I had two tasks for Furniture & Repairs - both of which they met extremely well. The post on a 30-40 year old Stressless recliner broke. Unable to source a new base, F&R seamlessly welded a new post on to the original one. I also requested a total reupholstery with new leather and padding. The chair now looks better than new. The other item was restrapping a Breuer chair - less challenging perhaps - but perfectly executed. The company kept me informed throughout the process and were unfailingly civil and responsive. There were cheaper options available, but I have no regrets paying the slight premium for the quality they provided. I am glad to give Furniture & Repairs my highest recommendation. read more

UNLAWFUL VISA SURCHARGE Their tech Jacob was friendly and did a good job, but I feel I was overcharged. I paid $338 to replace one spring and put a few screws in the back of the couch which came apart. I was charged 4% for using Visa, which is against Visa's policy. As of April 2023, Visa only allows a max of 3%, even if the business has to pay more. Visa requires the receipt to show the surcharge on a separate line, but the receipt shows doesn't reflect that. It says "($325 + 4%)." Companies also have to show the surcharge in writing at the point of sale , but I was only given a verbal notification, which is a violation of Visa's terms. I was also not informed that there is no fee for debit, even if it has a Visa/MC symbol, and I would have opted to use debit. The tech probably didn't know any of this, so no fault on his part. I tried to kindly address these issues with customer service, but they refused to refund me the entire 4% as Visa requires for their mistakes. I just wanted them to fix the issue going forward, but they decided to argue with me stating their bank charges 4%. I don't believe their bank charges 4%, but even if they do, Visa only allows a max of 3%. Look at your receipt, and if you were given an unlawful surcharge, contact Visa. Other credit cards have their own policies you can look up on ChatGPT, Grok, or Google. Our repair man "Jack" was courteous, competent and clean. He put down a furniture pad for his tools and cleaned up when the job was finished. One of the chairs in our sectional quit being able to pull up the leg extension. Jack very efficiently disconnected the sections to identify the problem (my wife's phone cord was caught in the mechanism) and replaced the broken cable (including the handle). He also adjusted the seat back which was loose. All in all - I highly recommend this company and Jack in particular. read more

It's sad I have to be the one to rate lesser, but I was not at all impressed with my inquiry on basic handyman services when this is one of the entities who quoted me when I created a "project" here on Yelp. I had high hopes for the 5 star rating... until I got a reply that consisted of a ton of charges & legal jargon. My request was VERY simple. Less than 2 hours max for services needed. 1 storage cabinet assembled (brand new in box w/ all parts), 1 set of patio lights hung (hooks already in place & lights ready), 1 tapestry hung (fixture on hand) & 1 closet rod dowel fixture replaced (part on hand). Instead of being reasonable- I received a novel of a message stating multiple charges, minimums, liability fees, etc. And, no indication of the timeframe to be scheduled. I did reply to try & narrow down what was needed, thinking maybe it was an automated reply... that doesn't seem to be the case because the second reply I got began stating I needed furniture repairs! That was not at all the tasks I was requesting. So, I question if my inquiry was even fully read or comprehended. Needless to say- I'm not going to sign a contract & fork out over $200+ for a handful of tasks that take less than the 2 hour minimum. I would't have minded paying the 2 hour minimum, but not for an additional hourly charge, trip charge & then materials when everything is already set to go, on hand & doesn't take more than 2 hours. I'd think they do a great job based on reviews, but I don't understand why my inquiry turned into more of a full house remodel instead of some basics. read more

Absolutely superb from appointment through repair! Our appointment was between 8:00 AM and noon. Jack called at 8:29 to advise he'd be here in 30 minutes. He arrived one minute early. Jack was so polite and personable, and appreciative we had moved surrounding furniture to give him easy access to our Crate and Barrel sectional. He laid out a packing blanket for all his equipment. He carefully disassembled the section where the springs had failed and showed me the terribly flimsy original metal bracket which had sheared off, causing the support springs to fail. He suggested far sturdier "L" brackets to replace all four of the flimsy original flat attachments.
