'm not just saying this no one asked me to write this I'm just very impressed. They products stand the test of time and currently they have a sale that anyone can afford. Trust me check them out in Edmonton and ask for Char-Min she is one talented lady that I ask.for all the time and you will.lleave with items that you will love the rest of your life because they will be timeless. I was in the store recently and purchased some throw pillows. The person helping me said I could return but I returned one and the way the storeager looked at me it was like I was doing something wrong It's all new ppl in the store and sorry to say they are no where near as good at the decorating as the lrevious staff were. Don't get me wrong the new ppl are very friendly they just don't have the taste amd style the previous staff did so jist bring honest I have to now take back another pillow and I already know they won't be happy but that manager js always staring right through you or so it seems and is exactly why once I do this return they won't see me again. read more

Very nice housewares store. Very bright,clean thoughtfully run place with lots of helpful staff. Middle price range on kitchen,dining room,decoration product. Lots of bar ware,glasses,kitchen nick-nacks,cooking supplies . They have a new nespresso machine set up so you can make a coffee to walk around with . A woman was making pasta with a machine while i was there. Nice place to browse and pick up things you didn't know you needed. read more

I have been into store many times mostly just buying kitchen type items. But this last visit me my husband bought two major teams. A large storage unit and a large TV unit. The staff were helpful although we were a bit annoyed that the one sales person literally stuck right beside us the whole time. We even try to give him hints saying "OK will think about it for a bit" but he stood right next to us the whole time Other than that the store is full of unique furniture, kitchenware, bar ware, lighting bedding etc. We just got our furniture delivered yesterday and one of the items was a bit damaged. It looks like it has water damage. I will see how deals with this. The delivery man were very accommodating polite and helpful. read more

Hoorah, hoorah! Edmonton gets its very first Crate and Barrel! I had been away on vacay so when I wandered through Southgate Mall the other day, I was confused by all of the bright lights. What is that? Why does that window have windows instead of walls? Oh - oh my gosh. C&B is here! The store is HUGE. I swear, if I didn't know any better, I would be sure that this place is in some alternate universe where it's even bigger than Southgate Mall itself. Major pros: the shop is clean, organized, and well-laid out. There's plenty of great mini-room set-ups (a la Ikea) for inspiration, and there are a ton of items to shop for. Everything from couches and loveseats and massive, beautiful glassed-in bookshelves to small wicker baskets and Christmas decorations. The store seems to be organized by style. The first living room set-up you stumble upon is all warm woods, big comfy couches, old world charm. Off to the right is the fun, bright modern decor. It's helpful when you're looking for your "style" of furniture and knick knacks. Several pieces reminded me of Ikea, but there's that whole you-don't-need-to-put-them-together-yourself aspect of it, so of course they're a bit pricier. Still, when I do move beyond my Ikea phase, I think C&B will be the next place I shop. Staff weren't particularly helpful - I didn't have anyone greet me or ask if there was something I was looking for. Oh well - I was content to wander aimlessly on my first trip here. read more

I was pretty excited to finally check out Crate & Barrel, since I'm always looking for another spot to browse kitchen gadgets. I found their selection to be lacking. I realize that there is more to C&B than kitchen stuff, but for the size of that store, they could afford to stock up on the cookery a little more. Also wasn't a fan of the pushy sales people. I was in the store for 5 minutes, and three different associates jacked me up and asked if I needed help. I am fully aware that I look like a dirtbag on my days off, but I still don't appreciate folks looking at me like I'm about to steal something. read more

I a currently lusting over this entire store. It's so beautiful and way classier that IKEA. It has such a gorgeous immaculate display of all it's products I just want to buy one of everything! This store is so clean and organized I love it. The staff were really kind and helpful, I appreciated their help and expertise. I love how the store is laid out, very easy to navigate from section to section and doesn't seem crowded at all. Since the store is extremely well lit and uses a lot of white the store looks a lot bigger than it is. It kind of reminds me of one of those "heaven-department-store-scenes" in the movies. Love Crate&Barrel, go check it out. Man I know I'm getting old when I find "home-sense" type stores fun to be in.... read more

There was a lot of hubbub when C&B first opened up in town, and it's definitely nice to see a new addition to Edmonton's selection of furniture stores. It's not just the two extremes of IKEA and Finesse anymore! The store is well-lit and has a very well-organized layout. Displays are set out in various styles with matching accessories, and it feels very similar to IKEA when you're visiting different living rooms and secretly pretending you either 1) live there, or 2) are visiting a very stylish and chic friend. I totally loved the 60s style dining room near the back of the store, with its vintage orange and brown hues. You cringe at reading my description, but go check it out and see how great C&B makes it -- a sure sign of great designers when you can work those colors into decor! Browse their kitchen gadgets and knick-knacks towards the end of the store. There were lots of neat gadgets to play and explore with, and lots of great ideas for holiday gifts this time of year. Service didn't seem pushy, the salespeople I saw mostly just smiled and asked me how I was doing. Would I ever buy anything from C&B? I don't know, because I'm one who enjoys repurposing and upcycling stuff. I would come to C&B for great ideas and inspiration. There was an amazing wooden dining table repurposed from old telephone poles actually -- so cool! Maybe I would purchase big ticket items from here if I could afford it, haha ... lots of great pieces to suit various styles! read more

I love the staff here. They're always willing to help and always within reach without being over bearing. The selection of house wears and kitchen goods is great, and the price range is really varied. They always keep their seasonal stock up to date. Most of their furniture selection is in the classic/modern range and is mid-high end (price wise) We did a gift registry with them today, and it was the easiest registry process I've veer encountered. You tell a staff member that you want to set a registry up, they set you up with a scanner and explain how it works, you scan items to your hearts content, and then finish everything off at a computer kiosk when you're done. Hopefully our wedding guests will have an easy time with it as well. read more

Like others, it appears I'm a soul who loves to torture myself often enough by window shopping. So on a lunch break I came here. Crete and Barrel for me is hit and miss. Considering the prices at times I expect a lot more. Nothing is so true of this fact like the bed frames. Almost all are flimsy, some have an unhealthy amount of burlap-type material and padding, and nothing is really worth the price. In fact I remember turning over the price tag on some and just getting angry. On the other hand I do like some of their couches. Kitchen tools are another thing that C&B excels at. Most are nicely designed, but mark-ups seem higher. Staff are really helpful and I like the fact that there are discounted items in the store which usually have a scratch or two on them. C&B is ok, but I remember them being far better. read more

While this is not normally "my" kind of store I was very pleased with the customer service I received once reading the sales counter. That said no one stopped to help me while I wandered the store in search of items from someone's wedding registry. So I'm kind of torn as to my reaction to that: usually I don't actually want to be helped and find things fine on my own but this time I was tired and probably could have used the help. Still I liked their wedding registry kiosk and did indeed get great customer service when I got to the register: the staff member even wrapped my gift in MY provided bag and wrapping paper as I had this with me. I really appreciated this fact as I was shopping pretty much at the last minute for these gifts. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by any company in my entire life as I have by this store. I am just absolutely shocked and appalled by their behaviour and cavalier attitude toward someone who has been a very loyal customer to their brand for many, many years. Three to four weeks before Christmas, I went in to purchase the absolute perfect gift for my brother and sister-in-law. It wasn't available in the store, so they order it in for me. They assured me it would arrive before Christmas because I had come in quite ahead of time. Though the gift was not expensive it had so much meaning, it really was the perfect gift for the two of them, and I was just over the moon and so excited. A week before Christmas the store called me to let me know my packages had arrived. Two days later I popped in to pick them up... after about 20 minutes of wandering around the store a clerk finally told me they couldn't find the packages, that they had accidentally given them away to someone else. I remained calm and didn't worry because we still had five days to go and they would certainly be able to find replacements and bring them in. They told me that they would call me the next day and let me know the progress. I never heard from them. Finally on the 23rd I called, got the runaround, was handed off to other person, told they would call me back which - they did not. I called back again on the 24th asking if they were in... I don't believe they even ever tried to replace them. They said that they had called the lady who had taken my package, whether that's true or not, I'm not sure. They asked me if I wanted a refund and I ensured them that I 100% did not. I still wanted what I ordered. Although Christmas Day was spoiled, I still knew this was the perfect gifts, and still wanted them. Cut to 1 month later: I finally go back in because not once since Christmas was over have they called me. No phone call, letter, email, attempt to make amends. Nothing. They seemed shocked when I went in and didn't seem to care much that they hadn't tried to bring in my items. They just wanted to refund my money and be done. I don't believe the lady that I dealt with intended to make me feel terrible, small, alone and powerless. I guess to her it's just another thing that she sells in the store, but to me it really was the perfect gift - the thing that would put the biggest smile on the faces of my family, the people that I love; and really, that's the best part of Christmas. I've been in this place a few times and have never bought anything so I guess I can't love them that much although I would go back for specific items like glass accent pieces which I thought were really nice. They have some interesting things and I enjoy walking around although it always seems very similar every time I am in there and that`s not very often. They have some modern type furniture which I enjoy but the shelves I touched all wriggled and seemed lower quality for the price (one was $1700!). They also have some unique cutlery and some nice wall accent pieces although each one I looked at was around $500. Overall, I think this place is a good addition to your home interior shopping resources. Even though, I have never purchased anything from them and I can`t say that they are on my list of places I would go when looking for home interiors due to the reasons mentioned above. read more

I have seen the signs, the paper on the windows, and the very large store front staring back at me at Southgate Mall for months now. My curiosity peaked yesterday as I walked by and saw people running around, setting up, doors open, but customers unable to go in. And now.....Finally. Its here. Crate and Barrell's opening day! I was greeted by two very friendly girls handing out Scratch and Wins at the entrance with the possibility of winning $20,000 (yes that is the correct amount of zeros!) in the store. I won $10. Every little bit helps! Especially when you have a love of furniture and house "stuff" like I do. This store is HUGE! They have attempted to set it up into sections that flow into each other.....upholstery, bedding, desks, dining, into kitchen, appliances, holiday, decor. There is a lot to look at here and a lot of different styles. The furniture is bright in some selections, muted in others, leather, fabric, sofas, sectionals, double chairs, single chairs. Truly, there is so much and something for every taste. I was very impressed with how many item tags I looked at and found "North American sourced" and "Eco friendly". One "leather" chair in particular that I liked was actually made of Soy! I am always wary of box stores as I am on a "buy local" or at least "buy North American" lifestyle, so I am very happy to find a furniture store that I can customize and find things at right in the middle of a mall! I ended up leaving with some tea light holders and a placemat for a hallway table upstairs. I also left with future plans of buying a rug, curtains, a desk and a living room chair one day. Prices are mid-range for furniture and some items can run a bit high (700-2100 for a living room chair, $500-$3000 for a dining room table) but they seem to be of a good quality, although I cannot say for sure until my dog has slept on it, I have spilled a drink on it, and it has met my vacuum many many times. Hopefully that will happen in the future to a particular green double chair I have my eye on. The check out process was a bit painful but I chalk it up completely to first day kinks. Their debit was down (it happens to everyone!!) so I had to leave and come back with cash. No biggie! I left with 40$ worth of stuff for $30 thanks to my 10$ gift card! There is also a wedding registry and if I believed in wedding registries, this would be a place I would register! But I do not believe in registries, so, if anyone at my wedding is reading this, gift certificates to this store would be very welcome gifts if you planned on getting us anything. :) read more

I really like their products but their policy of having no stock in the store, or even in the country, and having to order almost everything makes no sense to me. The sales associate did not want to sell me candles! She told me they only had enough for their display and that I would have to order them. Really!?!? Candles?? I've also been waiting almost two months for a stock carpet with no clear delivery date. It was sold to me with an ETA of 1-3 weeks but we are at week 7 and no commitment as to when we will see it. These are not custom orders. These are just regular items that are on display. But you will have to be very patient to receive them. read more

Horrible customer service. The college student who first tried to help (Britanny) was nice and 20 times smarter than the store manager and the general manager. I was trying to exchange towels (a xmas gift) in an unopened package simply for another color, but it was too much for the two of them. They don't play good cop and bad cop but rather bitchy and stupid.I am donating my unwanted towels to Syrian refugees and finding replacements at another store. I will never shop at C and B again. read more

i used to love this store but after experiencing their poor customer service i won't be going back. i saved up some money and waited for their furniture to go on sale. while i was buying the sofa (davis apartment sofa with right side chaise) the staff was super helpful and friendly. our salesperson was great and told us that although they don't have a warranty per se on their furniture they pride themselves on providing outstanding customer service and going above and beyond to make the customer happy. sounded good to me. loooong story short 3 weeks later they only delivered half of my couch-the chaise part. when i called to ask what was going on they told me that there was a mix up and i wouldn't be getting the other half for another 3 weeks. the manager was in-store but didn't speak to me on the phone because her shift was over (not acceptable!) and she wouldn't be back for 2 days to discuss anything. the girl i talked to didn't seem to think it was a big deal until my husband got on the phone and got really angry. eventually they agreed to lend us a temporary couch. when it arrived it was dirty. the delivery guy actually pointed out a kids shoe print on the cushion. we tried to make the best of it and even though it looked like crap and took all the fun out of getting a new (and not cheap) couch. when i finally got ahold of someone in their "customer service dept" the lady was less than friendly and still didn't seem to think it was a big deal. when i asked what they were going to offer me as compensation for their mistake she told me that they wouldn't even discuss that until the couch had been delivered. she agreed that likely the 2 pieces wouldn't even match due to different fabric dye lots. she didn't think it was a big deal that we were having to take more time off work to have the couch delivered and then if it didn't match even more time. eventually i reached my limit and couldn't take the BS anymore. i called them to have both the loaner and the chaise be picked up and to have my money refunded. finally they were helpful and couldn't agree fast enough! the couches were picked up on sunday, its now friday and a i have yet to hear from them. throughout this process no one apologized and i was treated as though i had somehow contributed to the screw up.umm no, i paid my bill in full. bottom line- this store might be fine for some kitchen gadgets or small things but i sure wouldn't recommend them for anything that you would expect any real quality or customer service. when the delivery guy picked up the couches he said they picked up furniture from unhappy customers all the time- usually due to poor quality. he said it was the worst part of his job. read more
