We worked with Cranson Custom Upholstery to make our custom cushions for a breakfast nook. The whole process was wonderful! They have a ton of samples to look through and were very helpful in helping me narrow it down based on our needs. They were patient with me as I looked through almost all of them and even let us take books home to see how they would look in the house. The communication was excellent throughout the whole process and they were completed right as promised and even labeled the cushions so we would know the order they went in. I purchased a Barcelona replica chair that was composed of Italian leather. One of the tufted buttons was detached, which actually ruled in my favor because it knocked the price down as I knew I could get the button fixed I just had to find someone to do it. This is where Cranson comes into the picture. I called in advance to get a better understanding about price and process two days before - there wasn't much to it. I went there in the morning and went to the gym right after assuming it would take as much time that was predicted. I get a call shortly into my workout and my cushion was finished! Amazing work! I had two Ethan Allen chairs reupholstered, and a round, tufted ottoman in a coordinating fabric. Also, 6 seats on dining chairs. I worked as a designer at Ethan Allen, years ago, and I am a discerning customer- I am very picky! The pair of chairs are my favorites, so beautiful! I did them in a taffeta plaid, and matching plaid is not an easy task. They matched the plaid perfectly, and both pieces match each other, too. Each section of each chair is identical. There is also curved "ruching" or places where the fabric is gathered, and then follows the curve of the back, and the curve of the rolled arm. This is just lovely, and sets them off so well. A very important part is the chairs feel so comfortable still, just like they did before! The little ottoman is just darling, and the dining chairs sit higher up, as I asked, with new, dense foam, the curves and piping: perfect! I have had pieces reupholstered at other places in both AZ and NM, and they have never been as good as they were new. I have sent things back because of poor workmanship, or small details missed. I am so happy to have found Cranson Upholstery, I was referred to them by a fine furniture refinishing shop. Cranson has been in business over 40 years, and the reason is their fine workmanship. You can't go wrong here. They also have a huge selection of fabrics to choose from. Don't look any further. This is the place! read more

A few years ago we took six antique dining room chairs to Cranston to get them reupholstered with the same needlepoint covers that were already on the chairs. A dry cleaner recommended that I wash them myself rather than getting them dry cleaned. Cranston put in new padding and reupholstered them with the original needlepoint. They did a fantastic job. The needlepoint and the chairs were saved. Not only did they look 100% better, but they were also more comfortable and also stable. They had become a little wobbly. I am now going to take in another older, more antique chair (1800,s) to have the chair reupholstered with its original needlepoint. I'm certainly glad that I can bring these old chairs to someone that I can trust. read more

Paul was amazing! I have a white loveseat that I love and cannot replace at any price (nothing like it is sold any longer). He took one look at the cushion and explained why the $240 repair job (of another vinyl repair place) did not last even three weeks. He made a brand new matching cushion for $190 - about $50 less than the faulty repair job. I highly recommend Paul's work and expertise. If there were such a category as below 1, I would certainly have chosen it for this outfit. I tried to be very careful about selecting an upholstery company for my treasured antique chair, which had been in my family for generations. I was STUNNED when the chair was returned to me recovered in fabric that was flaws throughout. In addition, the fabric was loose and wavy on the front. Very poor work. The best part was when the obnoxious son, Joel, tried to convince me it was all in my head. After taking the chair back and giving me a discount for the flawed fabric (verified by manufacturing rep.) and fixing the front, it was returned. WITH horrible quality workmanship.The owner denied that I was pulling loose fabric from the sides as I was pulling loose fabric form the sides. The cording was 2 inches shorter on one side. Again, the chair was taken back. This place sucks. RUN DON'T WALK AWAY from this company. read more
